Hello Vapors!

Just wanted to make my first post and thank everyone for the wealth of knowledge I have gained here. I read through the forums for several days before deciding to purchase my Ultimate Manual Kit from V4L.

I read tons of reviews about 510s, 801s, 901s, GreenCig, etc. and it sounded like the VK was the best for me. I smoke 1 pack/day of Pall Mall Lights and tried the Smoke Stik at the American Royal BBQ Competition in Kansas City last weekend. I had heard of e-cigs before but never tried one and after trying it out, think I might like it. After extensive research and tasting the Smoke Stik, I concluded that it was too sweet for my taste, and I didn't like the automatic battery and "starter" puff.

I'd love to go from analogs to completely vaping because quite frankly I'm tired of smelling like smoke, having bad breath, and the overall mess of ashtrays, butts, etc.

My biggest concern in switching however has been the expensive, battery life, and flavor. Here in Missouri I can buy a carton of my current smokes for $32 after tax. At one pack/day these last about a week and a half or so, but reading on the forum it looks like it may cost more with an e-cig. I realize my health and quality of life is more important than money, but being a college student, I'm strapped for cash! I don't particularly care to use the liquids and refill, but would rather just through another cartomizer on and keep puffing.

My second concern was the battery life, and hopefully I will be able to make it through most of the day on a single battery such that I won't be carrying around a bunch of extra parts (i.e.-batteries, cartomizers, etc).

And my final concern is flavor. I enjoy my cigarettes and would like to get something as close to the flavor of analogs as possible. I smoke a Black & Mild cigar on occasion, or something similar with a bitter/bland taste, but am not really into sweet flavors of cigars like peach, grape, apple, etc. When I tried the Smoke Stik, their flavor just seemed to sweet for me :( and that is what got me looking here on the forum. Boy am I glad I did!

So in conclusion, a short hello has turned into quite a lengthy post. I hope to receive my VK soon and with any luck will enjoy it and put down the analog cigarettes. I hope to breath healthy again soon! Hope to hear from others and will continue to read the forum and get to know each and every one of you! Good day.

Congratulations on making a very wise decision to quit the analogs... and once you get dialed in to your particular tastes and habits, It should be much cheaper...

Health is definately a HUGE factor in considering the costs of smoking vs vaping...consider this: In January, my brother in law had his palate removed due to cancer...the costs of this has been unimaginable to him and and those who love him!

Welcome to the club! :D

Welcome. :D

Well heres my 2 cents.

You can knock out issues 1 and 2 with an extra long manual battery. I was a pack and a half a day smoker and and the charge on the extra long manual lasts me a day and a half of vaping. Its 25 bucks for the batt but the life per charge is awsome. Cant comment on normal length manuals as I dont have any of those.

Im like you, a tabacco flavor man, so the first carts I ordered were the Mboros. Honestly they are kinda harsh for me. Fortunatly though Steve threw in some French pipe carts. Nice tobacco flavor with a mild sweetness bording on a vanilla-esque flavor. Dont quote me on that as its only been a week Ive been vaping and my tastre buds are still reanimating. But unlike you I liked the mild sweetness of it and ordered some caramel and blueberry carts to try out.

Now I know Steve has several other tobacco flavors adn as Im a newbie still you'll have to listen to others about those. Hopefully he's seen the posts about variety packs of similar flavors <------ HINT STEVE!! :p

I have the Kant coming today or tomorrow - can you comment on how it tastes to you? And the Virginia? So far the only tobacco I really like is the french pipe and it is a bit sweet....

I haven't tried the Kant yet, but will let you know as soon as I do! I'm Vaping on the Virginia 18mg right now and it is pretty sweet. Most of the flavors few flavors I've tried so far have been sweet. Is it something to do with the PG or something else in all the carts?

I'm using the manual battery and throat hit is phenomenal, almost too much at times! Not really seeing any vapor at all though? Is this common with Virginia or am I doing something wrong?

"I enjoy my cigarettes and would like to get something as close to the flavor of analogs as possible."

You say that now, but once you try peanut butter cup, chocolate, or vanilla after a nice meal, you will be singing a different tune.

Posting for truth.

When I started with my VK, I only had MBORO carts. Now, I smoke my MBORO/cowboy to get my morning fix, but if I am not spending the rest of the day between Mint, Menthol and Raspberry....whoda thunk it?

Like most new vapers, when I first started I thought I wanted only tobacco flavors. Now I can barely stand any of the tobacco flavors and instead love vanilla, cola, all the fruity ones, etc. So your tastes will probably change.

I know Steve has added a bunch new tobacco flavors, so you'll have a variety to choose from. Lots of folks like the Mboro (it might be called something else now like Cowboy or Reds -- there are other threads here about coming up with a new name for it). And some really like the French pipe, RY4, Kent type, etc. To me, and this is my own tastebuds mind you, the French Pipe tastes like smooth tobacco with a kind of chocolate undertone, but I didn't find it sweet at all. The RY4, on the other hand, does have a sweet tobacco taste. And to me the cappucinno tastes more like tobacco than cappucinno.

But everyone's tastebuds are different. There are so many flavors to choose from, I'm sure you'll find several that you like.

To be honest, I've tried a few flavors before now, and mixed a few of my own, and didn't really care for vaping them.

That was, until I got my order from V4L yesterday. Instead of the 5 pack of cartomizers in the flavor I'd selected, I got a bottle of that liquid instead, and an assortment of other flavors.

I'm truly blown away by how accurate the flavors are.

We need someone like the ice cream guys on City Slickers that can recommend the best after-dinner vape for any meal. :D

A big ol' stack of howdies to you, and welcome! The beer fridge is in the corner, just help yourself. And now it's time for a subliminal message: passthrough! passthrough! passthrough!

Enjoy, and let us know how you're getting along.

Andy

While your up....grab me one too!!!:D
