i’m starting out with a smok rda and 5 pre-made 1.7 ohm wicks. is it possible to pull the wicks out and insert cotton, and can i use regular cotton balls? is it safe to do that without an ohm reader? i’m running a 14500 mech unregulated.

i’m also interested in this rda:

...but it has dual coils so can i run just a single coil on it?

Replacing a cotton wick in there would be tricky. I say this because pre built coils are usually 32+g. The windings would easily bend. I did it for a while with my protanks. Ideally you want to build the coil around the wick for good contact. Give it a try, if you bend the coils out of shape just realign and try again.

1. get an ohm reader. they aren't that expensive and seem to be back in stock everywhere. it is crazy to mess with coils and not have this simple tool to prevent problems.
2. you can always just put one coil in any atomizer even if it can take two or more- just make sure the air hole is aligned with the coil on the side you put the coil on for better vaping(although it will still function, just not as well.)
