Having read up on recent threads here, I just placed the first of many orders at FSUSA.

Trying to figure out what flavors to get, I used the very helpful polls to see what is popular and seems comparable to the stuff I have tried in the past-

RY4, Wyatt Earp, Apple Pie and Apple were ordered.

I did not get samples because I need about 6ml per tank with my PV, but I am pretty hopeful on the first 2- got 30ml bottles, and 10mls of the different apples since 10ml is my "sample size."

Ok, now the questions:
Steeping time: a search leads me to believe that at least a one week wait is best for proper flavor and two weeks is better, right? I will be using up my current stock, so I shouldn't need to rush things, jsut trying to get a handle on stuff from my new juice supplier. ;)

#2: voltage/heat- I usually vape at 6 volts but can also do 3.7- do folks find any FSUSA juices do better or worse at high voltages?

I guess thats it... for now.

If I can stand to wait (or if it's a flavor that really does need to be steeped to taste good - some do, some don't), I take the cap and the dripper top off, set it the air overnight out of reach of my cat, recap it in the morning, give it a good shake, and let it sit, capped, for another week. I will occasionally, whenever I think to do it. remove the cap and dripper top just to get some fresh air in it, recap it, and shake it.

I would say that for steeping time 2 weeks is ok with 1 month being better. I have tasted some flavors that totally change given a month and are even better at 2 months. Still many are very good after just having the cap off overnight to breathe and a good hard shake before and after.

PS- I am vaping Hopscotch right now that is about 1month and 3 weeks old and also had the cap off overnight when I first received it, and it is really good.

Six weeks! I'm supposed to have that type of will power?:(

As to high voltage vaping, I've found it depends more on the atty used. Even then, the HVs will give you the warmth and vapor but won't burn your juices. Personally I find that I prefer to use HV 510s and 306s above 5v. However I'm happy with the vape of regular 910s, 801s, and Be112s at high volts.

But I ordered a HV 901 today so I may have a different opinion when my Buzz comes back home:cry:

I hated Wyatt Earp when I first got it. It was a 3ml sample they threw in. I kept going back to it and it kept growing on me. Last week I ordered another bottle. To me that was the only one that I hated right away. I disliked Max when I first got it too, but didn't hate it. Now it is my go to everyday vape. Don't know if the steeping did it or the recovery of my taste buds.

I do know that steeping is not a myth ( a la global warming - lol). My DIY stuff that contains caramel is awful at first, then it turns red and it is fantastic.

I have ordered several juices, and so far here are the ones I know were good right off the bat... Cappuccino Smooth, Fireball, Hypnotic Mist, Pina Colada, and Red Bull. I haven't vaped the red bull for about a month however so it might taste even better. As for pina colada, it did taste a tad better after a few weeks, but not by much. Cappuccino and Fireball were just awesome right off the bat that I vaped those down very quickly.

the ones I didn't like right off the bat were Wyatt Earp, Pall Mall, and Beer. Now, I have come to the realization that I just don't like the tobacco flavors, so those are just sitting there and won't get vaped (which reminds me again, I need to PIF on the 30ml of pall mall). As for the Beer flavor, no offense to you guys who mix it, but that tasted like an open can of week old Keystone. I didn't even bother to let that steep. It just went bye bye.

Anyway, I still have CoffeeX to try. Have had it a few days now but haven't tried it yet. I am just finally finishing that sample of Hypnotic Mist. I have been vaping that all day since I got it. Oh yeah, I also tried Baby Back Ribs. It was alright, and definitely had a smokey taste, but I think that is one of those that will probably be better with age.

If you like coffee type flavors then you owe it to yourself to get some Cappuccino Smooth though. :)

Oo, with you on the Pina Colada. I kind of expected it to need time to steep. But it was the best out of the bunch the first day I got it!

With the Pina Colada, I got Irish Cream, Strawberry Banana, Chocolate Banana, and Mango.

The Irish Cream caught up quick - it was good to go after a few days. The Mango was also good right away.

The two banana flavors I got take quite a while to steep though. 2-3 weeks until they tasted right. But once they got there, they were THERE.

I love the apple pie. I found it best on lower volts, 3.7 is good...If you like sweet strong coffee, try the tiramisu. I highly recommend it, good at 4.3 and lower...The wyatt earp is real nice after a week, longer is best. Play with voltage on that one, I get different taste at different volts. I tend to stay on lower volts on most flavors. Some say higher volts bring out different flavors...

I did find the Cappuccino Smooth to be very good steeped at just 1 weeks. Also, the S'mores, were great the 1st week. Hypnotic Mist was great right outta the mailbox. The rest, I've had to let steep for at least 2 weeks. The banana cream pie was a "late bloomer" and needed a little longer than the 2 weeks. But the S'mores was a big shock to me and such a great combination of flavors so quick. My other flavors, I'm trying so hard to be patient with because I'm so tempted to just vape them lol. I have a hard time with the steeping thing and find that I just have to hide those bottles away where I can't see them. that being said, I try to stay ahead on my favorites so that when I order more, I can make it thru the steeping stages. You're also right about the fireball- it's one of my favorites and I've been vaping it from day 1. I like to mix it with my caramel cream too- that's a really good vape to me for some reason. So many great flavors- they're all worth the time it takes to steep though!

Ok, I have to ammend my last post where I said Cappuccino Smooth was good right out of the mail. That was only a 5ml bottle that I was referring to, so it may have just been some stock that is around for just that purpose and probably is pre-bottled well in advance I would guess. I just opened up the 120ml bottle of it today, and I can't put my finger on it, but it's a little bland, and seems like I can taste the VG quite a bit, kind of a bland, yet semi-sweet taste. So, steeping may very well have to do with how big of bottles you get, becuase I would assume that the bigger bottles are made to order while the smaller ones (3-10ml maybe) are bottled in advance and sit for a bit already.

I also ordered it with extra flavor this time, so yeah, I don't think it's just a bad batch. I can taste the same stuff, but it's just a bit bland, and I am pretty sure it's the VG I am tasting, based on the bottle of VG I already have and how that smells. I can not wait until it is ready to vape fully! It's ok though, I still have some CoffeeX (haven't tried yet honestly) and some Fireball in small bottles, so hopefully those work out well. Once I vape through the carto I am currently on, I will try them.

Actually all are made to order Viv. The only exceptions are the samplers.

But larger bottles do have more to steep. Isn't that one of the juices you choose the PG/VG ratios? I buy mostly 120 ml bottles. I like to give them a good shake, take the top off and let them sit open for a day. Then I recap them, give them a good shake and let them sit for as long as I can hold off. :vapor:

I tend to cheat a bit though because my will power just isn't that strong.

Naw, the Cappuccino Smooth is a pre-mix specialty that is set at 50/50 from what I understand. The reason I think it needs to steep, other than what I've already said, is it seems almost to be vaping much more VG than PG, as there is absolutely no TH but there's a ton of vapor. I can taste the same flavors as the 5ml I originally got last month, but it just seems the VG is overpowering it right now, hence the need to steep I think. The 5ml one I got last month was amazing right away. But, yeah, I figured that the larger the bottle, the more steepage will be needed. I have poured some out into the original 5ml bottle I got so hopefully it will steep better (and quicker) in small quantities, but then I also wonder if I am possibly missing some flavors that haven't steeped in the large bottle yet by trying it this way. Perhaps I should pour it back into the larger bottle and just be patient. ;) It's SO hard to be patient though. I fond myself on the analogs more when I don't have juice I am enjoying. Luckily I still have some Red Bull left that hasn't been touched for about a month, and all my juice from GV I ordered and never much cared for. It's all good though. It's all vapable, just not as good as it can be, but with 120ml, and considering I vape maybe 2ml a day, I think I have plenty of time left for steeping with all the other juices I can work with until the time comes. :)

I would like to take the tops off and let them sit, but I have a dusty house (3 dogs), small apartment with a bunch of boxes around still from moving). I guess I could put a filter over the top. I just worry about spilling a whole 120ml too. The only "safe" place I could put it is on my upper shelf in my bedroom closet, however the landlord has had a bunch of construction going on here at the apartments lately, meaning a bunch of banging and rattling. I will see what I can do though. Tonight I will be vaping Fireball however, and if the 10ml bottle is as good as the 5ml one I had last month, right away, I will be perfectly happy for a bit. ;)

Ok, so yeah, tried the 10ml bottle of Fireball and it is perfect. I just think the smaller bottles can steep much quicker, perhaps even just during shipping, than the larger ones. so I am good. I have at least one FSUSA juice that I love to last me a bit while others steep. :) Tomorrow, assuming the CoffeeX 10ml I have needs no steeping, I will try that, and I may mix some fireball into it for a cinnamon/coffee flavor. :) I tried that with fireball and cappuccino Smooth last month and it was pretty decent, but I added a bit too much fireball. I am thinking out of every 10 drops tota, use two parts fireball max, maybe even just one.

CoffeeX is a pretty strong flavor so it may not need steeping. I got a bottle of it for the first time a few orders ago and it threw me for a loop right outta the package. :)

I didn't like CoffeeX as much when I first got it. I went back and tasted it again tonight and now that it has aged about 1.5 months I think it's much smoother and tastier. I went back and tasted a bunch of juices again tonight working on my big review in the sticky thread. Boy those 24mg samplers get me felling all weird with a major nic OD after taste testing a bunch of them in a row.

eh, I got my Fireball and I am good. I love it. It doesn't taste like the candy to me, but tastes more like Big Red because I taste a bubblegum flavor in there as well. Once I taste all my flavors and once I allow them time to steep a while I will post reviews on the main FSUSA site. I did that with my first orders, but now that I know more about steeping, I will hold off before I give my opinion, even though my first reviews were very favorable (other than the Beer flavor). ;)
