Hello everyone, my name is Blake, i'm 24 years old from Southwest Ohio...

short bio, i started smoking when i was about 16, and have been battling it ever since, my Mom and Dad smoked for my entire growing up, and when i turned 16 i felt like i had to see what all the hype was about, unfortunately, after one time, i was pretty much stuck. I quit for about 8 months cold turkey a couple years ago, and thought i was doing great... then with some added stress from work and other things in life, i started back up... i've been off and on between cigs and cigarillos for the past year or so, and i really want to quit. I'm married now and for the longest time my wife didn't know about my little habit, i kept it secret as best i could, only smoking when i wasn't around her or people who knew my family, only smoking at work and on the way to and from work. I found myself alienating myself from my wife when i would get home from work, until i after i 'destunkified' myself (lol that's not even a word).. but i wouldn't get near her until i took a shower and brushed my teeth and all that to try to get the smell to go away.

Anyway... i started vaping today for the very first time, i joined the ECF forums, and was talking to some people in the live chat, who recommended the Mistic disposable to just get a taste for vaping and see if it was something i was going to enjoy at all.

So, this evening i ran out to wal-mart and picked up a Mistic 1 just to give it a try, after a few puffs on it, i thought i should come on here and do a post :D

Hopefully i will be around here for a while, and i will be able to share my non-smoking progress with all of you!

You didn't say if you liked it or not. I'm trying to figure out all this stuff and I guess if there was a disposable one I could try I would like to. You said you bought it at Walmart? Really? What department?

im enjoying it so far, it's quite a bit different from smoking, namely, the taste and smell.. but those are both good things lol... it gives a pretty hard throat hit, feels almost like smoking a marlboro red, which i used to smoke but a few months ago switched to marlboro lights, so it's a little hefty for me, if you like menthol they have that option too.

i got mine from walmart in the tobacco aisle, i just told the lady i wanted a Mistic 1, it's a red box with a 1 on it.

i figure for 7 bucks it couldn't hurt to try it.

Hey Blake,

I grew up in Southern Ohio around everybody smoking all the time, too. I tried my first when I was probably about 11, but didn't develop a habit til I was about 14. My adventure with e-cigs has so far just been with Bloog and Vermont Vapor and Johnson Creek. The size of the Bloogs mimics analogs enough, especially if you get the autos, that the transition doesn't feel that dramatic. My first two goes with it weren't terribly successful, but I was undergoing other health problems at the time. Seems to be working better this go round. Good luck!

Congrats Blake.. get a good set-up and you'll be as hooked on vaping as you were on the stink-sticks!! Tons of good info here, though it can be really confusing. I'd recommend starting with something like the Elite 808 from CigEasy (and no, I don't work for them!) I have one and I'm obsessed with it! Good battery life and you can't beat the price for a starter kit. I also recommend sharing with your wife.. I'd bet she'd be amazingly supportive of your efforts. I've been married three times (yes, three!) and I can tell you from experience.... the fewer secrets, the better! Good luck and keep vaping!!

I gotta say, I just like the term "Vapee"!

Lol, thanks pater, i just wasn't sure what else to call it.

as far as what kit/system im going to start out with... there is such a huge variety it's hard to choose, so yes if you have success stories, or if you have suggestions, please go ahead and guide me in the right direction.
