Flavor. Should it be a hint or hit you like a brick?

I really like the 808 form and wouldn't feel comfortable holding one of those massive PVs like a provari or a mod (no offense, just my preference).

My question is about the flavor. The way people describe the flavor seems like they are as intense as sucking on a piece of candy. I have not experienced anything more than just a slight hint of flavor. I've used an all PG ry4 (JC), a 50/50 Vapor room and a 50/50 vaperite. All I've experienced have featured just a hint of flavor through my Volt, smoov, nexcig cartos.

Just wondering if this is normal. "Juicy" would not be anything close to what I've experienced and I just wonder if I am basically getting what others get and I was just expecting something that wasn't normal. Butso far, it's been a slight hint of flavor.

Thanks, gang.

Hmm...I've used standard 808 gear. Generally, I think clearomizers deliver better flavor. As well, some could be attributable to the juices. Some are more flavorful than others.

My home-brewed mod continues to have an 808 connector, thought I do use and adaptor for when I use an 510 clearomizer.

Seeing as how your are in Rochester, you might check out RWVapors. There is both a website and a store as I understand. RWVapor's RY4 ejuice is considered to be good. If you get by there, tell Ross, "Hello."

Yeah, CB. Ross is in Batavia from what I understand. A bit of a haul. I'm surprised there isn't anything here in Rochester, though. Just a few smoke shops and those guys don't seem to know anything.

Rochester is a Vape kinda town.

Anyway, I'm still looking for the right juice. I've just started wondering if I'm asking for something that's unachievable. I've seen plenty of reviews saying that flavor was great (for various 808s - smoov, volt, nexcig etc.) Just wondering if my definition of juicy is unrealistic.

Thanks, Cb

Even though I am using vv with tanks and such, I still use my 78mm 808's and cartos. I dont notice as much difference with flavor as I do vapor and th. But there is a slight difference. It also depends on how I vape. I get most of the flavor on the exhale. I blow slightly out of my nose and my mouth. Some times I'll take a short puff and let it swirl in my mouth while taking a long draw.

Ive also discovered in recent weeks that what I drink and eat affects flavors. Coffee will almost always take away the sharp notes of a liquid. But for someone else, it may not.

When comparing tasty liquid to blah I would say this...
The more I like a flavor, the harder it can be to taste it. The worse or nasty the flavor, the more it seems like I got ....* slapped and its over powering and strong. There might be something to it lol

This is my experience too. Also flavours are different depending on the delivery system. Some flavours taste better/stronger in a carto, some better in a clearo, others I can only direct drip on an atomizer. I haven't experimented with resistance or voltage yet so I can't comment on that.

Sorry, I don't know. I'm in New Zealand so I may as well order from China and get it cheaper. It doesn't take that much longer in postage time from there compared to the states for me. If it helps healthcabin have their kanger cartos on sale right now (like today, maybe tomorrow) for under $4 per 5! I grabbed 5 packs today for less than $20 :D

As far as the mechanics of resistance goes, as far as I'm aware, it's to do with the thickness of the wire coil.

Battery voltage and carto ohms combine to make watts.
Watts is a measure of power that generates heat and when combined with e-liquid, produces vapor.
Most people have a range of heat that they like. Juice is also affected by the heat as to much heat can burn certain notes out while not enough heat can fail to enhance notes also.

First, here is a chart to help calculate watts....link. (click on the pick to enlarge, you can also 'right click' on it and save it to your 'puter for reference later.)
Carto resistance is determined by the thickness of resistance wire used and the length that is used to make the coil.
If you look at the chart, the battery voltage is at the top and coil resistance is on the left.

Here is a ohms law calculator if you want to be more specific...link.
This calc will also give you the amps (current) that is required to to achieve the watts.
Battery devices have a certain amp limit and they will not let you push more watts then the devices amp limit.

Ohms in a carto are directly related to the diameter and length of the resistance wire that is used to make the coil.
The coil is wrapped around a wick. Around the wick is a filler material that holds the e-liquid.
As you heat the coil, the wick will start to get dry. It will then wick juice from the filler material and bring it in contact with the coil which makes the vapor.
Coil makes the heat; wick delivers juice from filler to the coil and filler stores the juice.

Here is a resistance wire thread....link
The awg (gauge or diameter) has a set resistance per inch.
Ohms are regulated by picking the diameter of wire and a given length used in making the coil wraps.

example:
32 awg has 1.2 Ω/in of resistance.
So if you use 2" of 32 awg to make a coil, your resistance will be approx. 2.4 ohms and so on.
