Hi fellow Halons!

A few weeks ago, during the free TriBeCa promotion, I ordered a few Triton tanks, in my favorite smoke color. This order brought my total number of Triton tanks up to 7. Problem is, the last one of these tanks that I just opened and filled last night began leaking on me immediately. This is the only one of the 7 that has leaked, but this leak is very, very noticeable, and is actually draining my tank juice. I plan to call Halo CS on Monday morning. I had a very similar problem with one of my smoke mini tanks, and they sent me a new one. I hope they do the same with this one.

My question for all of you is do you have any advice how to "salvage" this defective tank? I was thinking about letting it dry completely, then remove the coil, and somehow get a small amount of epoxy onto the very bottom interior of the tank (maybe via something very, very thin, but I do not have a syringe, nor can I think of anything else, without your help)! Any advice or ideas would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks.

Cherokee I don't know of any way to salvage the tank that would be safe to vape. I had one that leaked when I got it and Halo replaced the tank. I did cut the plastic off the leaking tank and I use it for dry burning my coils, it so much easier to see what is going on with the coils when the plastic tank portion is removed. ;)

Also it is handy after dry burning to just stick it under the water faucet to wash away the gunk without having to remove it from my battery.

Hi Evie! It is really good to hear from you, and I hope that this finds you in good health. :) Thanks for your advice as well. The more I have been thinking about it, the more I think that you are right that there is really no super safe way to put any kind of adhesive inside of the tank. That probably would be rather foolish.

Since I am vey much a noob I do not yet know much about dry burning. Plan to research it though. However, what are your thoughts about trying to fix the leak by applying some epoxy around the outside lower plastic rim? I tried packing tape, but it did not work at all. Thanks!

Juice would still get to the "patch". I seem to remember somewhere in this forum someone, probably BigBen talking about using something like that, but make sure it is "food grade" material. :)

I'll try to find some links for you. There is alot of great information in this forum.:D

Cherokee1979,

Call Halo Customer Service. (You might get someone on a Saturday?)

You don't say where the leak is. If it's leaking between the plastic tank and the base from bad glueing, I wouldn't try to fix it. I have no idea how an epoxy (even JB Weld) would hold up with eliquid. I'm sure it would seal it, but I'd be afraid of chemicals leaching out. For 7 bucks, why take a chance?

If the center is leaking, you can try this, after contacting CS (cause they might want the tank back). The chimney is press fitted into the base. Is the chimney off center or loose? You can try pushing it down with force to get it seated better.

Other than that, Evie's suggestion of making a coil burning jig is good.

Good luck.

Thanks much Evie and Dave. It is always great to hear from you two.

The leak is due to bad gluing, at the bottom of the tank, where the plastic meets the metal lower rim. This is the same exact spot that I got a leak on a brand new mini tank also. From my limited experience, it seems that halos tanks could use some work in QC with tanks and leaks. However, if CS gives me a new one, no worries. It is just frustrating for this to happen twice out of no more than 10 tanks. The failure rate for my luck with tanks is now at 20 percent, which is not a good stat.

I will try calling Halo CS right now. There is no huge rush though, as I totally gave up on this tank and drained the juice into a half filled other tank. Thanks again guys, and I hope you're having a great weekend!

I don't think there is anyway to safely add a sealer. This is a manufacturers defect and they SHOULD replace it for you without any out of pocket expenses to send the bad tank back. I dropped and cracked a tank at the bottom (below the 0ml mark) and have tried all kinds of tape. Scotch, duct, electrical etc. The next morning juice is always leaking past the tape. I also have a tank that just quit firing for no reason.
