I've been smoking since I was 14 or 15 and I just turned 30; the only time I was able to quit was during boot camp when I simply did not have access to cigarettes. I've tried cold turkey more times than I can remember and each time I thought I was going to die. I've tried gum, snus, and the patch and could never make it more than a few days.

The transition was seamless. Other forms of smokeless tobacco offer physical relief from with drawl symptoms but do nothing psychologically. NRT's tackle the problem from the wrong angle. Even though I know that I am not smoking a cigarette the addiction doesn't know any better when it comes to e cigs.
Even if it turns out that I can never completely free myself from nicotine addiction at least now I can be free of cigarettes.

After tooling around with and melting a crappy 7-11 Xhale I ordered a tornado/ergo tank starter kit from totally wicked. the 5 pre-filled tanks that it came with it have lasted for 5 days now, but I'm just about out of juice. I ordered 40 ml from another company for 30$us including shipping; it looks like that should last me another month. I can't believe how much money I will end up saving, 110$ for about a 5 week supply isn't bad when you consider that i was spending around 300$ in cigarettes in that same time period before.

My biggest concern about all of this however would have to be nicotine poisoning. When/if I start mixing my own fluid I will be dealing with some ultra toxic chemicals. 10% nicotine solution can easily kill an adult or even in a best case scenario require complete removal and hazmat disposal of the floor it was spilled on. I'm even a bit nervous about having 18 mg/ml solution in my house, my dog (pit bull hybrid) gets into everything. If he eats even just one of these 1.2 ml tanks I'm fairly sure it will either make him very sick or kill him.

Welcome to ecf. Glad you found us. Always keep your ecigs supplies out of reach of young ones and pets. You can order nic in any mg you prefer, so maybe that would be a good place to start instead of trying to dilute it(for now--until you work out a plan of action).
remember tho, the nic in ecigs is not the same as the nic in analogs. While ejuice contains nic, it also contains other liquids so we are only getting around 10-40 % of what we would get from an analog. This is why we find ourselves vaping more often or upping the nic content we use.

Feel free to ask as many questions as you want.

I have been looking into mixing DIY myself.. I would start with the more safe stuff... 36mg nicotine concentrate ( that is something you could actually vape ) and cut it down from there and add flavors and such.

I have not done it yet... but from what I have seen it could be done very safely.

The place I get my ready made juice from actually specializes in DIY stuff.

They do sell the very high nic concentrates… I don’t think I would start with that stuff, but that is just me.

I DIY with 100mg liquid. I haven't had an issue with it. Even when the bottle tipped on me and I spilled about 5ml on myself all I got was a slight buzz like I'd just had my first cigarette of the day. Obviously, caution is warranted, but the impression that a few drops is fatal I just don't find realistic in the concentrations we're working with. I keep it away from the pets and I wouldn't leave it out to be messed with by children. I look at it like some household cleaners. They can all be toxic if not used correctly, but I'm not paranoid about them.

I think buying in bulk at high concentrations is the way to go. with out flavoring you can buy a gallon of PG and 500ml of 100mg/ml solution for about 150$. thats enough precursors to make around 3L of 18mg/ml juice at just .05$ per ml(through box elder chemicals). it would of course take years to smoke that much and I'm not sure what the shelf life on this stuff is!

What do e-juice makers use for tobacco flavoring? The e-juice i'm smoking now tasted like tobacco at first but now I'm thinking that it tastes more like some sort of nut. All most like a dark peanut taste with a sweet undertone. It could just be my taste buds going crazy, I found out yesterday that I don't like peppermint mocha's anymore lol.

that's good to know, it must have issues absorbing on contact when diluted then. I'm sure it's still a good idea to wear rubber gloves and an apron when mixing it though.
