Picked up my first mechanical mod the other day and got an igo-l to go with it. I'm currently rebuilding my protanks with microcoils and cotton wicks. Was thinking of a micro sitting on a cotton cloud as opposed to threading a wick. Any thoughts, suggestions?. Also I'm currently using the pre done dual coil it came set up with to try it out and it is a very tight draw. What would be a good size to drill out the air hole to.

I also drilled mine to 1/16. It is airy but it coils the vapor well. This is my preference. Its all subjective some people have 2 1/16 holes side by side some at 180 degrees. Ive seen this done mostly when folks run the Igo-L as a dual coil. Igo L was my first RBA and I found it be a solid starter. Here are some of the links that I found helpful.

I drilled my igo w with a 1/16" cobalt bit with a drill press!
It is very airy now, I am having to use use a drip tip with a smaller diameter to get some resistance to air flow.
Better to start around 1.2mm or 1.3mm - and use a cobalt bit, the stainless is real hard, or you will snap your bits off.
My w came with 2 air holes, I blocked the other one off..
The cotton bed... go for it, it won't hurt to try...:2cool:

I got a cheap 20 dollar hand drill from Walmart and a set of drill bits. Works fine. I originally drilled it to 5/65 and then to 3/32 and now it's at 1/8. Super super airy but I've grown to like it, especially at sub ohms. You need airflow to cool the vapor so it's not so harsh.

Your build looks really nice though, well done for a beginner. Try getting the coils as close as possible!
