FlavourArt Panorama, part 2
As I wrote in the first part, we are dealing with simple natural flavours that can be used on their own as well as for home brewing.
This time, the first subject is a Mango fruit, a very popular ingredient in the world of steamers. You can steam the fruit all day long, thanks to the special flavour and aroma of the mango. Slightly tart, not really sweet, with a special taste. It can be used on its own, as it is not a sweet taste. With a little cooling or other fruit, it will push its more expensive flavour counterparts down the line. For my part, it is definitely a recommended flavour, for its good price, taste and smell.
The second flavour is a strawberry, which is a little sweet and a little sour. These notes are quite faint, but the strawberry flavour is somewhat discernible. I have a bit of a problem with strawberry flavours, as they are either very overripe, or they are what you might call "unripe strawberries" which have almost no flavour and become a bit dull after a while. Well, in this case I'd put the flavour somewhere in between, which at 8% blend is more like the fruit in smell than taste. It has a bit of a sweetener taste, which overall isn't that distracting as there isn't much in it. Strawberry also just barely peeks out of the "I'm here but not there" aroma. If you were in the mood for a blend, I'm afraid the fruit flavour would be completely lost in the combination.
