To add to this... I've read it and have already performed the mod (removing the inner cup and using only the o-ring). Before this, it created an absolutely horrid vapor that tasted like burning hair.

It definitely helped, but I'm still getting a hint of burnt taste as well from time to time.

I'm running the 2.2-2.4ohm versions as well on a genuine joyetech eGo battery, which I think is limited to 3.2-3.4v... I figured I needed the lower ohm versions, could that be wrong?

I've found that the tip that comes with them is awful!!

Something I've learned from bottom feeding is do a couple pulls without the heat to draw the liquid up through the wick or/and tip it up to get the white cup ( that has the coil in it) saturated.

Once you get the idea how they work, it's alot easier to keep it moist so you don't get any dry hits.

The rubber/plastic taste is awful but after you get juice flowing through it, it will wash itself out.

For me, well i don't like that low of ohms, but I am generally accounted an odd duck. The only way to know is to try the different ohms really.

But if you are already modded appropriately, have you tried tilting it occasionally so the juice goes towards the top of the wick?

heres another tip, screw on fluxo to battery, remove tube by wiggling off(try to remove all plugs first)

the if you have a butane lighter, carefully fire up the caremaic cup on the outside and inside as much as you can without melting the sleeve under the cup, also give the coil a few blasts, then fluff, fill and vape.

just a different way to go about this.

im still working with microcig on getting all fluxos to start using the new easy fill plug and mouth peace

Well, I didn't do the cap mod (trimming the flange off the cap and using that as a plug)... just using the outer o-ring as the cap. I even fluffed the wick while I was in there.

Tilting it from time to time does help, but with the o-ring only I end up with some leakage and splatter of juice in my mouth.

I'm totally new to vaping and certainly new to these clearomizers. I like them as a concept... I just wish I could get reliable, good tasting hits off of them regularly. Even with tilting, there is still a underlying burnt plastic/rubber taste. I'll give them some more time to break in.

Thats one way. Did you flip the o ring upside down, that helps. You can also flip the bigger seal upside down and use that, which tends to prevent mouth splatter, but admittedly makes the mouth piece not always fit right in.

Dry burn first. For the last half year ( ish ? ) the fluxo batches haven't been as clean as they were. I never just fill and vape anymore. Some won't have solder gunk, but a lot of them will, so wash in water, dry burn, do again if necessary. Then if it's hard to get the ash out after the dry burning and scraping, drop a few drops of juice that you'll use straight through the airhole, down past the battery connection. Blow out, fill, vape.

Enjoy =)

I also think the juice may have something to do with it. So far I've only been using my new Alien Visions juice (Bobas Bounty and RAF) and I'm noticing they are crazy thick. Perhaps that is causing wicking problems.
Do you know the VG content?
VG doesn't wick well on these. The more PG the better.

All I have been using is Fluxos now for over 3 months. When I get a new pack I remove the cup seal and throw that away. Then remove the tube and stick the inards of the Fluxo into alcohol. I use 91% but you can use 180 proof. I leave them soak for 5 mins and then remove and allow them to dry. Since its 91% alc it doesn't take long for them to dry but to be extra safe I leave them to dry over night. I then dry burn and assemble using a trimed O-ring as the cup seal. I mix my own juice and find a VG content of at least 30% stops any leaking. The alc bath removes the oily substance that I am guessing they use to make it easier to jam the cup seal over the cup. I have just dry burned without the alc bath and got that nasty taste and sticky film in the cup and on the coil. After my cleaning procedure they produce great vapor and taste clean,

so I should mod it / or break it in? People have confusing topics, im newer to vaping and havent got the tools to do a lot of these moddings, i was just looking for a realiable ce2 and I thought these would work, but for now all I get is a really off taste

I normally am used to just dripping all the time

honestly, it is a matter of preference, personally, I find the visions to be more reliable and less fiddly than the fluxos, albeit more expensive. For me that is worth it.

Almost everyone mods the fluxos though. But THEY ARE more reliable in that the tubes don't crack, they don't burn out as much, and they just don't leak. Compared to the crackomizers I tried first they are worlds away. But the balance between flooding and dry hits is a pretty fine line for the most part.

My suggestion:

1. Take out all seals and vape it with absolutely no seals whatsoever a few tokes, being careful to be upright so you don't spill.
a) If it tastes fine that way, then take the smallest thinnest gasket and turn it upside down and push it down there OR take the bigger gasket and turn it upside down and push it back in.
b) If it still tastes funny with no seals, empty it, rinse it with warm/hot water, soak it in peroxide and let it dry. Dry burn if necessary. It may be when you first started there was either primer on there or smutz of some sort, or that you scorched the wick and/or juice. Once you have soaked it and dried it, refill and start over.

I will say this, I got the new Fluxos with the white inner seal. I really wanted to love the new seal, but I had to toss it, and go back to the o-ring. It just wasn't the same. :(

That being said, I haven't spent a lot of time with it -- testing other review items -- but it seemed to work okay after removing.
