Hi people, I've been vaping about a month now to quit smoking and i love it, i have a Aspire Nautilus Adjustable airflow tank with Aspire CF battery, everything was going great until late last week and now i don't get anywhere near the flavour, ive got a few different flavours i like but recently it's just not the same, i ordered some cheap coils of ebay and thought that was the problem but today my new coils came and they are working great but hasn't fixed the flavour problem, I'm lost for why, has anyone had this problem and can give me a why ?? any suggestions welcome !! Thanks in advance.

First off always order your coils from a reputable vendor, 2nd of all after a week depending on juice ratio (vg/pg) coils tend to gunk up faster especially if they're sweet (like custards, candy etc). If you've been vaping the same flavor all that time there's a chance you've got "vaper's tongue" can't remember the fix to it but it's nothing dangerous you've pretty much tired your taste buds in the worst case. I never buy the same juice twice and i have different flavors at hand to not loose flavor and notice when my coils go bad.

NB: no idea about aspire coils but usually there's a scratch off code you can check on aspire's website to see if the coils are real or knockoffs.

If you aren't drinking at least a few extra glasses of water/fluid per day since vaping, you're definitely setting yourself up for Vaper's tongue. Thankfully there is plenty of information on the web (including right here) to offer ways to avoid it, and to "cure" it.

That said, it could very well be something with your hardware, but that's really just going to come down to troubleshooting and I suspect you'll get a ton of good info from the folks here about that.

Welcome to the forum, don't let early troubles deter you, it's a bit of a journey to really dial in what you like and have that perform consistently. Enjoy the learning curve!!

You're about right for vaper's tongue, if that's what is happening. It's a weird phenomenon and no one really understands why it happens (at least, I haven't seen a real explanation, but I do have a theory that one's new tastebuds are growing in from quitting smoking, but that's only a *theory*). Do things to cleanse your palate such as drinking citrus liquids (some ppl like Orange or Lemon zest), and chewing on a cinnamon stick may help, just basically things to clear your palate and return your taste buds to normal. Staying hydrated is important. Also, varying your e-juice flavors may help, as well as using strong flavors like cinnamon or mints. If that's not helping, vaping unflavored juice may help, as if you don't have the "expectation" of flavor, you won't be frustrated. Then, in a couple days, try again with your regular juices.

I'm assuming that you didn't switch up anything else besides coils? No higher wattage, different coil, anything like that? If you have the 0.7 coil you might try that as well, it's a flavorful, cloudy vape and lightly sub0hm, but nothing too overwhelming....

Some people find the end up loving one or two juices, some folks vary flavoring a lot. When my flavor starts to mute, it's sometimes a sign that I need to change my coil, but from your post it sounds like you are having this problem with brand new coils?

How long has this been going on? If you search on the site about "vaper's tongue" you'll find more information and remedies on the subject....

Hope this helps and hope your taste returns soon. Best of luck.

Also there are some juices that just don't hold up in tanks, great for dripping only. Two of my favorites are like that.
Same here my favorite juice burned a coil on my fav tank xD
Didn't listen to my vape shop clerk who told me it was a hard liquid for factory coils lolz
Guess i'm paying for not listening

Well that depends - if you like the juice enough, you may end up paying more... *koff!* new RDA excuse *koff!*
Nahh i like that juice enough that i'll use my rba base for my baby beast if i have to ;) I don't do Rba's and probably never will i like tanks better (serpent smm is my next purchase).

Eat some fruity candy. Drink some strong coffee (and stay in the room with the pot). And drink a lot of water. You are almost certainly experiencing Vaper's Tongue, which is a colloquialism for olfactory fatigue. Basically, you've overwhelmed the taste buds and nasal and esophageal membranes and they're telling you that they want something different.

It's frustrating, but it is temporary and we've all been there. :)

I'll try some of these things. Would the difference between 1.6 & 1.8 coils matter ?? Just wandering. Its been happening probably a week but i thought it was the cheap coils so i didn't worry, but now the new (official brand) coils are herr its got me stressed

Yeah will never do that again, i mainly vape 50-50 or 70 pg - 30 vg .. a couple of different flavours but i'll definitely try something way different. Yeah official coils i bought them from the website, and they have the scratch off as well

Drink more water, stay hydrated.
Why?

We need to hydrate and rinse our mouths and nasal passages more, not necessarily our bladders.

Rinse, gargle, brush, steam breathe, flush, netty pot, etc. ...

Remove the film and rehydrate locally. ;)

Depends on where you live. If you live in a hot climate, the water may not make it to your bladder, you might sweat it out.

Well, agreed on hydrating surface areas sure, but I think more water kinda helps toxins flush out, so I drank a lot more chamomile tea with lemon and honey for a while.... Chamomile is also calming, for me at least more than any over the counter herb has any right to be, so I was slightly sedated through my cigarette detox. Everyone seemed fine with that, LOL.

I don't disagree.

But these are completely unrelated to vaping be it vapers tongue or the hygroscopic nature of our juices.

Drinking gallons of water a day might cure my vapers tongue.

But gargling and swishing 2 or 3 extra ounces a day (1/2 ounce at a time) of biotene, cepacol or Listerine will cure it.

Yes, doing that will probably cure it better than drinking gallons of just water, and there are plenty of other remedies. In fact I forgot one, a tongue scraper. That's probably a good way to help out tastebuds liberally coated with e-juice. :)

Anna
Yes.

Good thinking.

Even better if you wash it down or rinse and spit after.

ETA: Citrus fruits really help too. They like to break down oily residue. ;)
