Just got my ego-c in the mail today along with 8 flavors from mtbakervapor.

I loaded up the atomizer head into the body as per instructions, charged the battery to full, and started steeping all the flavors I have (Just letting them sit with no lid/nozzles).

I expected it to taste abit off due to them still needing to steep, but the first couple drags were just awful - Chemical, almost smelled like burning. Couldnt really tell if it was vapor..or actual smoke.

So I load up a new tank, making sure not to fill to the top. A little better...but still really gross. Tried several more, some abit better - but i've been smoking it for now 7-8 hours off and on and its still pretty gnarly. I'm also having a tough time inhaling or taking longer drags (I make sure to make sure they are slow drags) without wanting to cough. It also leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Should I try a new atomizer? Is it the because its new juice? I can't seem to figure it out.

I had the same experience when i first got the Ego-C. Sounds like the atomizer isnt wicking. Kent C gave me some good advice. Try taking a toothpick or similar and gently push down the wick that is located atomizer tube towards the atomizer base. Just push it a little, not too me. This seemed to help me. Also I had some LR atomizers that always burned and had some kind of primer liquid on it - long story short I determined the entire batch was faulty and thru them out. You can also drip directly into the atomizer to determine if its a wicking issue or not. I hope this helps. I have sense moved onto EVOD clearomizer with 1.8 ohm atty, works nice with 3.3v ego.

If its not your unit then it might be the juice... I got some juice that their additives irrated my throat and I ended up giving them away.
The atomizer is suppose to have a break in period but thats only the first few puffs. Some egoC tank have the little hole already made and other don't...maybe you got the ones that you have to puncture and the little plastic knobby thing inside the tank is blocking the flow of juice to the atomizer and giving you the dry gnarly hits. When you push the carto into the tube you should feel it connect and then turn it a little to properly seal the carto to atomizer.
I had a egoC for about a week and they are good units but I went back to the clearo's and sold the egoC to a friend who was just starting out. I got tired of constantly refilling them with their itty bitty tank.
Be sure if your going to use the egoC on a regular basis you have lots of replacement endcaps or entire tanks onhand, cause the little hole in the tank wares out quite quickly from the refilling and they begin to leak. I also used a syringe( easily obtained from a local vet) with a large diameter needle to refill them cause some juices don't have the long nipple just the stubby ones on their bottles and the stubby nipples don't fill the tanks without making a mess.

Personally I never found any Mtbaker juices vapable for me but if you were on a very tight budget you cant compete with price.

Second you should really try using a clearomizer. I like the Kanger T3 they are the most no hassle ones I have found. Or even the CE6 models. In my opinion the most important factor in vaping is your Clearomizer or tank. This is where you should invest your money.

Looks like boiling the ato's helped quite a bit.

I placed an order with a Canadian company today for more juice (This way I dont have to wait 3-4 weeks again, and pray my order isnt seized). I shot them an email to add x2 Kanger EVOD BCC Clearomizer. They didnt have the Kanger T3's, only the EVOD BCC or the ProTank Glassimizer (Didnt want to budget $17 for one quite yet)

Lets hope this solves the problem!

The CE4 and CE5 clearomizers are the ones I use and so far having very few to no problems with them. The replacement parts are common, simple to clean and maintain. Be sure you get the clearo's with a ring of texture on the bottom..those you can replace the atomizers in them. The ones that are smooth at the bottom are disposables and they are chitty.
If your after juices Maple Leaf vapes IMO has some great juices...Ya try to stay away from the american ecig companies or you will have customs hassles but the delivery from Texas to Idaho is 2 days through UPS vs across a couple provinces can take up to 10 days with our good ol' Canada Post.
I would to get my greedy little hands on some juggys but just haven't been able to connect to place a order in their small window of operatunity.:glare:

No I haven't bought from Canada E-Juice. There are more juice and vendors who sell juices than my lungs can take. I would like to try as many as possible but prolly never find the perfect vape since so far I got a huge list of favs that I vape.
E-juices is like the old saying "One mans Garbage is another mans Treasure" goes with juices. I bought some what I thought was nasty nasty 555 and gave it to a friend who just loves it...go figure. If it doesn't taste right or smell flowery then you gotta let it steep at least month past born date. There are lots of threads on steeping in here but I have enough stockpile now that I can let juices sit for weeks so they blossom into perfect vaping material. The dekang juices are out of the box vapable but so far almost all the juices I've ordered had to sit with the caps off in the closet for extended time before I would partake in their bounty.:vapor:

I know people who have the EVOD and like it. I do have the Kanger protank and was somewhat disappointed. They are almost identical. It vapes about the same as a Kanter T3. I have gone through a wick about every 5ml of juice which is not good enough for me. It might be that the free wicks it comes with suck and once I get to the ones I bought it will get better. Other then that I like the protank. Someone else recommend the CE4 / CE5. I think the CE4 does not produce enough vapor. The CE5 I like a lot and tastes very good however if you vape too often you will get dry hits without turning it on its side. They also are very easy to rebuild. The biggest flaw is that if you keep yours in your pocket like me it sometimes bends the plastic out of the metal and will leak in your pocket. They also leak from the top by design. This is only a problem if you fall asleep with it and it ends up top down and leaks on your bed.

If you go to fasttech.com you can get the CE5's really cheap where you can afford to simply dispose of them.

As far as juices because I have bought a lot of bad ones. To be sure if you like tobacco try boba's boundy from alien vision if you like bakery try zombie apocalypse form aliceinvaporland. Zombie apocalypse is my favorite and I do not like tobacco juices. Some other good out of the box juices are pina colada from ivape.net or cinnabun form myvaporstore.com. 10 out of 10 of my friends like these.
