flanged cartomizers seem like a dumb gimmick, do you agree?

I think the flange makes some users comfortable it won't slide down, but I don't see the need either. I have one mod with a deep atty connection and I'm sure the flange would bottom out before it could make contact. I fill my tanks from the atty end anyway so it wouldn't work for me. I just screw cartos onto a dead eGo battery and slice 'em with a Dremel, but those $14.99 punches at phiniac.com look awful simple and effective.

The flange cartos seemed like a necessity with one of my tanks as it slid more. Having the flange there helped to keep the tank in place. Also, the flange does have another purpose and that is to prevent someone from covering up the air holes at the bottom with their tank. No airflow means no vape. I don't use them anymore as cartos with flanges are of a limited variety, but they do serve their purpose in my opinion.

I'm punching all my cartos with a $6 Saddle valve from Lowes. Punched a second hole in about 30 of them just this morning since I bought flanged one with only 1 hole (cheaper) and I like 2 holes for my juices. I am planning on getting into using plain Boge cartos in the tank though. Just ordered a 25 carto bundle of Boge XL 3.0's from Surevapes for $23. If that works with my tanks, I'll ditch the flanged ones once I'm out of the ones I have here (LOTS).... :)
