First time vaping in public

Hi. So I took my 510 out last night for the first time. We went to a bar. I'm using the drip method. I didn't want to fumble with parts and liquid and the bottle's cap etc. while standing unsteadily so I use a little shelf alongside a wall to set the things down the parts down.

Security immediately rushes over and demands to know what I'm doing. I show him the bottle and he's still not convinced. He wants me to demonstrate but won't allow me to drop my "illicit substance" into my "illicit device". He calls the manager over. It's not until I explain that I'm trying to quit smoking do I get some understanding and an OK.

It made me laugh. It was my first time using it in public and I was trying to be discreet. We were out on the smoking patio too! He said he thought I was gonna snort who knows what. Who snorts a liquid?

I imagine I'll have further misunderstandings in the future too. hahah

What misunderstandings/funny run-ins have you had?

I use a two piece Bloog (my first PV) so I don't have all the extras to take with it but being it is black with a blue LED it is obvious it's not a cig so I have gotten some real strange looks but noone that has asked/said anything about it yet. Although I'm not a real "approachable" looking person

I went to a party of 60 year olds last Saturday night. I take my e-cig outside, just as I did with the analogs. One of the smokers said he'd love to quit cigarettes, but nothing he had tried worked, so I showed him my 910, and offered to let him try my extra one with a new cart. He took one hit, and said "oh, I can do this". Three other smokers tried it, and they all asked for the web site where I got mine from (diyflavorshack.com). So far, I've had positive reactions to the e-cig. But, I am in the Southern USA, where smoking is still more common, so I don't expect anyone to be all weird about it.

Good for you, Cava. If you can help others quit, more power to them and to you. (As long as they don't buy out my suppliers and leave ME high and dry!)

So far, I've had positive reactions to the e-cig. But, I am in the Southern USA, where smoking is still more common, so I don't expect anyone to be all weird about it.

I'm in Southern Florida, and it still amazes me that I work with about 200 smokers and am the only one vaping. People are intrigued and will ask about it ... But not one has shown any real interest in getting their own PV. And they've all seen me go from 2+ packs/day analogs to 100 + days cig free.

Lol, so ****ing true, hahha. Isn't it sad that so few people like change? Change is inevitable. The best way to overcome unexpected change is create change of your own, your own personal revolution. Hell yea!
