Flavors and Cartomizer Information!

Noticed this was a very large website and community for the 808D-1 crowd, so I thought I'd give their juices a try!

What exactly is the difference between the Wow cartomizers and Cool cartomizers? Just the ohm rating?

And I want to try some of their flavors, but they don't seem to really have any juice samplers so I'd be willing to pick up a sampler that are pre-filled cartomizers. Is there any way to get a combination of Cool carts and Wow carts?

Finally, the flavors themselves. Looking for a very strong menthol/tobacco flavor, like an analog Newport. I have Port Menthol from The Vapor Room, but it's a bit too much tobacco and not enough menthol strength. And then some other low nicotine rated fruity/sweet flavors to just vape all day without worrying about too much damn nicotine (sometimes get headaches after a few hours of vaping high nic juices).

Hello Matt!

The Wow cartos are a lower ohm, so they produce a warmer vape and go through juice a little faster. (They are also easier to fill if you get blanks, because the polyfill is not as tight). Please be aware that almost all V4L hardware, including all the Wow and Cool cartos, are 808D threaded. V4L does sell 510-to-808 adaptors.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to mix'n'match carto sampler packs.

You will often see the same flavor name in both "Wow" and "Premium" versions, but they will NOT taste the same: those two lines of juice are produced according to different recipes, and the Wow juices/line tends to have a higher VG content.

Best strong menthol? My guess would be Wow Nuport. You should probably try the WoW Vapor Menthol Lovers Sampler Pack currently available in all nicotine strengths. You might also love the Peacemaker Peppermint juice from the USA line (a separate, domestically-made line of juices; these have even more VG than the Wow line).

As for fruity and sweets: Wowza. A lot to choose from. The Premium Grape is extremely popular, as is the Premium Blueberry. You should also try the Wow Mixed Berry Sampler Pack.

I personally love the Premium Vanilla for a simple but excellent sweet.

Exact ratios are proprietary, but the Premium juices are around 85-90% PG; the Wow juices around 75-85% PG; and the USA line is around 60-70% PG.

I would also suggest trying the 7ml juice samplers from the USA line and some blank WOWcarts and blank COOLcarts to experiment with.

Eleanor mentioned Premium Vanilla which comes pre-filled in a COOLcart as with all Premium juices. Yes, it is good but I think sweeter than its WOW Vanilla counterpart which comes pre-filled in a WOWcart as with all WOW juices. I am used to WOW Vanilla but I received a freebie Premium Vanilla COOLcart in my last order and it is definitely different than the WOW. I would imagine that the Premium juice in a self-filled WOW might taste different, but I never tried it.

For fruity, I suggest trying the USA Bandit Berry. Yum.

I found that the DeKang Nport tasted like the real thing. I only smoked Newports once in a while though. I did have it at 24 and would get a headache if I vaped too much. I have since cut down to about 16-18 mg and just ordered more dekang nport at 11, I think. Haven't tried it yet as I am too hooked on my sweet vapes!

I haven't found a great all day vape in one bottle. What I tend to do is mix up various sweet flavors and they taste great mixed. On their own, they probably wouldn't make the cut as an all day vape. I just found a black cherry flavor that tastes like cough syrup, yuck! I filled a whole carto with it. Now, if I add in some tobacco it might help. I also found that the Nport is so strong that it will pretty much cover up the flavor that was in there to begin with....

Hi Mattkohl71, welcome to the forum. Although I don't post much anymore, thought I would weigh in since I am a previous 1 PAD Newport Light smoker, and since the V4L sub forum masters don't appear to be around right now (maybe it's safe to come back???). I quit Oct 09 using another vendor, switched to V4L in Dec 09 - haven't bought a single thing from anywhere else this whole time. What really got me hooked was the original Smilin premium menthol - a little menthol, with slight hints of cafe mocha and tobacco. It's really pretty mild, so if you want stronger tobacco and more vapor, take El and Ian's advice on the Wow Nuport. In my earlier experiences, I really liked most all of the premium (original chinese made) menthol juices, especially Kamel, Cool, Dunhall (a little more tobacco taste), Nuport, Parlament, and just regular Menthol - I can't really comment on the Wow versions of these flavors, as I don't particularly like the Wow line in general. I still like these juices because I'm used to them and they are thin (read drip and fill easily), but others will prefer either the Wow or USA juices due to stronger throat hit and more vapor (more VG). As a result, I highly recommend you get one Premium Menthol Sampler #2 CoolCarts, and one Wow Vapor Menthol Lovers Sampler, and see how you like the various menthol flavors in both cool cart and wow cart formats. Finally, I would also strongly concur with ThankU4Vaping's suggestion of getting both kinds of blank carts and a few of the USA Juice samplers; I didn't see Peacemaker in 7 ml on the website, but you might like Java Mint - I personally love Blackjack Berry. Hope this helps, I can probably speak for most everyone that you will definitely find something you love at V4L, although it might take you a while

Edit - Just to make sure, these will work on 808D-1 batteries, correct? I have a Volt and love Smokeless Image's hardware, but the juices are lacking quite a bit in vapor/flavor than other places! (Almost 100% PG juices!)

Well now that I've got everyone's attention, I'd like to know people's opinions on the tank systems they offer.

I already found out that for a normal battery, I should get a single coil replacement so that the dual coil doesn't drastically reduce my battery life.

Other than that, do they work pretty well? I already have a Clearomizer from Smokeless Image coming, so I'd like to check out more tank systems besides only one.

Besides a little money trouble right now, I should be able to put in a decent order sometime soon! (Wow Menthol Samplers and a tank w/replacement coil)

Hi Matt: I like the 2 ohm dual coil tanks best, wouldn't go lower than 2 though regardless of dual or single coils, the dual coil is def better vapor production. All the tanks work well from my experience, but I prefer using them on the ego batts - they last longer and have better balance and aesthetics; hard to beat 900 mah with a Titan. The Titans work well, especially if you have at least 4 charged up on hand to get you through a day. Having said that, I actually like the megacarts better than the tanks, they are perfect on the ego batts and perform superbly.

I'm still a big fan if the Titan XL manuals with cool carts, which is my routine "away from home" setup. I believe we will be seeing a V4L designed ego alternative and a VV announced in the near future, so stay tuned, never quite know what kind is surprises Steve Milin has up his sleeves
