Hello ECF, I've been smoking Newport shorts since 1980. Last year I switched to Newport Red Box in an effort to wean myself off analogs. Went from 2 pks daily to 1, then eventually smoking 1.5 pks a day.

Today I received my Ego Twists, charged them and started vaping. I only ordered 2 - 10 ml juices, both NiQuid menthol. One called Bahama Blizzard
It is a perfect paring of orange, cranberry and peach which is blended and frozen with cool sweet menthol.

I dripped ten drops, a few primer puffs, and then hit it like a champ. BIG MISTAKE. Nearly coughed up a lung.

Next I read this, User technique - ECF InfoZone .
I also tried different settings after viewing both pbusardo and grimmgreen - ego twist on youtube. I have been dripping for 90 minutes now, varied settings, long slow pulls, but the flavor is not there - just the orangy background flavor and menthol. And the only way that I can get a throat hit is to take a short pull, hold, then inhale. Looking for the sweet spot. Hopefully I can get to Baltimore Saturday to pick out juices in person before running to Roanoke to pick up my daughter.

Not complaining, just mentioning. Thanks for listening.

+1 what hank says. Tell your brick n mortar stores in Baltimore that you want to buy a well steeped juice and ask to try some other flavors too. Generally newly mixed juices need to be uncapped for the first couple of days to let the alcohol evaporate, then put lids on and shake daily. Some flavors can take a long while to mature, weeks even. For example, I love Pchelas Poison from Mom n Pops. When I got a refill it was blonde colored...What?!!! But after a few weeks doing the above, it's now coffee colored, and the taste is altogether A1 superb, not raw alcohol and perfume tasting. Just giving you an example of what happens to a juce over time and why your B&M needs to give you well steeped purchases while you order other favors online. As to the vaping itself, try and picture dad, grandpop or similar in the garden in his deckchair on a summers day philosophically smoking his pipe. That is press battery button as you bring it to your lips, take a couple of 2-3-4 second inhales (whatever is comfortable), hold in your mouth, savor the flavor, inhale if you wanna, don't if you don't then exhale through the nose (or mouth, personal preference again). Vaping is a longer term experience like a pipe vs, having a quick smoke behind the shed kinda thing. Good luck!

Ha ha ha. You are in to instant gratification huh? You know. You can. Call some these juice places. It's how they make their living. Read EFC and get an idea of who is good. Leave a message and say you were informed they call back and give great customer service. tell them. Newport. Strong throat hit. Etc... The coughing will happen until you figure out your style of vaping and finding your sweet spot can take weeks? So do not despair. Thanks for the funny. Have fun

For taste, I recommend steeping the ejuice. I cannot comment on dripping as of yet, but maybe you should try a cartomizer. Also what strength juice did you get? 24mg?

Good deal..will try steeping. Not ready for the clearo that I have just yet. Gotta ride this one out ...lol

Great advice! Putting it through the paces.

Try two to three drops at most at 4.2 volts or 4.0 volts it sounds like your atty is flooded it sometimes takes a couple days to break in an atty keep at it it will get there for you.

It is indeed flooded. I hear gurgling. I was trying to avoid the dreaded dry hit.
Didn't realize it took that long to break in an atty.

You seem to know me well...thanks.

Hi and Welcome! Please don't call it tooting.

Yeah, that word is not part of my vocabulary.

Hi! I recently got started myself and was a min of a pack a day newport smoker for 15 years. I've tried a couple of different flavors but so far my all day vape has been Newpark from Vapesales.com. I did the 18 nic level. Might be worth a try. It's worked for me.

Thanks.

Well said.
This quote took me farther/quickly to the place I want to be.

Amazed that now I subconsciously reach for the juice before running dry...well, not every time - but getting there.

Weeks? Wow. Glad that I did not know this previously. It took 14 months for me to actually order product.
OK, got to the point of vaping comfortably. Not rushing it...no hot boxing.

On the bright side, my short road trips should turn more pleasurable as I won't have to plan scheduled smoke stops, or delays.

Thanks for the help forum members, the training wheels are off for the time being.

There are a number of juices that resemble Newport analogs.

NPort by DeKang is pretty good. House Menthol Tobacco from Goodejuice is also pretty good.

If you get frustrated with dripping, like me, you may consider another method. The tank/carto combos are quite good.

I use a DCT tank by artemas. The juice delivery is constant and the flavors are quite nice. Let me know if you want more info.

Typed on my mobile. Please excuse typos.

I appreciate your offer. Thanks.
I actually want to find a good non-menthol. Maybe a fruit or something like citrus.
I have been dripping on a 510 atty. Not sure of the pg/vg blend. Pretty much content at the moment with dripping - even though I have clearo's unopened. You will be the first that I pm if I fell the need to change.
Today I took a road trip to Roanoke, Va. Smooth uneventful round trip - nicotine wise.
Heading to B'Mo soon to a B&M to select juices. In the meantime, I will order 10 or so juices and few atty's from Altsmoke.
I'm just glad to be on this journey.
