The 510 Connector on my Smoktech bolt shorted out, so I took it apart to see what had gone wrong, I didn't take any photo's of that part, so I stole this picture from the web (thankyou Welcome to The Rubicon Project - Hand Crafted Mods that do what they say!) to illustrate,

When I took the connector apart, I found that the rubber insulator had split. I'm not really surprised, it should really be made of silicone if it's to survive.
I looked around for a replacement, but they all seemed identical to the one I had. Presumably originating from the same Chinese factory somewhere, so I looked around for a replacement seal. Whilst searching the web I had heard rumour that the Ego connectors are far superior, containing proper silicon seals - so I took apart a much battered Ego - 510 adapter I had.

The three parts on the left are from the Ego adapter, the part on the right is the crappy 510 seal that has split. As you can see, the Ego adapter is far superior in build quality and design. The centre post is in two parts that screw together, and there are two silicon seals (only one pictures) to insulate the post from the housing. The post can't be force in or out of the housing without unscrewing it, and the seals are proper silicon items.
I originally wanted to use the Ego centre post, but it protruded to far into the Bolts casing, so instead I simply used one of the silicon seals in place of the 510 one. It fitted nicely over the 510 centre post - despite being slightly to long.
I measured the hole in the Ego housing, which was 4mm. The 510 one was 3.5mm, so I just opened it out with a step drill, put everything together again and hey presto.
Here is the bolt with my modified 510 connector, now working again - hopefully permanently

And here is a close up of the offending seal from the 510 Connector
