In A Padded Cell
Day five of vaping for myself and hubby. Not totally off the analogs yet. Still need my morning fix for a few reasons. However, I am still on the same pack of smokes since Monday, husband has gone through about three, a far cry from 8-10 packs.

Was a bit of an investment, I ordered a good started set and then ordered various juices from several different suppliers, waiting for most of them to come in. Hoping to find the ''right'' one.

Prefilleds, good for the first couple days except I felt like I was token on cigars more than a cig.

Got sampler from JC, what was I thinking when I ordered it nic free? I get more vap dripping but would like a heavier feel to it.

Waiting for some tasty vapor stuff and an order from halo to come in.

It's gonna take me about 3 months to break even factoring in our current analog usuage but hoping the investment pays off.

I am missing the constant stream of smoke an analog gives. Kinda having trouble getting over the no start/no finish of the ecig. I am one of those smokers who kind of times themselves by the amount of cigs they have-sit down and take a smoke break, when smoke is done, break is over....I'll get to it after I have a smoke...two/three smokes at the puter in the morning with coffee, then upstairs to get ready for work. Obviously my addictions fall more into the habits catagory and the changes are a bit tough. Anyone with some thoughts or suggestions?

I started with the 0 nic fluids and I was flying through them because I wasn't getting the throat hit and vapor I needed to feel like I was smoking. I then ordered 24 nic and that did the trick. I was getting the kick in the back of my throat and vapor like a champ with my titan 510. I would suggest trying a higher nic strength and count the drags you take to symbolize your analog. around 10-15 drags did it for me. I've been completely smoke free since september 12 2009 and that's what helped me.

I am only on my 2nd day, and noticed the same thing. I am so used to having my cigarette and then moving on to the next thing. I have slipped a couple times also, having an analog, but no where near as much without the vaping. I think it's a matter of getting used to it and making adjustments. I am thankful for smoking less already, and hope that it just keeps getting better. :)

First, Welcome Aboard and good luck to both of you. Habit is the key word and you nailed it right on the head. Something we are such creatures of, many here have tried to light the end of their e-cig with a lighter, thrown them out of a car window driving down the road, tried to snuff them out in ashtrays and the list goes on and on.

As any vaper will tell you, there is a learning curve. Most of it is habit, then the remainder is "training your brain" to accept vaping as the new way of smoking. As you know, cigarettes contain over 4,000 chemicals and although we know about the addictive nature of nicotine in them, there are other chemicals that over the years the tobacco companies have put in them to keep you addicted so they can continue to rape you of your hard-earned money.

Vaping does emulate/simulate that "actions" of smoking pretty well. I've found that the more vapor the better. Just as an experiment, I once smoked a cigarette in a completely darkened room. After stepping out, I didn't feel as if I had just smoked one - strange. The flavors are so unlimited too, something cigs never provided. The advantages just so much outweigh smoking analogs. No more smell, smoke, ashes, lighters, butts, ashtrays, smelly clothes, fingers, cars, house. No more smokers cough, better breathing, blood-pressure, more energy, stamina, no more out of breath just getting dressed or taking a shower.

It's time to screw the tobacco companies and stop using their products. Accept vaping as your new way of smoking and you will be successful. And don't worry about one or two analogs a day because many long-term vapers still smoke if they have to. As you said you've already reduced your tobacco use dramatically which in itself is a big deal.

Good Luck and Vape-On!

Dripping rather than using cartridges helps a lot of people time their usage so it is more along the lines of a cigarette break. Most people say 2-3 drops equals a cigarette for them. Personally, I take very long drags directly into my lungs and I find that I need around 4 drops to give me a good 10 drags, so I have to drip twice for my cigarette breaks.

So very well said. Once people learn what really works for them it's what I call vaping heaven. It really can't get much better!
