I have been lurking for a while and finally ordered myself a Joye 510 to start out from cignot.com

I have been a smoker for almost 25 years now at a 1.5- 2 pk a day habit currently.

2010 is the year for me to kick the Camels to the curb :p

A lot of great info here and I look forward to my new 510, hopefully this will help me kick the "analog" habit. I have read many of the success stories here and look forward to vaping....Thanks for the inspiration!

Thanks for the warm welcome...I bought the kit w/ the PCC and it comes w/ 2 free bottles of juice. I also ordered a 5ml bottle of the Toffee juice ( sounded too tasty to pass up!).

Anything else I will need in the near future (2-4 weeks?) :nun:

Sample size bottles of juices, it takes a while to figure out what you want your daily vape to be. Check out Chris at My Freedom Smokes, great selection and prices.
Extra carts to try your different flavors so you aren't washing out carts all the time.
Extra atomizers because they do wear out and you can get a bad one here or there that doesn't make much vapor.
Extra batteries so you have one charged all the time. Try some mega batteries for the 510 because they last twice as long as the standard (7 to 8 hours for me).
That should be a good place to start!

He meant mega batteries.:)

People around here report 2-3 ml a day usage. If you are going to try to switch completely you probably need more juice. Don't go over board though, you may hate some flavors.

OK. it comes w/ 5 "marlboro light" cartridges and 2 5ml bottles of "juice" plus the other 5 ml of the toffee ( I figure I can bring out the alchemist in me if I don't like them straight????)

Thats what I was wondering (what the usage would be per day in accordance with my analog habit of 1.5- 2 pks daily)

Maybe a passthrough for the home or car and the adapters. Juice mainly - get samplers from Nhaler and try out a bunch. Your tastebuds will change so easy on the buying sprees and 'sales'.

Oh, I thought the PCC was also a "passthrough". Do you have to buy one or can you rig one with a USB cable ? (I am semi-tech savvy :thumb:)

You can rig one. MadVapes LLC has everything you need. Well almost.

The problem with USB cables is the wire gauge is sometimes to small. I'm guessing here but the pass throughs you buy probably have 20 gauge wire, 22 maybe. The typical ready made cheapie USB cable can starve the atty.

Another thing to watch out for is many computers don't put out enough amperage to feed an atty. Many are buying stand alone USB power supplies 1 amp+, 2 is better. Or using a 5v wall wart.

USB Dual Power Adapter I've never used this but people say its good.

Oh yea. The 510 is probably the biggest amp hog of the standard e-cigs. All of the pass throughs for 510s have a battery in line. If you don't use a battery I wouldn't plug it into your computer. Its not a great idea to use the computer anyway. These things aren't known for their build quality. They can short and take out your computer. Not often but the cheapie adapter cost a lot less than a mother board.

Never had a problem aside from burning up of a chip on the 510 passthrough battery box electronics.

I have used straight-through box mods on 901s and 510s, and that 510 passthrough on every device I have at home, at work, and more (servers, workstations, XBOX 360, etc).

Hope you have better luck, but I don't buy eMachines. I build my own aside from hand-me-down/used notebooks, but no issues there either... hehee

But since I put a charged battery in my CHUCK, and kept one there I haven't picked up any passthrough/straight-through or other power source for my 510 yet.

If you want a ready built e-cig with a built in USB passthrough take a look at the Janty Stick. The V3 has just become available and it is manual. It uses cheap batteries and when plugged in using its USB connector the battery becomes the in-line battery and also charges in the Stick! Downsides are it is only 3.7 volts and it takes penstyle atomisers but adapter for 510 atomiser is available.

Emachines!? EWWWW!! Problematic the only good thing is the ones I worked on were quiet! You build your own too? I did that for my last computer and I haven't opened it since :) This time I used a quality cube shaped case with 4 front USB ports and they stay alive when the computer is turned off so my Kensington USB battery and other vapes charge at night!!

--edit-- oops I broke the quote somehow sorry about that!

Heh, Same here. I just don't want to advise someone and have their pos pass through short.

I used to hate consumer grade HP until I had to fix an eMachines. Now that was a pos.

I bought my first machine pre built. Never again. All my others are hand me downs/salvage that I have installed various flavors of Linux.

I used a pass through for a couple of weeks then built my fist big batt mod. Now its a dust collector.
