Hi,

I'm ready to embark on my first DIY adventure! I found a site (VapePlay) that sells NIC 25mg/ 50%PG/50%VG pre mixed. I usually vape at 6mg Nic, I'm not quite sure if I should buy higher nic, we are just so broke right now, that I always look for a way cutting costs! I figure I can get about ~6mg NIC but then how to fill the gaps if I don't have extra PG/VG?? Not sure how to work it on the recommended calculator either.

BEFORE I place the order tonight with the above values, is it do-able? I'm buying the Nic base at one place and all my flavors at Mt Bakers, who I've used from the start and have never had an issue with and their flavors of 15ml are only $2.99.

If anyone can give me an indicator whether this is doable or if I should get their 9,18, 25, 35mg nic in any base... (or should a choose a diff base?) I'm 100% out and want to get my orders out tonight so I will get them sooner. :)

Thanks so much, have learned so much here!!!

Their prices seem reasonable, but I've never heard of them so can't comment on quality. Lousy tasting nic concentrate makes for lousy tasting juice...:)

Not sure why you want 50/50 VG/PG, if that's the ratio you vape there's easier ways of getting there.

If you bought 25mg 100% PG then mix it with the same size bottle of pure PG, and 2 same sized bottles of pure VG. The result would be 6.25 mg 50/50 unflavored base mix. When you add in flavorings it would drop the nic to ~6mg ot possibly slightly less, depends on the percentage of flavorings used.

This is what I'm looking for constructive criticism not, "no, you idiot that wont work!" LOL!! I'm just a beginner and am trying to work out the most economical way to do this. After reading your post, I think I figured out what you are saying ( math and I do NOT blend, like oil and water ) . And I get that. If that is an option I will see what it will cost. Frankly, I was given a very small budget and already bought flavorings which leaves me with about $15 or so to get the nic :( I'm always the bargain shopper chick and thought with their mix would make matters easier, dang it, lol!!! Anywhere you can point me with good prices, I'll take a gander! Thanks!

I was going to recommend Wizard labs but the shipping is expensive.
High desert vapes has a discount on nicotine right now.
Let me find the coupon code and I will be back in a moment.

https://highdesertvapes.com/product...ail&utm_term=0_dff1e791f5-e9fbc94238-22712089

It is discounted. They state it has some oxidation (it does not change the flavor). They sell Wizard labs nicotine and I have purchased from HDV a few times. It is within your budget. You could get the smallest bottle just to tide you over.

The coupon code is WIZ20

I hope this helps. You could probably pick up some vg/pg as well. It's under the diy supplies link
Hope this helps. I personally would vape the nicotine. I have nicotine stored in my freezer from Dec 2010. :) I also have some well oxidized nic I am vaping as well.

hello, here is a couple places I get my stuff
13.95 VG - Our Unflavored Smoke Juice (Nic Juice, Nicotine Juice) - My Freedom Smokes
6.95 PG - USP Grade Propylene Glycol - MyFreedomSmokes.com
if you mix these two together it yields -- 500 ml, 50/50%, 12mg for $20.90
------------------------------
6.95 VG 12mg - 12mg Nicotine solution - 120ml
3.19 PG - Propylene Glycol USP - 120ml
mixing these two = 240 ml of 50/50% 6mg for $10.14
------------------------------
$30 for 250 ml of NIC juice at MBV is pretty steep
I get all my other stuff from them though...

THIS is why I dont come here often anymore!! EVERYTIME I switch a page I have to re-login. It's pissing me off and I forget where I was going in the first place. GRRRRRR.

ANYWAY I'm at WL and they are asking what base I want my NIC in? We seriously need like "Beginner Buddies" here. I just need answers and can't get them, is there IM here?

Ok, I'll go back and read and most likely get logged out again, can't take much more of this! :(

My favorite vendor for nic is RTS Vapes, very good quality and service.

This 60 ml of 36 mg Flavorless Nicotine Liquid (select PG for the base) and add 120 mL of PG, and 180 mL VG would result in 360 mL of 50/50 6 mg base ready for flavoring.

(My KISS method...:)) .. you can buy the 60 mL of PG nic, and a 120 ml bottle of PG. For VG you would need the 250 mL bottle or pick up some USP Glycerin at the drug store. To measure the VG use the 120 mL bottle you emptied from the PG.

edit: You did save all your empty small bottles from your pre-mixed flavored juice to re-use for mixing up small batches to test your flavors?? :p

you're looking for 6mg of 50/50 (pg/vg) (which is simplest)

12mg ÷ 2 (50/50) = 6mg

buy NIC in EITHER, PG or VG (50%)
then buy the other 50% in the opposite

so now you bought (say) a
120 bottle of VG 12mg, then a bottle of
120 ml (no nic) of PG

mix the two together you get 120pg+120vg=240 ml of 50/50
which cut your 12 mg in half, now 6 mg of nic level

so you end up with a bottle // 240ml size - 50/50 (PG/VG) - 6mg nicotine (about $10)

:)

It is important to note that when using MBV (Flavor West) flavorings if you want a 50/50 final PG/VG ratio you will want to use anywhere from 15-20% flavoring in your mix. Take that into account with your desired nicotine strength.

To make just a 10ml sample of 10mg/ml nic base you will want to mix up something like this if you were to get your 25mg/ml 50/50 blend:

I hope this helps you out a little bit.

++++1 for RTS. Not to mention that using code Firstorder will get you 20% off your first order of PG, VG and Nic.

Good luck!

I just make my BASE to the levels I want (24mg - 50/50)
then add my flavor, knowing it will slightly dilute my nic content...

Sample 1A.jpg

the method you show is different than mine, makes me rethink
the technique I'm using...

I don't know how it is remaining a 50/50 blend in the end when you are adding 20% of a PG flavoring to a 50/50 base...

That would result in a 60 PG/40 VG mix with a 19.2mg/ml nicotine strength.

Did it not pop up with a warning saying that you cannot reach a 0mg strength? If anything like that pops up or says that you cannot use that ratio at the target nicotine strength and shows red negative numbers in the PG or VG area then you have to do some tweaking to your recipe.

When you add flavoring that doesn't have any nicotine content in it (any flavor company I know doesn't sell that), it will dilute the total mix down in nicotine strength which you already know. Also most flavors are PG based so as a rule of thumb (unless otherwise noted as a VG flavoring) you should include that into the recipe as 100% PG which will change the resultant PG/VG ratio. If you were wanting to get a 50/50 blend in the end as you suggested with some dilution of nicotine you should be using a 40 PG/60 VG ratio which will balance out to 50/50 when using 20% flavoring in the mix with a 19.2mg/ml nicotine strength using the mixing technique you described by just adding flavoring to the base without any extra PG or VG.

I was having that trouble with negative formulas,
but in a 'Juice Me Up', FYI or FAQ
they told me to set Target Nic Strength to "0"

so say making 15 ml with my base (24mg, 50/50)
I add 3ml flavor to 12 ml of base (20% ratio mix)
then I realize most flavor is PG,
so I guess at my final mix being apprx 22mg, 55/45 ??

that's my novice way of going about it, so far...

I did the math for you in the previous post I had wrote. but I am not sure why the calculator is telling you to do that. It does give you 15ml in the end but it is not with the right ratio or nicotine strength. If you click the x3 button in the top left you can add different nicotine strengths and it will show you what the result PG/VG ratio is and what the result nicotine strength is too just FYI.
