After watching the videos done by vape Team on ECC, I really wanted to try five pawns! I ordered their sampler for $27 shipped, thats all 5 flavors at 4ml each (the bottles are filled to the brim, so I don't doubt if its more). This is my first time trying any sort of high-end and extracted e-liquid.
I am trying one flavor for an entire day and doing the review after that. I am using a Reo Grand and Reomizer with a 1ohm coil and a fresh cotton wick, dripping right onto the coil instead of squonking. Everything is 12mg.
First up is Queenside.
First impression: The blood orange is pure. I immediately notice a difference between this and the artificial flavor.
Half the day: A very clean and refreshing vape, the taste doesn't linger after taking a break from vaping. The blood orange and vanilla go very well together and form a uniform flavor that makes it hard to differentiate the taste of each flavor. Inhale is a creamy yet mildly citrus flavor, a lot like what I would expect from a high-end creamsicle (SP?). On the exhale, I notice a lot more of the orange. I don't get any sourness, but instead a mellow and warm orange. Each hit I enjoy this more and more.
Conclusion: If you want to get away from the typical orange cream flavors, I highly recommend this. I can see this being added to my collection since I really like citrus, cream, and vanilla vapes (this has all three!). The vapor is what you would expect from a 50/50. Throat hit is on par with the other 12mg juices I vape.

More coming either tomorrow or the next day (I will be adding them to this thread)! Any questions about this flavor, just make a post. Vape on!:vapor:

Gambit
First impression: This is NOTHING like apple pie a la mode. It is good, but I'm getting no apple, slight crust, a lot of caramel, and some vanilla.
Mid day: Apple has come through, but it is mellow (as described on their site). The crust is complimenting other the other flavors. Vanilla and caramel are going AMAZINGLY with the apple and crust. The apple is not like biting into a fresh one, but instead of the soft and soggy apples you get after being baked. There is no real cinnamon, which I think a light hint of would make this really pop.
Conclusion: This is like if grandma went to cooking school and got very innovative. The savoriness is out of this world and I have to keep myself from swallowing the vapor:laugh: I can see how this could be mistaken as a vanilla caramel vape as the crust and apple are so light. If you're looking for an apple pie without a ton of apple, this is for you!

I'd love to see a longer term review of these... or a "re-evaluation"

Because I was the same way with Gambit... It wasn't until I had some a couple days after my first taste that I realized the flavor had very different subtleties depending on the time of day, weather, i don't know... there are definitely times I have trie dit when I got much stronger apple notes... And I'm also pretty sure there's cinnamon... or maybe its nutmeg... but thewre is most definitely a spice not... long story short, the complexity of this juice is second only to Five Pawns' own, Castle Long Reserve

Unfortunately, I vaped through the entire bottle of Gambit in a day. It was that good! I think I will be ordering more and will definitely take your idea into consideration :)
I also tried Bowden's Mate and can't say I'm worthy to do a review. I have never liked minty/menthol and whenever I vape something with mint in it, that is all I taste. To be honest, it tasted very similar to Namber's Mistress but a lot cleaner. Definitely taste the chocolate, but couldn't get myself to vape it for more than an hour or two.:(

Don't worry about Bowden's... I can't vape it for the same reason... I also can't do Absolute Pin, the absinthe is just too strong for me(even if it is super light).

Gambit, Queenside and Castle Long Reserve, however.... I could vape those all day, every day.

I vaped through Grandmaster and Absolute Pin during my shift yesterday (working a double shift with no real work to do makes me vape A LOT). This is will be a two-fer.
Grandmaster
First Impression: My mouth actually feels like I just ate some peanut butter. Ya know, the dry mouth sort of feeling and the flavor coats my mouth. Banana is virtually non-existent for me.
Mid-Day: I got used to the odd feeling in my mouth. I can smell the banana cream when I exhale through my nose but still can't taste it. The caramel pairs well with the peanut butter to create a very sweet and "baked" vape. It reminds of something I could have just pulled out of my oven. I can imagine this being top-notch with high voltage/low ohms to create a very warm vape.
Conclusion: This is my first peanut butter based eliquid, but from my inexperienced opinion this is supreme. Definitely a must try for anyone who enjoys bakery style eliquids.
Absolute Pin: Not too much to say about this, but it is good enough for me to mention some things. The one cinnamon flavor I have tried was from Mister E-Liquid and I really didn't like it. The cinnamon tastes very similar to what I had tried but is enhanced by the Absinthe. Neither flavor is really over powering to make this absolutely disgusting, which seems to be easy to do with cinnamon and absinthe flavors. They have the flavor levels just right on this.

I appreciate the feedback! Mister E-Liquid is my go-to vendor (Michigan based, good prices, and some very good prices) and I have almost every one of their flavors in sample bottles so I was thinking about revisiting most of them after they have done some proper steeping! Ha!
So maybe expect some other reviews from me? Depends on school and work at the moment, I've been on ECF less and less often lately.:(

After reading this thread yesterday... I'm currently vaping some Queenside, which I haven't done in a while...

It's the Blood Orange, I think, that really sets this apart from other Orange/Cream liquids... Because it's not a super complex flavor, especially by Five Pawns standards, but it is still on a different level from other liquids...

It could be the use of a real vanilla extraction(not sure, just hypothesizing)... but it's just something about the purity of flavor and the perfect ratio of tangy/sweet/creamy, this is an excellent mid-day vape

I wasn't getting any apple pie flavor from Gambit a few weeks ago when I first tried it. I got it back out today and filled a clearo with it and it still tastes the same to me. Not bad, just not the "to die for" flavor that I anticipated. I don't really know what I'm tasting but it isn't apple pie or anything close to it.

My taste buds are obviously off. My wife vapes too so I handed it to her and asked her to describe the flavor. She had no idea what it was or what it was supposed to taste like. She took two vapes and said it tasted like apple pie.

Kudos to Five Pawns for getting this one spot on. I just wish I could detect those awesome flavors myself.

I'm vaping me some Gambit today...

and I definitely taste apple, RED apple... a very natural flavor, not candy fake apple flavor, that may be why you don't notice it as much.

The flavor definitely changes based on time of day, food/drink I have with it, weather, etc.

I do notice that when i get less apple flavor, I get a stronger, almost caramel/vanilla flavor reminiscent of RY4, minus the tobacco. There is also a buttery undertone and of course, the spice blend(cinnamon? nutmeg?)

You may also be losing some of the fine flavor characteristics due to your Clearo use... I've only vaped Five Pawns on Rebuildable Drippers and a Kayfun Lite... even when i sampled their juices at their tasting room, I was using the K100/Igo-W sample setup.

MAN I love this juice. It's my favorite liquid... but only because Castle Long Reserve is so pricey.

LOVE their juices.

Grandmaster -- is my first choice. I love Peanut Butter. The complexity and hint of bannana are amazing. I WISH I could find a peanut butter in real life that tasted like this juice LOL.

Queenside -- my second favorite. I always LOVED orange creamcicles growing up...and man if I could find an orange creamcicle that taste like this, my freezer would be STOCKED. It is remineicent of the Henry Weinhard's Gourmet Orange Cream Soda. Except instead of the Mandarin Orange, this juice is a blood orange and obviously no soda flavor, but if you love orange vanilla anything, you know the best orange vanilla combo in real life is the Henry Weinhard's soda. *drools*

Bowden's Mate -- my third favorite. It's an Andes Mint...if you have ever ate Andes Mint's you know that they excel in the Deep Chocolate/mint category...this juice actually gives Andes Mints a run for their money LOL. Delicious if your into mint chocolate chip or alike. True to its flavor- not at all "medicine menthol". It's a chocolate mint and the right ratio of each.

Gambit -- my fourth favorite. I didn't purchase this one, so I can only speak out of trying it at the shop. It was good...did I taste Apple...no. But the other flavors like the crust and the carmel were very good...maybe the store needed to steep the bottle? I'm not sure...it's the only one I tasted that didn't fit the description other people rave about it being...will come back to it and perhaps purchase it later. Still great flavor from what I did taste, but I need more apple.

Pinhead -- last for my personal pallette. I hate Absinthe flavored eliquids...and I still tried it. It was definetly absinthe and cinnamon and some other complexity to it that I couldn't quite put my finger on. If you like absinthe, you will LOVE it. Very complex. :)

Castle Reserve -- the only flavor that the shop I went to didn't have... I was a sad panda. :/

Yes, 5 Pawns is expensive, but you will not find a liquid anywhere else that comes close to the amazing full complex flavors, tons of vapor, great throat hit, as these flavors. They are the best liquids I have vaped hands down, for gourmet, complex, intense flavors.

A couple things...

1. Absolute Pin. Not "pinhead"

2. They were missing other flavors besides Castle Long Reserve. None of which are available online, in fact I think they may only be available the the Five Pawns company tasting room.... Caissa and En Passant for instance.

I tried Gambit at a local B&M and was blown away. Bought the sample pack from Five Pawns and...WTH happened???? Gambit tasted weird..chemical, no apples, no crust and some vanilla. :(

I was so sad because out of my entire sample pack, I purposely saved this for last because I already knew I loved it. Something is very different than when I tried it almost 1 month ago and not in a good way.

Now Grandmaster is awesome and I will be buying a big bottle of it. Did not like at all Absolute Pin, but I don't care for black licorice anyway, Bowden's Mate was o.k. but was missing the chocolate flavor and Queenslide is great for anyone who likes an orange flavor.

Anyway...just was sad w/Gambit..

From the 5P site:

GAMBIT: Sweet and mellow ripe apple with savory pie crust and caramel. Topped off with French Vanilla ice cream and unsweetened whipped cream. Sweet and savory with a medium bodied throat hit.

As others have said this juice blows me away. After about 5 pulls using a PT2 every single note was present. I think it's cinnamon for the spicy note. The description of Vanilla ice cream might be well a little ambitious. LOL It's more like a creamy and subtle Vanilla note to my buds. The notes seem to dance around/change intensity depending on the time of day, food, hydration, and my buds. Call it a fox trot lol It's crack! and I love it. It's a really tough call between CLR and Gambit but to be fair they live in two different universes to a large degree.

That's very odd... One thing that is so great about Five Pawns is their consistency.

In fact I was at the company hq/tasting room today and had a nice chat with the mixologist behind their flavors and he takes great pride in it...

I know it's odd because they take GREAT care on creating their juices. I'm still getting Grandmaster...it's awesome. How was their headquarters???? Is it the cool looking store they show on their video? Must be nice living in warm, sunny Cali!

Yeah that's the one.

It's a great environment, with a great staff... Honestly,. there are shops that sell Five Pawns closer to my home, but it's absolutely worth the drive.

It is definitely, not a vape shop. it's a tasting room, much like you'd find at a winery.

Because I took the extra step to go there yesterday instead of a vape shop:

1. Got to speak directly with the man behind the flavors.

2. Got to try 'Caissa' and 'En Passant' from the upcoming Mixology edition... only available at the HQ... Both are just as complex as other Five Pawns flavors, Caissa in particular was just hard for me to describe, a lot going on there... Neither are my thing, but...

3. Got to try an as-of-yet un-named 3rd flavor in the Mixology edition. A mix of Peach with Rum and other goodness... An amazing vape, tastes like drinking high quality peach tea... REAL peach tea. It may be the "cleanest" vape I've ever had... it just tastes so pure and refreshing... can't wait for it's release.

4. Got a lot of insight into the products from their friendly and knowledgeable staff

5. Got to answer a bunch of angry inquiries from my wife regarding why it took me so long to "just grab some juice" LOL

As for your bad experience with Gambit.
I'd reach out to them and let them know... As I said, they do pride themselves on consistency.
