Tried some at the juice sampling bar at my local B&M and holy tacos, I understand what all the fuss is about now. I've heard people talking about it, but I wasn't going to buy any without trying it, because of the price. This is some really good stuff. I ended up buying a bottle of Queenside. It tastes exactly like a ripe blood orange at higher resistance, and like an orange cinnamon roll at lower resistance. The Queenside was my favorite and what I bought, but the store had everything; I tried them all and I didn't taste a bad one in the bunch.

I absolutely recommend this juice....maybe not as an all day vape though. It really is a bit expensive. So I won't be vaping it as much as I'd like to >_>

Is prime rib an all day eat? Five Pawns is not an ADV by that same logic. Now that I'm nearly exclusively using an RDA there is no way I can swing $27.50 for 30ml that I will burn up in three days. It would be cheaper to go back to smoking.

Yes, some eLiquids are cheaper and "almost" as good, but I've never found another eLiquid company who's offerings I've truly and thourghly enjoyed as much as Five Pawns, and folks, I've tried A LOT of eLiquids. There is just nothing like Gambit on a fall day, and nothing pairs with a good single barrel bourbon or scotch like Castle Long.

I really really want to like Queenside. But most of the time all I can taste is sugar. All of their juices in the Signature line are way too sweet for me. Yesterday I tried Gambit and it was so overwhelmingly sweet it almost made me gag.

The mixology line is much less sweet, except Castle Long. I love Lucena, and would love 64 if it wasn't full of dill. But yeah, even Lucena can't be an ADV at that price point. It's an amazing treat.

I agree the Queenside is exceptionally sweet, but in my opinion it's the right sort of very sweet that I can vape enjoyable. It's sweet, but light I guess and very clean on the pallet? Though keep in mind I don't venture very low into subohming; I usually like my vape around 1-1.8, and I've noticed it tastes less sweet at higher resistance. I've had very sweet juices that make me want to gag (vape-game's drip line is absolutely nauseating to me).

I tried the Lucena too and I agree that it was really good and a lot lighter I guess, but I didn't buy any. I couldn't afford two bottles LOL.

Honestly, even if I could ADV these I don't think I would want to. They are literally so complex flavor wise vaper's tongue would set in and I wouldn't appreciate the subtle flavors that make it what it is.

Probably why I stick with eLiquids with no more than two or three flavors inside as my ADV. Anything more complex is a treat on weekends for me. I just now realized this. Lol

Grandmaster is one of my ADVs. It's delicious, it leaves a really nice aftertaste of the peanut butter with the banana mixed in. I still think it isn't worth $27.50. To be honest most of the $22/30 ML juices should be priced at $15-$20 range (unless they have a facility where they do extracts themselves). The markup is just too high for what it must cost. I'd be happy if Five Pawns costed $22-$23/30ml.

Yeah, I wish they were lower too. But they are not even the worst for prices. The new scheme with some vendors is to sell 15ml bottles only at $13-$15. I'm looking at you Cosmic Fog and Cuttwood. That's dollar a mil land! For flavors like strawberry cream, gummy whatever, and milk and honey. Not even close in complexity to most of Five Pawns line.

Five Pawns does have a full on lab and production facility. As I understand it, they do feature unique, propriety extracts sourced locally in California as well. There is some reasoning why they flirt at that $1 a ML price tier. It costs a lot of money to have a full on clean lab and this level of equipment. The only other vendor I've ever seen that has a clean lab is Epic, and even they don't have near this level of mixing equipment or machines. Nor do I believe they use extracts, but rather simple flavorings.

I was really hoping I liked their juice, but I ordered their signature line sampler pack that came with 5 different flavors and they all had that sweetener smell. That smell that comes from cheap cig-a-like dessert flavors. It's just overwhelming to me, and that doesn't happen often with me. Also, the throat hit was almost non-existent on most, and barely there on others, all at 12mg/ml nic. :2c:

Happy you liked it though...

Wow, I know first hand how expensive that equipment is as I work in the pharmaceutical industry. Assuming that is what I think it is, that thing costs way more than a nice benz.... I wonder if Five Pawns provides any certificates of analysis on their product for microbial testing or other contaminants. That would make me reconsider my feelings on their juices....

I just bought lucena and grandmaster a couple days ago myself. It was only going to be one but the B&M I was at had a special to buy one get one 50% off. Lucena is def my fav but grandmaster does have its place too. Luckily for my I DIY a lot of liquids so dropping 50 on a treat once and awhile is very reasonable for me.

Not sure, you can always ask them on FB or drop them an email. The pics of their equipment are from their FB page BTW.

There are a few companies that make their own extracts. Ahlusion and HHV, of the top of my head and all companies that sell NET's. Have you seen pictures of Hangsen and DeKangs clean rooms ? They sell their juices at less than one fifth the cost of Five Pawns.Yes, i know their juices are not complex and they use flavorings etc .... but the price of Five Pawns juices has nothing to do with production costs, and everything to do with marketing. Its branding, pure and simple. They have made a business decision to be a so called boutique or luxury brand, where they would sell fewer bottles, but have a greater profit margin. Perfectly valid business model, but i find there are other brands with comparable products, at 60 % of the cost.

It's just my personal opinion though, and if someone is willing to pay that price, it is definitely worth it to them.
