Hello all!

I went to the mall the other day with one of my friends, and we saw a kiosk that was selling electronic cigarettes. This was the first time I had ever seen one, so we stopped to look and both my friend and I were really amazed! I wanted to get one, but I've never been much of an impulse shopper and the price they were charging was $100! I think it was called Quantum or something, but I knew that if I looked online, I'd find better ones for a better price.

I've been reading the forums here a little bit, but I still don't really know much. I would like to get my first e-cigarette, because I think it could help wean me off cigarettes, and plus, it looks cool!

I would like to get one that looks kind of like the Puresmoker one, would that be the best one for that style? Like one that isn't huge, and has different colored LEDs. I looked at the Screwdriver, and that thing is HUGE, I could not carry that around and toke on it.

Also, what accessories should I get and how long as I expect this product to last? Thanks guys, any tips would be appreciated! And just for your record, the design I like best right now is the Mini pocket one with pink LED from Puresmoker, but then again, I haven't looked at many other sites with similar type e-cigs.

Welcome to the forums, Kii. TBH, my recommendation for any first timer is CaSH's penstyle at PureSmoker.com - Your #1 Source For ECigs, Parts, & Accessories!. It's a great starter e-cig with a balance between size and usability. The minis like the DSE901b are okay too.

Really, it depends on what your smoking habits are like. If you're a heavy smoker, Trog's Screwdriver is a godsend. However, if you're a light smoker, the 901 or even the super minis will do you just fine. Good luck!

The Mini "901" you saw is fine to start.I personally like the Classic Pen, but it is much larger.
The Mall ones are normally the same generic ones with someones name on the box.
$100 is alot for 95% of the E-cig sets on the market.

When you order, an extra atomizer and some liquid would be a good idea, at the least.
The parts do wear out, and when it breaks, your with out till you can reorder.
The juice is for refilling/topping off your cartridges.

Good luck with your new toys, and Welcome

Sounds like you need to look around a bit.
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/new-members-forum/2562-helpful-links-videos-new-user.html

Cartridges are the full liquid container
core is a filler for holding the liquid inside the cartridge
inhaler is what the E-cig is
the liquid is what makes it smoke
you can inject it or drip it to top off or refill your carts, you never want it to get dry, its bad for the atomizers.
It has to be E-smoke liquid, but goes by different names and sellers, and powers, and flavors.

4-6 smokes a day is nothing, so any would fill that need. the pen is my favorite. its big, but has longer useage time, that you dont need.
the 901 is a good middle e-cig, good all the way around, shorter useage time, but smaller.
the tiny minis, most people are disapointed with after a while, but if you are a real low useer, that MAY be a choice. they are not for heavy users.
Liquid i would say stick with the lower nic levels too for you, 16/18/11 or less.

I don't want to spend over $100, have a really big e-cig, and I would prefer ones with color LED choices. Are the ones from Puresmoker not very long lasting as you say? Is the mini e-cig a bad buy? If I buy one, I want to have a decent one that will work for a good while, and not something I get bored of or toss aside because it fails.

I almost ordered the mini e-cig last night, but I want to make sure I am getting the best for my money.. which is less than $100.

The Mini is the 901 (At PureSmoker), one of peoples all time favorites.
It has a few color choices. It is also under $100. You wont get board im sure, and the 901 type is a real good medium E-cig.
An extra atomizer and some juice is always suggested, but not absolutly nessesary. They will wear out in time, normaly 2-4 weeks, depending an useage.
Batteries do wear out as well but take a lot longer then the atomizers.
The Pen Style there is larger, you may want one of those too one day. If you are a real light user it may be more then you need, but you can not go wrong with one of those eather.

Hi Kii
My own experience with the dse901 is as follows.
When i bought my dse901, I bought a spare atomizer. I smoked 2.3ML (23 cigs) a day using it after just over 2 weeks one battery died so I build it into a USB battery. After smoking 90ml (900 cigs) my atomiser makes as much smoke as the new one which I did take out to compare once in a while. My liquid is now finished so waiting for more but after 90ml I still got my 2 atomisers working pefect the one I used 99.9% of the time the other just to compare and then put away. And 1 battery is still taking a fair amount of charge but not lasting as great when new. So if you have my luck a dse901 atomizer will last you 4 -5 months and the batteries about 2 months if you smoking equivalent to 6 a day. Ofcourse the unexpected always happens so keep spares of both.

Oh my god DO NOT BUY THE QUANTUM!!!!!!! 8-o I did. It has no draw, like smoking a solid plastic stick. It's crap, there's no ventilation holes to get air into the atomzier to produce vapour. Get the DSE901 or Penstyle from Puresmoker. His prices are great and he's awesome to deal with. I ordered stuff from him I didn't yet need just to give him business! Or there's a larger kit from www.thesmokelessshop.com, she has kits with 2 atomizers, 3 batteries and accessories like a case, blank carts, syringe for filling, etc...

Don't any veteran e-smokers here recognize the perfect candidate for a disposable e-cig? This person doesn't want to refill, drip, recharge, disassemble, reassemble, wash an atomizer, get stinky liquid on hands, deal with dying parts, mail 'em back ...

The future market belongs to the first affordable, completely disposable e-cig. It must last all day (for a pack a day smoker) and cost no more than a pack of tobacco cigarettes. And a low entry price would attract experimenters like Kii, so that he doesn't have to plunk down $100 for something he might not like and use at all.

It's a pity, Kii, that I can't yet recommend a disposable to you. But they're coming. Really, really fast.

Disposable e-cigs? I don't mind refilling, charging, and putting it together (since its only a few parts anyways), I just don't want a faulty piece of equipment that won't last very long and make me feel like I wasted money on some novelty product. I will pay $100 but not more than that, and only if its reliable and sturdy. Oh and I'm not a he, I'm a she. Hence, why I really want the Pink LED light :D

The starter kit looks very appealing, it looks like quite a good deal. Argh, but I would REALLY like the pink LED.

So let me get this straight. The 901 refers to the MINI, not the "Penstyle", which is just called the Penstyle, right? For a while, I thought the Penstyle IS the 901, but just 2 versions. Or is that right?

How much would the cost of maintenance be over time? I don't want to spend MORE money than I would on regular cigarettes. I'm a pretty light smoker, but I know the smoke is still hurting me so I want something cleaner. If I buy the kit for around $85 including shipping/tax (which is about 3 cartons here?), should i be expecting to replace atomisers and batteries very often?

I always thought e-cigs might be counter effective, even though you're not "smoking", you're probably becoming more and more addicted to nicotine. But I've spent money on much worse stimulants so I guess I can't complain.

I think you have it right.
The 901(mini) is the black one with the pink LED available.
The 801(Penstyle) is the bigger black one that looks like a big pen with its Cap on, or some say it looks like an antique cigarette holder.
The Big starter kit you saw may be more then you need to start, IF you want to get that, you will have everything you need for a while.
If you get the Pink one and spare parts its not much different price wise.
The Pink one i think is still unique to Puresmoker, if that what you want, then you know where to go.
Extending or becoming More addicted to nicotine i guess can happen, but if you keep the strenght of the fluid and carts down to low levels or even 0, you wont have that problem. You may also be a good canidate for the 0 strength, you still smoke, but no bad chemicals, just taste.
There are a couple people who use 0 levels and just like the taste, and enjoy useing these.

you have your info right:

a super mini = puresmoker's peewee
(have a super mini, it's the same size/look of a real cig, it smokes great, but batteries do not last long, and the carts don't either, but I like it)
901 = mini - bigger than super mini, but still small. I do NOT have one, but I'm tempted to get a 3rd ecig, and that will be the one. I want the pink one too, and I'M a guy. It's cute as hell. apparantly cartridge and batteries and vapour etc are all good.

penstyle = penstyle - the bigger one. I JUST GOT MINE TODAY. and it's great. black with blue led from puresmoker. time will tell, but the reports here say the batteries last a good while, and the carts too, and they look easy to refill.

here's what I suggest for you:

get the 901 MINI. get the basic kit, get one extra atomizer, and get empty cartridges (5 or 10, they are cheap) and get a bottle of liquid for refills. this will give you 2 batteries, the charger, 2 atomizers, and lots of carts/liquid to smoke. this could last you a month. as he offers free shipping on 100, then maybe get more stuff until it hits 100. look for the coupon code and you will get a discount. you could have your cute smoke in a few days.

Um what, $100 only last me a month?! Thats pretty... expensive habit. Where can I find the coupon code??? I really wanna get the pink led now, I think I've got my mind set on that. There's better deals with starter packs, but they only offer blue or orange LED. I thought about just going with the blue LED, but I know I'll be so much happier with the pink! :p

Also, once I buy a starter kit and have the chargers, in the future, I will only need to buy the atomizer and battery, right? And of course, cartridges. Whats the difference between the 901 and 901b or is it the same thing??

And one more thing... how much longer does the juice make the cartridge last? And how long will a 10ml bottle of juice last? If I like menthol, which flavor should I get? And if I normally smoke lights, is the 18mg nicotine too strong???

Sorry so many questions, I like to do my research thoroughly before dropping $100 on somethin I know nothing about :D

901b the B = black
Juice, if used to top off/refill your cart, it can last days that way.
18 should be ok, but you may go to 24 eventually. This stuff is a little lower then the numbers when inhaled.
Menthol i cant say, but from what i know none are exactly like, say, Newports/Salems
How long a bottle lasts depends how often you drip with it. Most people seem to use 1.5-2.5ml a day with pretty heavy use. Its still cheaper then all carts. The 901 carts dont hold alot, so you may refill more, but it dont matter how often you top it off.
You can reuse the charger over and over, unless you smash it somehow.
Batteries last longer, couple months maybe depending use.
Atomizers and juice are what youll order more often then anything else.
What your talking about will get you off to a good start.

Ok, been a reading lurker here for a few days now since I got my first e-cig. I got it Monday and haven't had a 'real' cig since. I'm totally stoked (pun intended) about this product. I bought the 901 and it's been pretty perfect for me. I too was a 'light' smoker unless around other smokers or a good drink. I ordered the juice on Steve's advice (he runs puresmoker.com) and um, got it today... SHAZAM! It made all the difference.

Now, in all honesty, yes, I researched and read the forums and was all set to go with a set on ebay of the 901 when I read a review on puresmoker.com. I decided I wanted to go with a site that was dedicated to the knowledge and would help me through learning. Ladies and gents, I'm sooooo glad I did. Steve has been a tremendous help in my education and his customer service is top notch. I ordered my first e-cig last Friday, he sent it Saturday and it was in my mailbox on Monday! I ordered the juice Tuesday, he sent same day and I got it today! I got the minty menthol and the cherry and can I just say... YUM!

Rock on Puresmoker.com and all you vapeing pals out there! :thumb:
