Today I built my first Nano Micro Coil :) I followed this video Nano Micro Coil build for Kanger Protank 2 - YouTube
I used 28 gauge Kanthal the tip of a juice bottle to wrap and Organic cotton for a wick
I tested the resistance it is at 1.3 ohms
I used the Calculator and I,m running it at 10.5 Wats on my Sigelei Zmax v5
It works pretty good the vapour production isn't what i,m looking for but i mite of packed the cotton to tight
All things considered it,s a small success for me :)
I have a few RBA,s coming in real soon and can't wait to build coils for them
I plan on running them on a mechanical Mod with 30 amp sony batteries also on the way real soon :)
If I did pack the cotton to tight would that affect vapour production?

Yes. If you have the wick too tight in the coil it will choke vapor.

If your wick bunches up forming shoulders outside the coil it's too thick.

If it is grabbing on the coil when you pull it thru it's too thick.

The type of cotton I run (CVS sterile rolled cotton) prefers a densely twisted wick that is just wide enough to contact the coil uniformly. The wick is twisted so it's the same thickness for the entire wick. I then trim the tails so they are short.

Here's a pic:

I hear that other types of cotton favor an untwisted wick that is not so dense but I don't know cause I've never used any other type.

Here's a video that has a good amount of detail on wicking that may help. Last time (only time) I watched a grim video he was calling coils micro coils that were not micro coils at all :)
