It's unfortunate that 5 posts are just too difficult for some. I think I got 5 posts in within a 1/2 hour after joining and still stayed in the "new members" forum. I was kind of scared to play with the big kids so I felt the most comfortable in the new members area. I'm impressed with the level of moderation here. There's a lot of leeway to play and joke around at the same time I don't have to wade through a bunch of spam posts. Thank you moderators for doing an awesome and thankless job!!
ECF isn't Reddit. And that's what sets ECF apart from the rest of the free for all forums that exist. Individuals can come here and feel free to ask questions without the normal hostility you see on other sites.
Yes, ECF has rules which are enforced fairly rigorously. But the rules aren't out of line and are in place to ensure everyone can participate on the site freely without reservation.

Looks like we have a couple of new people that can't think of 5 original things to say. That is a shame on our education system. You can read most of the forums right away, but the posting takes a little effort on your part. I believe 5 whole posts and then less than an hour for it to update. Should not tax a person too much, but keeps the spam bots and trolls at bay.

At first the mods really ticked me off a few times, now whenever they do something that surprises me I just laugh and shout dammit and then carry on. LOL.
