loranns will be good for DIY. I have a bunch of their flavors. I also have flavors from the perfumersapprentice, cappella, flavourart and a couple from flavorwest. Loranns will have all the usual flavors but for florals, tobaccos and more unusual stuff you have to go elsewhere. I'm not sure if these are tips for you,
but

1. download ejuicemeup or similar e-juice calculator. -you put in the ingredients and it gives you the recipe
2. always start with plain pg or vg and save your nic until you know you will like the flavor. -its way cheaper
3. take notes
4. I find its easier and faster to measure with a syringe

Have fun DIY-ing! :)

I like loranns. this new vanilla butternut is kind of odd. I like the taste but the more I vape, the more I am sure it tastes like rootbeer

LorAnn's vanilla butternut is superb :) When I first discovered that I was seriously impressed, having been disappointed with most of LA's flavors. If your wanting to venture down the path of supreme vanilla goodness, you need to start mixing a hint of that with Capella's Vanilla Custard, then layer in some caramels and coffee's once you figure your vanilla ratios. Those are the two best vanillas ive DIY'd, and they go good together but you wanna keep them both on the lower end as the butternut can give weird (not really appealing) tastes at higher concentrations and the Vanilla custard can get a floral taste to it if you go too high, which I can't stand.

As to the original poster; LorAnn has a few good flavors, you may like them all. But by comparison to other suppliers out there such as Capella, FlavourArt and Perfumers Apprentice, they leave something to be desired.

I find FlavourArt's flavors particularly interesting, as they often have a totally "italian" inspired idea of flavors. For example ill get same flavors from LA, Cap, PA, and FA, and the LA/Cap/PA are all fairly in line with what id expect the flavor to be (based on my north american associations of that flavor), but the FA equivalent will be dramatically different, and not in a bad way but rather a way that tastes more "authentic" to the real taste rather than our north american sense of taste which is alot of artificial flavorings that we come to associate with being that "flavor". Ill give an example, FA's cheesecake smells like what id imagine a real italian made cheesecake smells like, dirty socks.

The polar opposite to FA in my experiences, are chinese flavors that ive also DIY'd heavily. These chinese flavorings are the epitome of the "north american" association of flavors (you know, all those childhood memories). For example ive purchased "grape" flavorings from China that taste exactly like grape Crush soda, banana flavorings that tasted exactly like the yellow bananas you find in Runtz candies, peach thats identical to fuzzy peach candies, etc. But I wouldn't say any of those accurately reflected the real taste of a grape or a peach.

Try Capella's Irish Cream if you want something identical to baileys. Thats usually the north american association for irish cream, and Capella is spot on. Thats the only Irish Cream flavor I find worth the effort.

I think Capella does Irish Cream by far the best verse the others. But it varies for each flavor who i'd give the crown to. Really you gotta try them all and see, cause the differences are sometimes subtle, sometimes significant. Its part of the overly expensive and time consuming hobby of DIY :)
