First a little bit about my history.. I apologize for the lengthy post

Started smoking cigs at a young age and ventured into the world of vaping with a over priced ego starter kit at a local shop about a year ago. I have bought many cheap tanks paired with a v spinner then upgraded to a vtr. I have done quite well coming off a pack a day habit but I have broken down from time to time. So I decided to start looking into other mods/rebuildables. I stopped in to a very knowledgable shop (6 employees every day the owner is there every day truly a great guy I drive past literally 7 shops just to get the great service and knowledge).

Now am am I embarrassed on the question I have? Yes. No doubt. I have read up all about rebuildables and safety and idk if my brain is just not clicking to find my answer but Id figure I'd just ask in this knowledgable community. Anyway I hear someone talking about the aspire Atlantis with the stock .5 coil.. Being a huge fan of the mini nautilus, this appeard to be straight from the sky and a answer to what I was looking for. The vtr will not accept Atlantis so doing as any rational person does I just purchased the Atlantis, along with a cloupor T8, with two 18650 2500 mah... Get in the car fill it up set to 30 watts jaw dropping experience... great flavor, amazing cloud, I was one happy camper. I still am. My mini preforms 1000x better on the T8 as well.

Now as far as safety.. Am I safe to vape this parallel regulated box mod down to zero battery life with the .5 stock Atlantis since it is regulated? What about my couple of month old vtr batteries that have never been used together? Can I use two batteries with different charge level.. One at 100%, one at 90? I should of asked these questions and more but the strore was crowded and I tend to be shy and my anxiety peaks if talking about something I fully don't understand especially around 10-20 veteran vapors (huge lounge, 4 tvs, people building all around me), so I came here thanks for reading and thanks in advance.

Would switch out batts before they went to zero, just easier on them and won't stress them out. Find the T8 uses each batt pretty evenly, so one does want two matched setts of 30 amp continuous batts, to get the best purrformance. As long as they are both VTC4's or both VTC5's, should be okay. Just keep an eye on their voltage differences when putting on the charger.

have a set of both VTC4's & 5's that are used just for the T8. Cloupor does say that for best vape experience, builds from 0.5-0.8 work best. And find this to be true.

Vape long and Prosper.!!!

Hello and welcome to the forum. Glad to have you here!:)

Quick question for you. Are your batteries the green Sonys? The reason I ask is that you mentioned 2500mah. The VTC5's are 2600mah and the VTC4's are 2100mah. If your 2500mah batteries are the purple Efest batteries they are not 35A as marked on the wrapper but are really 20A continuous (35A pulse).

Here are a couple of blog posts by Baditude (one of our resident battery experts). Baditudes Blogs.

9. Battery Basics for Mods: IMR or Protected ICR?
* Another essential read to understand which batteries are safe to use in mechanical and regulated mods. Includes a frequently updated list of recommended safe-chemistry, high-drain batteries with their specifications.

17. Purple Efest Batteries Not As Advertised
* A cautionary blog that reveals that the purple Efest batteries may not have the specifications advertised. Also includes a commentary on "continuous discharge ratings" vs "pulse discharge ratings" of battery specs.

Looks to me like the Cloupor T8 is series, not parallel.
Positive connected to negative means series.
When positive is tied to positive and negative to negative, that is electrically parallel.

They are red flat top it says 3.7v 18650 2500 mah no brand the box was all white no marks.. I have a tough time believing this shop would sell me low tier products. Do you think they could be generics?
Is there any kind of faint printing on the battery like these images: red 18650 3.7v 2500mah?

If your battery has printing that says LG18650HE2 you have a good battery (it's on Baditudes list), but it's only 20A.

Since the Cloupor T8 runs those batteries in series you should definitely buy 2 brand new batteries and keep them married. You shouldn't put 2 batteries with different charge levels in series. Then you will be stressing one more than the other. Just get 2 brand new batteries mark one of them A and one of them B and rotate them every time you charge them so they discharge evenly.

Thanks for the fast reply Susan. There is a label that states the info so I peeled it back and revealed a similar label to the pics you posted but it says

Thanks! You have 2 good batteries for vaping but they are 20A continuous. Since your Cloupor runs 2 batteries in series you will need two new batteries and follow ProjektMayham's advise. I've read that 30A batteries are recommended for the T8. It's going to be hard to find any Sony VTC5's but you may find some VTC4's.

How to Spot Fake Sony Batteries

Sony Real vs Fake.jpg

Only buy batteries from a reputable supplier (not ebay or Amazon) as there are many counterfeit batteries being sold. Here are several reputable battery suppliers in the US.

* RTD Vapor
* Illumination Supply
* Lighthound
* Orbtronics

Why won't the 20a do for the cloupor? Just need to know so when I return them thanks again Susan

Edit: I need to read more.

when the battery gets low: I'll use 3 volts as the low voltage cutoff:
3 volts x 20 amps = 60 watts.
That's a max of 60 watts per battery.
I see the Cloupor T8 rated at 7-150 watts which means it might try to draw up to 75 watts per battery.

You should be ok until you get a short :/

the 20 amp continuous will likely work, but they loose the ability to fire the T8 when voltage drops, when using high watt output. 30 amp continuous just have more available power and the system was optimized for 30 amp batts.

RTD Vapor had the Xstar batts which are VTC4 cells for like $12 each, last time I looked.
