Flanged Cartomizer's having trouble, bad taste

I recently purchased some flanged cartomizers from a local shop, and have gone through at least three of them all tasting very burnt, having little vapor production and just overall horrible. Im use them on my Itaste mvp with a artemas tank setup. I even vape at lower voltage as well so I don't think that's causing it because it taste bad the first puff. I've bought some different ones online and they seemed to work well. Also im using 50/50 e juice which always worked. I know im priming them right I even went to the shop and had help priming one and it still tasted burnt. Sorry I couldn't be more specific about what type of cartomizer it is. It just sounds like you got some bad cartos.
