Hi all,

I will be flying out of town soon. What do I need to know about traveling with E-Cigs? I have 2 Ego batteries and a myriad of juices. Obviously, I will have to limit what juices I take with me. But anyone here have any experience traveling with these things? What should I expect from TSA?

Any advice is helpful, especially from those that have done this before. Thank ya!

I would treat e juice as any other liquid you are traveling with. Bottles must be in a clear plastic bag if liquid amt is small enough to carry on. Which I'm sure e liquid is. I would just check it though. As far as batteries and tanks I'd just check all of it. Just keep maybe an ego and one tank in your carry on for when u get off the plane. DO NOT VAPE ON THE PLANE. That could be very bad if someone sees vapor and a little devise with a light on it.

You can not check lithium batteries. If your checked bag is searched and they find lithium batteries, they will be disposed of.

Each bottle can be 100ml. You can put as many 100ml bottles as will fit in a 1 quart bag, or as many 30ml, or 7ml...

This is what I needed to know. It's only a 4 day trip, so was only going to take a few bottles with me. I can take as many bottles as I want as long as they fit in the bag, right? And as long as each bottle is no bigger than 3.4 ounces?

Yes, as many bottles 3.4 oz. or smaller as will fit in a 1 quart zip lock bag and still have it close, which is actually a significant amount.

just flew with 200ml in main bag and a 30 mil in my pocket and they treated it like business as usual. (now my mod did raise some eyes though)

I bet a mod, especially the boxy kind, would be a bit of an eyebrow raiser. My Ego-s should be ok, then. I'll just store them in my laptop bag, no biggie. :) Thanks for your help everyone. I also checked the TSA website.

Is my Ego considered one of these batteries? I can be shut off with a few clicks.

It is contained within a device, but I'd just put it in my carry on bag, just in case. I recently flew with about 12 Halo Triton batteries in my carry on with no issues. I do put my electronics in a quart bag, as well. Makes it a lot easier if they want to have a second look, than digging through compartments in my bag to get everything out.

I have no experience. But something tells me it wont be fun...

At Prague, CZ and Amsterdam airports, I got the extra security screening. They knew what the e-nic gear was, but still swabbed every battery, tank and bottle of e-liquid with the drug swabs. Sadly, the other crowd is using vape gear for nefarious purposes.

I can only share my experience. Recently I traveled overseas. Airports were Dulles, Zurich, Istanbul, Munich. I had to go through security multiple times. I only had disposables in my carry on. I had a 1gallon zip lock bag full of disposables in my checked bag along with multiple bottles of liquid and Evods with ego batteries. Never had any problems. In Istanbul, they thought my watch was a bomb. But they never looked at my vape stuff. In some of those countries, security is much tighter than the US. I wouldn't be too concerned about taking a reasonable amount of hardware in my carry on now.

I fly regularly within the US never had a problem with TSA.

The main problem i had the first couple of times was juice leaking out of my tanks due to the pressure changes in the cabin.

My suggestion would be to squeeze as much air out of your bottles as you can and then seal them and empty tanks before you fly.

If you (hypothetically, as its against the rules on most airline ;) ) wanted to pop to the toilet and vape, I'd suggest a dripping atty or RDA.
