One year ago, July, Friday the 13th I smoked my last cigarette. After suffering a chronic sore throat, I had received a little 901 cigalike starter kit in the hopes of giving my throat a break with what I read (after researching on ecf) was a cooler vape. I wasn't even planning on giving up the cigs since I'd already visited a ear, nose and throat specialist who ran a scope down my throat and proclaimed I didn't have cancer. Weird how our minds work. I was just planning to take a week break from my 37 year, 1.5 ppd habit.
Anyway, it worked like magik and like many of you, my journey began to evolve as I ventured down the path that many of the vets here trailblazed, machete in hand long before I ever stumbled in. Ego twist, tube mods, clearomizers, cartos, rba's, etc. ECF, my friends and the members here have always been there to assist and help out so... BIG THANKS!!
When I first began vaping I was quite enthusiastic (almost like a religious zealot) and converted 12 fellow co-workers. For a while, they were calling us 'cho and his disciples' ( yes, chohan is a nick even some of my friends at work use) but there were a few hardcore, love-my-smoking holdouts. I was sitting and vaping Saturday evening before I clocked in, looking across to the next table, watching a couple smokers, just observing and couldn't help but make comparisons. They actually exhale very little smoke, ever noticed? I mean compared to even a half-decent carto much less the rba on my reo goosebox. On the exhale they get that same look on their face like I used to, the squinty-eyed gotta keep this smoke out of my eyes look. Didn't look like they were really enjoying or savoring the flavor, just a habit thing.
I can't believe I was actually spending over $200 a month for that. Then they act flabbergasted when one ask me how much my mod cost. Less than you spend one month on cigs. I mean, really?
Isn't it amazing what we as humans do to rationalize or validate our choices? I don't push it anymore, I just shake my head and roll with it.
Oh well, I didn't mean to go off on a strange rant. I just always feel that when I'm posting here, it's with folks I can relate to. It's a nice feeling. Thanks again ECF mates and enjoy your vape.
