Hey all!

First of all, you lot have an awesome forum, first time posting but have been reading for couple of weeks now.

I am fairly new to the whole world of e-cigs, got my first one approx. 2 months ago. I've been smoking for 8 years and reached a point where I stopped enjoying smoking cigarettes and spending money on them. I am a tobacco enthusiast (look at me sounding oh so snob) although cigarettes are not part of the 'enthusiasm' I do still enjoy pipes and cigars, have a pipe collection of over 360 pieces (envy me!). Anyhow, the point of the above life story, I honestly didn't think e-cigs would help me quit since I enjoy tobacco so much (quitting cold turkey, gum and gradually reducing the amount i smoke daily did not work whatsoever) however, vapour saved my 'life'.

My first kit was a dead simple ego battery with a plastic cartomiser (not sure if I am using the term right) although at first it did woners and I was going ape over all the new fun things with regards to vaping, it soon became apparent I was an uninitiated fool, the thing was dripping and flooding and making my life a misery often making me reconsider quitting. I stuck with it.

Fairly recently I moved to London (from Montreal) and after some research I realised I am in need of a mechanical mod that everyone is raving on about, off I go into google world and come up with ukecigstore.com, I quickly drop KTS+, Anyvape Davide Glassomiser, Efest 18500 Protected battery (button top) and an xtar one-bat charger into the cart (price seeming right) and anxiously await my load of awesomeness.

On a side note, I got a Anyvape Davide-Mini for my old batteries and have successfully got my girlfriend to quit with that.

Now back o my saga, a bit of a rant here, ukecigstore had pictures of gold/polished KTS, I received just a full chrome one (e-mail with that regard was never answered, Efest battery doesn't quite fit well into the charger, and the bottom feed coils are varying in ohm (I know there is a certain degree of error but I ordered 1.8 ohm and out of the pack managed to find 2.1 ohm) and the best part yet, KTS cost me 35£... and I am quite sure it's the same one fast tech has for 20$... So I messed up again and jumped the gun with my purchase.

So, the moral, do your research and this is exactly what I am doing now, posting here in order to get some input and information, if possible, for my next purchase. My girl wants to give me a mod of my choice for xmas and this time I want to go the right way about it and get a good kit.

I've looked around and saw a colossal amount of amazing mech mods and am finding myself lost as to what's good and what's not,
ultimately Caravela would be nice but slightly too long to wait and the whole list uncertainty makes that kit a future endeavour. So what I want is a sturdy, fairly readily available to order kit in the nearest month. I've been trying to narrow down my criteria and so far got here:

- Fully mechanical mod
- 18350-18500 range
- fits the Kick
- bulletproof (KTS I have is quite flimsy and parts move around)
- fairly simple design, polished/gold
- 510 thread
- cost: I am willing to spend anywhere from 100-150£ (200-250$) for the mod and an additional 50-70£ for the rebuildable.

I did look into SvoeMesto on cloud9, looks tempting but a vid review informed that it would have issues if I went lower than 1 ohm, still not discarding it though, the fact that it seems to be quite safe in terms of operation is a big plus.

Although I haven't once attempted to build an atomiser, I already know I want (them clouds.....) so if anyone will be willing to throw in a suggestion of one along with the choice of the mod, it would be awesome.

As far as how much I am willing to bother with builds and etc. my current KTS, although after some research is frightening me and has me checking voltage and resistance with the multimeter every time after a charge and couple times during the day, seems to work alright as a daily tool. So I am looking for a mod that won't be too much of a pain in the backside and will be good from the box (as far as maintenance goes, I don't mind all the tinkering with).

Well that seems to sum it up so far, sorry for the massive post and thanks to whomever bothers to read it all and extra thanks for those who will bother giving some advise and suggestions.

Thank you in advance!

As a ProVari and a Semovar owner, you may want to look at getting the Semovar from Cloud 9 in the UK. Very good support, good folks, and the semovar has a warranty..either 6 months or 1 year...dont remember.

The semovar is a VV, VW and also a mechanical (when the parts come out.. not yet for sale)....and its cheaper there in the UK than the ProVari....The Provari is cheaper here in the US.

Those are your two best. The ProVari is time proven, but the Semovar from Svomesto appears to be here to stay.

Cut a long story short and save a hell of a lot of people the bother of saying "get a provari". Huh !. No i don't own one, never have, but, absolutely everyone here in this forum that owns one, which is quite a few, will say likewise. Just a heads up !.

Fooled you ....didnt I ? :p

Rest assured that you DO NOT have to go below 1 ohm for a perfect vape. Normal everyday "toppers" can be just as satisfying as an RBA/RDA on a mechanical mod or regulated electronic mod.

For a new vapor, I suggest that your first mod be a regulated mod. This will not only keep the vape consistant throughout the battery's life, but will allow adjustment with variable voltage and provide built-in protective circuitry which will guard against short circuits which can occur with the juice attachment, connector, fire switch, and battery.

Hello & welcome erotikpanda :)

Sadly there have been a lot of complaints about UK e-cig stores customer service on most of the e-cig forums & as you can see from this thread, they go back quite some time -

UKECigstore - experience with customer service? | ALL ABOUT E-CIGARETTES UK

Hence why I felt I had to remove their vendor status on AAE-C UK :( Plus I removed them from the following list of good UK e-cig & e-liquid sellers -

http://allaboute-cigarettes.proboar...-vendors-discount-codes?page=1&scrollTo=23191

I keep hoping they will get their act together as I know of folks that have met the UK e-cig store team & say they are good guys.

Thanks, yeah semovar seems like a very good option, perhaps I really should "settle" on it for now, cloud9 is where i saw it initially and they do seem to be helpful

Thank you, I will makes sure to got through the links. I mean the kts+ i have now is doing alright and all just has me worried since its a clone and all, really don't want to have a popped battery and the reason I am thinking of a full mech mod, well it's because I know that eventually I will get bored and will want to start building the atomizers myself, thus considering maybe it makes sense to get it from the start.

They really should, I've spent in excess of 200£ there (bought a few things for a friend when making my order) and not even bother responding to an e-mail is sort of rude.

Again thanks all for responding, any further information is always welcome and appreciated!

After much deliberation, research (read high and low on rebuilding and materials involved as well as countless youtube vids of people building), drooling and so on, I've made up my mind!

I will be ordering stainless steel Just GG and an Ithaka, so incredibly stoked about it! For daily use I'll have a safe mode going with 18350 AW IMR, kick and possibly a manger pro tank 3, Ithaka will be more of a weekend and evening fun with a bit of low 1s or sub ohm action.

Thank again for the input and an awesome forum community full of quality info, keep on vaping!
