so I got my first reo and my first rba, a cyclone, in the mail today. I had a vmod before this which was good but leaked and was slightly unreliable. I received my reo today and was blown away at how solid and quality looking it is. I got the reo the set up quickly and easily and than went to work on the cyclone. I used some 28ga wire and some cotton to make the wick. I did 6 loops over and used my handy multi meter to ohm it out. it came out to 1.9, everything looked good so I fired it up. I got great flavor, good th, but basically no vapor production. if puffed on it i would get great vapor but doing a regular drag on it there was just a small cloud. I swapped in a vapage bf atomizer for the time being and everything is smooth sailing. the squonking is much easier on the reo than the vmod, the grand isn't nearly as big as I expected. im glad I got it over the 2.1. anyway, if anyone has any ideas on why my vapor production with my coil is real low feel free to comment. reo1.jpgreo2.jpg

thanks for the responses! and yeah I kinda wish I didn't buy the vmod, it will either be in the classifieds or sitting as a back up. ill try less cotton next coil, I still don't get how you guys get them so perfectly lined up. the feed hole for the juice is actually in the positive terminal on the cyclone and the air intake hole is on the side of the cap. not sure if that helps, im still learning all the terminology and the workings of rba's

Make sure your air hole and coil are pointing straight up as you vape. Meaning if you vape with your thumb near your chin that the air hole/coil is at your nose. makes a big difference. If the airhole/coil is pointing down then it will not produce nearly the amount of vapor as the other way around, also use less cotton as suggested and keep wet as to not burn the cotton.

wow I just took my reo out for a few hours to run some errands with my daughter (got suckered into a Barbie and two lollipops), and it was awesome. the best part is I came back to a bunch of good advice! I think what I like about the reo the most is I filled up with juice, slapped in my 18650, threw my vapage atty on there for the time being and it was like a set-it-and-forget-it type of deal. I didn't have to worry about running out of juice, or my battery dying. it vaped great, was easy to get a hang of the squonk too. a different squonk from the vmod, much easier I think so far. alright as soon as the princess falls asleep im going to get back to my cyclone. less cotton this time. I see what you guys are saying about the air hole. I do vape it with the button/my thumb, closest to my face so ill set up my air hole accordingly. when I ohm'd my coil, I put my positive lead on the positive terminal and the negative lead on the threads of the atty. is that the correct way? I got like a $400 mm from work so im assuming its giving me correct reading. touching the leads together prior to ohming gives a reading of 0 so no compensation needed after its ohmed

The airhole may be pointing towards your face but where is the coil? In your pics if you look at it from above and think of the button at the 12 o'clock position, your airhole looks to be 6 o'clock while your coils seems to be at 9 o'clock. They need to be at the same position to get the airflow across the coil. Once you get that right you can put an oring in the dripwell to get them oriented where you want them. After that height of the coil in relation to the hole and size of the hole can be changed to further tweak it in so its perfect for your taste.

one last question. how often do I have to change the wick? I prob vape around 4ml a day. is there going to be a sign like bad taste or weak hits or is it a good idea to change at certain time just to keep it fresh?

I change mine about once a week. I vape unflavored nic base though and it doesn't gunk up the coil at all.

You'll get to know when because the flavor will drop off :)

I have the same setup - Grand and Cyclone. I'm running a 1.1 -1.2 ohm micro coil with 28awg wire. Extremely happy with the setup.
For those unaware, the Cyclone's top cap doesn't screw on but is held in place ( firmly, I might add) by 2 o-rings.
As far as changing the cotton, it's so easy to do and so inexpensive, I change it daily or every other day. Also, based on another poster's idea, I keep a cotton ball stuffed inside the Grand between the side of the mod and the feedtube. Inadvertently singe the wick - no problem remove cotton ball from inside, pull some off, rewick and back to vaping.
Welcome to our little corner of paradise and try the micro when you have time . It's an unconventional coil, but I'm a believer.
