So i've been vaping for about a month and half now, and loved it in the beginning, pretty much every flavor was like "omg this tastes amazing". Then around 2 weeks ago my favorite vape starting tasting bland, this was my all day vape I felt like I lost a friend. I tried this I tried that yet nothing, 4 different vendors pretty much same deal. I used boges, dripping, and mini vivi nova, same thing blah.

I was so confused thought my taste buds just disappeared. I got so distraught I just started vaping menthol, which used to be my go to flavor. That was ehh in the beginning but got used to it and was tasting good after a while.

Then today on a whim I said hell, lemme try out some fruity flavors to see if they still taste bland. BOOM! FLAVOR BACK! Out of no where tried a little jade tiger, little malibu, some vape nectar, vanilla, you get the picture. Same flavors a couple of weeks ago tasted horrible bout now all good.

Only thing that I can think of is that I somehow blew out my taste buds from overly fruity juice. I used to be a menthol smoker, then started vaping menthol juice, then pretty much solely fruitier juices cause, well they just tasted better. I think that I just got too much of a good thing and that kinda of muted my taste buds. Very strange but glad its back to normal, I'm gunna switch between fruit and menthol flavors so I dont blow out my taste buds again. Anyone else have this happen to them, or know another trick to prevent it from happening again?

The first all day vape that I settled on about 4 days after I started vaping was a fruit flavor called PeachBerry, and I reved about it here a few times, then I vaped it for 2 weeks with no problems, then it just started to seem weak to me, and its taste became weak to the point I
'd be sucking on the Ego and pushing the battery button for a long time to try to get a hit, but nothing worked. I thought it was the atomizer that had gone bad but then I tried it in my variable voltage vaper with a tank with new carto at different voltage, and it was still weak!

But... I had also just switched to a brand new bottle of PeachBerry when this happened, and it was 9mg/ml instead of 12mg/ml, but I cant believe it was just the reduced 3mg of nicotine that weakened its entire flavor(not just throat hit), so I wonder if maybe I was sent a weak batch of juice from the dealer.....(?)

In the last 8 days I have switched to a tobacco juice blend I mixed myself, and also switched to a Kanger T2 carto last week, and I get great hits now!

I have experienced that, many suggest that its due to healing after quitting, and also recommend drinking a lot of water...and flavors come back later. The healing process could be it.

Personally I think it's one of two things, or a combination of both. You're taste buds get aquired to flavors and thus becomes oblivious to them, just like a room with a distinct smell becomes neutral smelling after you stay in it for a while. Solution for that is simply to always mix it up with different flavors and different types of flavors (for example jumping from coffee to fruits instead of only vaping fruits). put flavors aside when they start tasting muted instead of trying to force a stronger flavor out of them.

The other variable is just body chemistry, your taste buds are just more active on somedays than others for countless physical and psychological variables, and you can do nothing about it other than giving it a go later.
