I would like to say Hi and thanks to all the members here. When I decided to move to e-cigs, I did a google and ran into this site. It has been so informative for me being new. I decided on the Joye Ego from the vapor pro and my girlfriend the 510 from the same supplier. I got extra attys and some juice, thanks to this forum. Prolly wouldn't have ordered extra anything if I had not found this forum. Now that I have received my order and used the 5 prefilled carts, I am glad I got the extra juice, They went fast!
I am also thinking about ordering some mods from Scottyballs. If I could get some feedback on this mod, that would be awesome.
I also ordered more flavors from vaporbomb thanks to some of the members reviews. I received them today. One was there 30ml cinnabomb sale for 10 bucks! I am really liking the cinnabomb, I went with a 20/80 mix.
Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction and, getting me started on the right foot with these.
And my real question and reason for this post. I see a lot of members that have been here a while and, still using there e-cigs. Is it just as hard to quit these after analogs?

Welcome! To answer your question... some quit, some decrease nic, some will vape forever... It's a personal thing. I never wanted to quit smoking, but needed to and luckily found this wonderful substitute. I will continue vaping as long as I'm able to push the button on my mod. Hopefully they'll come up with the ultimate juice-feeder setup before my eyesight is too far gone and my hands too shakey to drip! They have several years for that though. :D

nicotine is a drug, so yes, it is probably just as difficult to quit vaping as it is to quit smoking. however, some or many people just have addictive personalities, the genetics, and wont have much luck at quitting smoking and/or vaping. at least with vaping, you are avoiding all those extra carcinogens and not exposing your cilia and alveoli and bronchioles to tobacco smoke and creating problems such as emphysema, COPD, lung cancer etc.....
my sister and i both quit analogs and both vape. and we have just accepted the fact that we will probably vape the rest of our lives. but its better than the alternative!

Enjoy yourself and your new PV's. Took me two weeks of reading here before I was brave enough to part with $44.00 for a starter kit, like you I'd have stopped there without reading here, but added enough goodies to last, just didnt get everything in before first battery died on me.

I tend to push myself on the quitting thing because I chose PV's to save money, but as long as there is not an open pack sitting in front of me, I tend to not think to much about analogs anymore. Keep torturing my mom and step father to get in the game and force themselves to find their personal vaping solution and ditch the analogs. They are doing better and claim to be angling for quitting entirely, so hopefully the PV will help them on the road to healthy living.

PV's give you ultimate control. Get enough nic to switch from analogs, lower dosage at will (either vaping less or lower mg), then who knows. I personally vape a whole lot less than I used to smoke time wise. So can see if I routinely lower my mg, might wean myself off the nicotine entirely. My main focus now is kicking the analog habit. Have a pack of analogs in the freezer as my backup's backup and the psychological boost to willpower I seem to get when I know I have a pack vs know I dont have any for emergencies/beer night/etc. But even at 1 cig a day vs 1 pk a day I feel way ahead. The rest is a wait and see.

Actaully soley from what Ive read from stories here on the forum people have found vaping alot easier to give up than smoking ever was. I have no idea WHY that might be, but I have no plans myself to quit vaping any time soon (if ever lol) as I find it pleasurable but if you want to quit vaping also at some point, it APPEARS that it may not be that hard a road to travel. Check the quitting section of the health subforum as well for extra info :)

When I started vaping back in December of '09, I had already been off analogs for several months. I would have a few cigars on the weekends when I was out on my bike with my Brothers, and I still do. The trouble with that is that I inhale them like a cigarette and on Monday morning I feel like I've been kicked in the chest. I started vaping because I liked smoking and really didn't want to quit, but I knew it wasn't doing me any good. Vaping allows me to get all of the sensual experiences of smoking without the crap that goes along with smoking analogs.

I still have the occasional analog if someone offers one to me, but I don't have any craving to go back to them. I don't beat myself up for doing this, either.

I have no plans to stop vaping as I get a lot of pleasure from doing it and I know that I will eventually stop the cigars, too.

We dont usually see too many people with the "quitting ecig" success stories around here because once people quit ecigs, frequently visiting a website for a past vice isnt the most healthy thing.

yeah, that's a good point Peety. I was asked today while demoing my eGo (and another one sold to a heavy smoker too, btw!:headbang:) if I could quit the pv on down the road. My answer was, "so what if I don't?".

Course, I'll be crawfishin' if they turn out to actually be bad for you...nah!

Do some quit vaping? Probably. Will I? Maybe someday. All I know is that I am off analogs for good and for that I am happy. I have already gone down to 18mg juice after a month on 24mg...it was too high for me any way. Down the road I'll probably drop to 12mg and so on. When I get to 0mg will I still vape just because I like it or will I stop because it makes no sense anymore? Who knows. I won't know until I get there.

I've already reduced my nicotine intake from 18mg to 9mg in just the 17 days that I've been using my e-cig. Don't know how much lower I'll get that number, but after having smoked a PAD or more for the past 28 years, I think I'm doing great. I haven't had an analog or even craved one at all since I started using the e-cig.

I have to say- I do not plan to quit vaping.

I'm hopelessly addicted to nicotine to the point that I actually like nicotine. I vape because it's a safish way to feed the addiction, cheaply, and without withdrawal.

Predicting the future is of course a dangerous thing, so I can't say whether I'll quit. I will say I haven't coughed in weeks, I stopped snoring, I feel great, and I have more money. Christ even my libido lost 10 years.

Quit vaping? I just started.

Best thing that happened to me- Ever.

If someone came along and said here's an extra 10 or 20 years... what would you say? I was literally dying, my health going down the tubes, and I knew it.

I'm not going back to tobacco.

most people that use ecigs have already tried and failed to quit with other NRT systems, they needed something better like watching the vapor, choosing their own flavors and nicotine strength, and having a gadget to play with, but when you stop vaping you will be in the same boat as others who used NRT. the longer term results (over one year) are not good.

79 hours with mostly snus for nicotine + PV @ 24mg (Katya + TV think that i should mix things up a little), working great so far and no urge for cigarettes but General snus really doesn't taste that good

August 05 smoked 00 cigs, 40 less than my usual 40 cigs a day 3278 cigarettes not smoked in 94 days by using Stonewall, Joye 510, Hello 016, Ken's BoxMod, MadVapes 2xAA Box Mod, WetBox Vaporizer (ecig) and 19 bottles of ejuice partially used , $0.28 per cig X 3278 Cigs = $917.84 diverted from cigarettes to Vaporizer (ecig). OMG I have spent over $2025.59 in 92 days on this stuff but bare in mind that my old cigarette cost was $330 a month, using snus + PV right now ( General White Portion Mint )
