Hi and welcome.

Could you add your location to your profile please? Hard to recommend anything not knowing what may be available to you.

Generally, as a beginner there are a few key words you might look for.

Mtl describes the sort of draw one usually does with a cigarette. This is how many people start vaping to quit.

There are pods, all in ones (AIO) and kits. All make it fairly simple to get started, some are better than others.

You will want to start with choosing a device, and then consider which type of juice will work best for that particular bit of gear.

Welcome to ECF! Be prepared for information overload. Take your time and attempt to make an informed decision where to start, which it appears, you are on the correct path. Also, be prepared for "the newbie tax". It involves trial and error in purchasing what suits you best. You will receive many suggestions, but ultimately, vaping satisfaction is subjective. Every vaper has a unique combination of flavor, liquid, topper, coil, wick, mod, battery. There are infinite variables. The cost of finding a satisfactory vape setup is still magnitudes lower than chemo or death from smoking. Also, keep in mind that when you do decide on a vape setup, that quitting smoking does not have to be black and white. Every cigarette you don't smoke is a success. Eventually, you can go from dual use (smoking and vaping alternately) to a smoke-free, happier, healthier life. It took me several weeks of vaping before I decided I was no longer a smoker. Good luck, and congratulations on one of the best decisions you've ever made! :toast:

When trying to quit smoking just make sure your juice has enough nicotine to satisfy cravings. If you are familiar with Li-ion battery use and charging safety then any mod will be fine but if not start with an internal battery mod until you can learn. Smoant, Vaporesso, Innokin are a few brands that generally make decent affordable gear. Once you get started you may find quitting is easier then you thought, vapor offers much better flavor than smoking and when you start feeling better it gets easier knowing you’re going the right direction. Good luck

Okay so you want "nice clouds?" or....

Have you tried vaping your friend's setups? That might be a place to start. Some people do great with larger setups and clouds, and others do better with smaller setups, less clouds, but more similar to smoking and (usually) a higher nicotine level. Some folks like both.

Then there are pods, for simplicity and etc., I guess.

It's hard to know what to recommend until you say more about what you want.

Also, the new to vaping tax is kind of real. Unless you are extremely luck and/or indiscriminate it is rare to hit on your "perfect vape" on the first try. Fortunately, many starter devices are fairly inexpensive.

Welcome to ECF in any case and good luck in your quest.

Hi All,
I am a newbie here and this is my first thread. Like to learn from seniors here about how to kick tobacco smoking and chat with vapor hobbyists.
Thanks for your time.
Welcome and glad you joined.
Might like to say hello to :
Hello, new Vape to be member
National Day, independence from Malaysia in 1965
Filling in your exact location may not be a good idea. Might try general area though, like SE Asia etc... It may help you in obtaining location specific information to your question(s). On the top right hand corner of this post you will find --"your name" next to "Inbox and Alerts"
Place the mouse pointer on your name. You will get a drop down and on the left hand side of this drop down you will find "Personal Details". Click Personal Details.
In Personal Details, in middle of screen in gray, you will find "Location" Could fill that box line in.

Welcome Aboard

Great start to your quitting smoking coming here. You will be overloaded with information, the thing I always think best to start off with is something you'll use. Try the look and feel of them, see how they draw nothing worse that getting something you won't use.

We have a saying here 'KISS' Keep It Simple Stupid, that's a good place to start. A pod system, an AIO (all in one) or a basic stick. My preference at the start were products by Innokin and Aspire, again not a bad place to start. I still use products from them now The Tigon and AVP from Aspire and the Adept from Innokin are in almost Daily use. All fairly new products so actually thinking about it I still buy products from them today!

Good Luck kicking the awful habit, you can do it, if I can do it, anyone can.
