Hi everyone.

First, about me. I am 50 and had been smoking for more than 20 years. I bought a disposable BluCig on a whim 3 weeks ago and I was amazed that day I only smoked 3 analogs. I ordered the Volt kit from Smokeless Image and loving it (and the 555). I completed a seemless transition and am enjoying a new hobby at the same time. This forum has been invaluable to me and I thank all of you.

Now my question about steeping. I understand when receiving juice in the mail to steep it for the optimum flavor because it is freshly mixed. What about buying juice over the counter at smoke shops... I know it's been on the shelves for a few weeks should I steep that too or is it already as good as it gets?

Thank you.

The higher the VG in your juice the more you have to steep it to enjoy the flavor of it, especially in multiple flavored mixes. This is because VG is much thicker than PG, so flavor takes a lot longer to diffuse through the density of the VG.

I DIY my own 70/30 PG/VG juice and generally use only one flavor and I wait approximately 30 seconds to vape it and it tastes great. In fact, the more it steeps the worse it tastes when your PG is higher like mine. Often it will turn brown or a deep red color and then it doesn't vape as well. At least this is my DIY experience. I am sure there will be 10,000 people to contradict me though. I advise you go with what works. For me, fresher is better.

If you can't tell the levels of PG to VG in your juice (as most proprietary brands do), then there really is no telling.

I have also noticed that flavor tends to sit on top of the mix because if it has VG in it the flavoring is usually made out of combinations of PG and other chemicals such as alcohol so density says that the lighter substance will sit on top. I like to shake my liquids before I administer them to combat this.

most likely those juices are good to go and have been well steeped already, though it depends on their suppliers, their stocking habits(buying huge batches that sit around for a long time,or small batches that get replenished more often) the environment in the shop(hot/cool/cold) and the placement in the shop(avoid EVERYTHING sitting in an outside window display)
