flavours... shop local?

hey gang...

one more question on my quest to re-engage in the vaping lifestyle :)

Flavours : Can I simply walk into a grocery store or some baking supply or something similar and grab flavours off the shelf? Are these not essentially what the various supplies are sending us? Or are they very specific and need to be ordered from far off lands in order to contain the right stuff?

I'd love to get all my PG/VG/NIC from a supplier but actually go shopping for some flavours... hard to find that taste i really like and I want to experiment without having to order and wait for a whack of little bottles to show up...

thoughts?

Am i crazy?

(answer cautiously... I am awaiting new gear and a little on the edge! :) )

Short answer, no! They are not concentrated enough. One stop shopping = Happy Jack for all your DIY needs, except nic.

I second this, as I was in a situation where I had no flavors, read on the forums about the things you can get it the grocery store and thought I would give it a try. Very weak flavors, but then again I also was mixed with 0 nic pv/vg, which may have been a large part of why I didn't like them. I am pretty new to vaping and had only ever tried the tobacco flavor when I did this, perhaps once I have tried some of jack's flavors, I may revisit them with some 36mg nic juice, VG and 20% flavor just to compare.

Just be sure that you look on the ingredients of the flavors, some of them contain oils, sugar and caramel colors, which I read will ruin your atty. The two I tried were Vanilla and raspberry McCormicks and the ingredients were water, PG, alcohol, and natural and artificial flavor. Perhaps boiling them down may have helped, as the first ingredient in both was water.

I also read that Michaels craft store carries the Loranns line and from the sounds of it, it is much more concentrated than the McCormicks (but now that I think about it, boiling it down would probably work pretty well). Some walmarts also carry the loranns, usually found in the pharmacy section, not sure why cause they are supposed to be for candy making? Keep me posted on what you find and how it goes, I would be interested in finding something local as well.

Agreed, wholeheartedly! Flavour isn't an area you can cut corners on - but you don't need to either.

You're in Peterborough: if you choose Expedited shipping when you order flavourings from Happy Vaper, it should get to you within 2 days. That's fast. Price is super affordable too - only $2 to $3 per 3mL bottle.

If you order larger bottles directly from Perfumer's Apprentice in California, the shipping price & wait times can vary...but to date, all my orders from them have arrived within 10 days, & that was choosing the slowest, cheapest shipping option.

Flavoring for DIY requires concentrated flavors. They're not the easiest to find. LorAnn carries a wide range and has been used by many for DIY liquids.

Whenever I get a DIY craze (once a month or so) - I head to Michaels Craft shop or PM Hobby Craft in Calgary to see what's new. I like the idea of just picking up something new without having to wait for it to come in the post... it's the impulse control thing that stops working from time to time....

There are a couple very strong vanilla flavors you can get from the supermarket. They're usually in a PG base - and this keeps the flavor better. You can add these directly to a flavorless nicotine instead of using PG to cut it. The color's a bit strange - but it vapes well.

The concentrated flavors are still best though. by far!
