FLAVOR OF THE WEEK: "Kretek (clove)"

I'm curious....I recall someone last month speaking of a honey/clove mix they had made up that they loved....that sounded very good to me....I'm hoping that person tries this new flavor and tells us which they like better.....

That would be me! I just ordered the Kretek as I was waiting for the doubler and I will let you know! I can't wait! Anticipation..........sometimes it sucks! LOL

There IS tobacco in the background and by all means, it is NOT a fake. Hell, ours may be one of the only vendors that uses a maceration made from PG and actual tobacco. And very good stuff at that.

Ah so that may very well be what I'm tasting there. A little age should do the trick then.

I just saw that the new Flavor of the Week is the Kretek. First there was a couple of people that got this liquid about a month or two ago to sample. I was lucky to get one of the bottles. So I thought I would share my thoughts on this liquid.

Like many of Tasty Vapor's Liquid the flavor and taste of the vapor is outstanding. This is a Liquid you might want to let sit for a little bit of time. Doesn't have to be to long but it did improve after about a week. Vapor production is like all of my Tasty Vapor liquids. I think if I remember correctly the Sample bottles (30mL) came to us with 20%VG mix.

Now the bullet points:

Taste: First you need to know this tastes like a clove cigarette. I have tried many different clove liquids from other suppliers and this one is the most like a clove cigarette. The only thing that might be missing is the taste on your lips that you get from the Clove Cigarette. Can't describe it but I think another person I let try it was the "Candy Taste."

Throat Hit: This is very hard to describe because many people feel differently to different things. I think the throat hit is very strong. If Atomic Cinnacide is my basis on TH and I got it at 10 then the Kretek get an 8-9.

Vapor: As we should all know the more VG you add the more vapor you will get. So I think 20% is a great VG % in the Kratek.

Final thoughts: This Kretek is the most like Clove I have found. I have tried many different cloves and nothing can compare to this one. I had some of the VIP (Vaping in Phoenix) group try it at one of our socials and everyone that tried it said the same thing... "WOW"

If you like Clove Cigarettes you need to give this a try.

You sold me! Im calling Geoff now.......I LOVE clove cigs....well I used to cause im not a smoker anymore but i am a hell of a vaper now!! I am so glad I quit. I smelled a clove cig the other day and wished i could just taste one but they still make you stinky..LOL

I've tried cloves cigarettes in the past and didn't enjoy them......I'm expecting kretek would be stronger than I like....I've been thinking of a blend of something like honey and vanilla with just a touch of clove to spice it up......maybe I should just order some individual flavors and play with them....

Scumpy....so far I have been of varying success with recreating that "clove" experience.....right now I am vaping some Eugenol oil (recommended as all that for the clove experience) mixed with a bit of RedHots for that cinnamon twinge....I think it is missing a little sweetness to be just the thing but I do get the lip/tongue tingle which is awesome!!!

That's OK. I'll come back and post one when I can get at my liquid. At first I thought I tasted some chocolate undertones, but now I think of banana when I think of the juice. Kretek is the best approximation of a clove cigarette so far. I've also been saying this all over the forum.

Just quickly, I don't think it tastes like a Djarum anything, but why does it have to? It's good. Period.

I tried it right after receiving it and after I let the juice steep for almost two weeks and it taste more like cinnamon tobacco than kretek/clove. The aroma in the room is VERY strong. My girlfriend actually said "I'd rather smell actual cigarettes than that". I purchased a doubler and a 48mg nic to mix with. It did have a large improvement when I mixed the two, but it was still just cinnamon tobacco to me. As a smoker I was a full-time Dajarum Black smoker. First the cigs than the "cigars" after the ban on flavor cigarettes. If you have any other questions about the juice send me a PM and I'll answer it.

That is your problem right there. "Djarum Black"... It doesn't taste like Djarum Black to me, it tastes very much like Djarum Specials (or Djarum Brown)

I was a Djarum smoker. I only switched to the blacks after they fazed out the red-boxed kings. The Kretek flavor that Geoff offers is more like the kings than the blacks.

I loved the kings.

Geoff's Kretek has become my daily nicquid! Thanks so much!

I was a 2 pack a day Djarum Special smoker for nearly 10 years, before they went to those damned "cigar" things. After that I only smoked a pack a day maybe. I tried the Kretek, hoping to get the same taste. To me, it tastes and smells like myrrh incense. Weird I know, but it was what I came up with. No clove taste at all to the batch I got. I added it to a Djarum brand from another supplier, and it was better. It was great mixed with Atomic Cinnicide.

I guess this just proves that everyone has different taste buds. I may order it again and let it steep a long, long time.

The old Djarum kings had more of a cinnamon bite than their other lines of kretek. The clove in TV's version is more of an undertone, which I'm okay with. It's certainly a lot better than most other attempts I've found. Trying to pass off black licorice or molassas as Djarum clove is absolutely insulting to the person purchasing the nicquid.
