Flaming newly build atomizer, what would be the prob?

i rebuild my rebuildable drip type atomizer 1 fold 3mm wick and 4 loops .32 kanthal wire
then testfire it in 18650 full mech ss mod .the coil heat up then suddenly it flames ..what would be the problem for that is that normal ?

I use a rda from time to time but I have only used pre-built coils, so I can't offer any direct experience. Obviously you are drawing way too much current. Have you checked the coil resistance with a good, reliable ohm meter before it is installed in the atty, and then after it is installed?

Maybe others with more experience will chime-in to help.

What ohms does your multi-meter give you when you test it? What voltage did you say you were using?

Were there actual flames, or did the coil just glow red hot? Both are possible as ejuice can be set on fire with enough heat, but if it's just the coil glowing red you most likely don't have enough juice on it. Try loading it up until its just shy of leaking.

Zoiks! If you're getting flames then you're running too much current through the wire. Make sure you test your resistance (ohms, or Ω on your multimeter) before running current through it. If you're not sure how much current to use for your reading, there are a TON of helpful posts in the Modding section of the forums for you to reference.
