I'm new into the world of vaping, and currently using a V2 battery with a KR808D-1 e-Smart clearomizer (I was using refillable cartomizers prior). I got some new e-juice (even with a double shot of flavor ) filled up my clearomizer and took a drag. I can smell the flavor in and around the tip, but when I drag I get no taste, or a very weak one. It seemed to have a decent taste on the cartomizers prior to the new clearomizers I got. I havn't smoked an analog for about two weeks, and I'm really wanting to experience all the flavors I've been hearing about.

Unfortunately there isn't a brick and morter store within two hours of me that I can go talk to someone about this, and I hate to keep buying new hardware if this is going to be a recurring problem for me. Any ideas? I have had a friend suggest that I buy a e-go Twist with a Vivi nova tank (in my price range).

Are you sure your battery has a full charge on it? It may just be a weak battery preventing the coil from heating appropriately. It could also be that the ohm rating on your clearomizer is higher than what was on your cartomizers -- this would lead to 'weaker' vapor production and flavor, because the voltage being delivered to the coil isn't sufficient to create a wattage that is satisfying. Do you by chance remember the ohm-rating of the clearomizers you bought?

My first post here too... relative newb w/23 days since last analog, but I just switched from vision clearo 2s to dripping a couple of days ago and I swear I can't even taste ANY flavor in the clearos anymore, especially when I do a back to back comparison. I know that dripping in not for everyone but I am finding much more flavor and enjoyment. good luck.

I'm assuming that these are what you got:

e-Smart clearomizers - package of 5

...if thats the case, its a matter of the ohm-rating is much higher than what you're used to with cartomizers. If those same were coiled at 2.0-2.2 ohm vs 2.8-2.9 ohm, you would have a different experience. Try looking for something thats rated much lower for the batteries you have :)

" These also fit KR808D-1 batteries but are slightly larger in diameter. These measure approximately 2.6-2.9 Ohms and feature long wicks for better wicking."

From the site I ordered from (who have been fabulous).

My battery's were fully charged before I tried them.

Dripping seems like a pain to me but then again I don't have anyone in person that can help me or give me advice so I'm out on my own here lol.

A twist is a worthwhile jump above the V2's you're used to. Very reliable for what they are and very affordable.

As far as using the clearomizer's you got on them, you would need a 510 to 808 adapter, as the threading on your V2 cig-a-likes is different than the 510/eGo threading of the twist. They would, however, work :)

agree on the power to coil issue

if you are hitting a 2.9 ohm coil with a 808 battery you are vaping at about 4.7 watts and this is bound to be a very weak vape attempt

Most vapers find their sweet spot somewhere between 7 and 9 watts...if this is a top coil clearo you wont need as much power say 6.5 watts but you definitely need more than 4.7

Here is a little tool that will help with the confusion.
    Ohm's Law Calculator | V=IxR
7 watts is a good place to start, but understand that everyone is a little different. So if you plug in the wattage that you like and the voltage of the battery you are using (3.7v), the calculater will tell you what resistance atty/carto/clearo you should use.

I've been vaping for two years and still have that little tool pinned to my task bar.
