Sorry the quality sucks. To be honest though, it's really not hitting very well.

Here's the build:

Tips?

I'm with filthy-beast.....back up and start with a single coil. For one thing, you might have too much cotton there....looks like it to me. Also, that top coil could be blocking the air intake. If you make a single coil, place it where your lower coil is, and put about half the cotton in it, I think you'll get lots of vapor. Also with 28 gauge wire, I really pay attention to my post screws....they seem to just unscrew themselves. If you have both legs on each side through the holes, that could be the problem....make sure your post screws are tight.

If you need a .5 ohm coil, then maybe use one coil made with twisted 32 gauge wire so that you don't have to stack one up so high.

Hi zmauls :)

Do you typically vape dual coil?

Without the wick are the coils lighting up?

Can you also provide an overhead view of your setup?

When you say not hitting well, lacking in vapor...that can happen for a couple of different reasons (not taking anything else outside of the atty into consideration) ...

1) if you are vaping so the air hole is pointing towards you. If this is the case, try turning the mod so that the air hole is facing away from you.

2) based on coil placement in relation to the base, & air hole. (since I don't run dual coils, I can't clearly help you there.)

If it were me, I would probably start with a single coil first...get it where I like it, then take what I learned from that and apply it when building a dual coil set up. But regardless...keep us posted. I'm sure one of us can help figure this out.

Hey everyone.

Took bits and pieces from what everyone said, now I'm getting what I expected from my Reo.

Notes:
a) There was too much cotton. Thought it made sense that it should be stuffed to hold more juice, but thinking about it, the oppostie would be true as with less cotton you are burning more juice and less t-shirt fetuses.
b) Not sure if my coils were all bad, but someone asked if they got hot really quickly, and no, they did not. I was using 8 wraps per coil, because with my first single coil, I did 8 wraps and it came out to 1.2 ohm. I figured I'd half it with a dual coil to make it 0.6 ohm. This new single coil is 5 wraps and 0.7ohm, and gets really hot, really fast.
c) I got rid of the tails coming from the other side of the posts. Someone suggested my screws might be a bit loose; they were not. I was, however, able to tighten them to the point that the coil was secure and then wiggle the tails until they broke off.
d) Did I mention I was using too much cotton?

Thanks for the support guys. This is more than satisfactory. I will wait until my 26G wire comes in the mail to try new builds. Thanks for the warm welcome to Reoville.

Cheers. :toast:

Edit: @Rhapsodies, I used a dual coil with my IGO-W, but that's all. Until then, I was using genny's.

Welcome Z. I am glad you got it vaping the way it should. The people above recommended exactly what I would - simple single micro coil as a baseline.

It's a pretty lofty baseline too and you may find (as I have) that it's hard to beat and if there is a setup that does vape slightly better, the performance gains are negated by additional work and complicated rewicking in my opinion.

I like simple easy to duplicate setups. :)

Congrats :)
