I'm really enjoying my new fogger now that I have it figured out. I was getting some burned hits when chain vaping at .4 ohms. I'm using readywick 2 mm that was placed loosely in the juice channels. I tried an experiment with the 3mm stuff.
Instead of putting the wick in the juice channel, I just sort of pushed it around under the coil so that it sits on top of the channel opening. I was worried at first that I would have flooding problems, but so far so good! It will probably work just fine with the 2nd stuff using this method, I'm sure I'll try it sometime, but this particular setup I'm running now is great and I see no need to change it anytime soon.

Nice.
I drilled out my air holes and put holes in the afc ring 7/64"
I started at .22ohms and rebuilt a couple times up to .45ohms.
Still got dry hits after 3-4 chain vaping lung hits.
I'm running cotton though.
Compared to the Aqua, the channels are really small.
So I enlarged them. And went back to .22ohms.
It does perform better, but will still run dry chain vaping it.
I'm gonna shorten my wicks and see what happens.
Might flood on my now since I opened those channels so much. lol

This is at .45 ohms with the juice/wick channels only slightly enlarged.

This is after enlarging some moar

oh. btw. don't bother drilling out the airholes as big as I did.
I did that before even checking the chamber top id.
It's kinda small like 3.5mm and can't be enlarged like the Aqua can.

I tried laying some cotton around the juice channels and not in them. While it wicked much better I got a lot of flooding and leaking at the air holes. I ended up with just half the diameter of the channel filled and some cotton laying around it, that works a little better with no flooding. I still get dry hits fairly quickly.

I have been thinking about taking a drill to the juice channels but just haven't got around to it. I am thinking I should be fine to enlarge them to the size of my Aqua clone to start with. That thing almost wicks to well for my 0.5 ohm builds. The airflow on my v4 is about where I like it so I don't think I will mess with that. I think my aqua clone has slightly larger channels that that second pic. What size bit did you use for that one?

The Aqua juice wells are huge compared to the Fogger V4 - and that's after I lightly enlarged the Fogger.
(I used a carbide dremel bit - but drilling would work too).

I tried cutting the wicks right at the top of the channels and got a little gurgle.

Then I tried a wee bit longer and keeping a little of the wick in the channel and some on the deck.
That has been working perfectly.

I recommend using smaller coils thus forcing the use of less cotton, dry hits almost always due to the use of too much cotton, also, and if not using smaller coils I recommend cutting the tails at a angle so they are pointed and reduced by half. This will get you going 90% of the time.

Got my fogger V4 in built .88 ohm dual coils 28GA wire. Vape was amazing and then I went to screw it onto my hades mod and found out the diameter of the 510 connecter on the Fogger is too small or incorrectly threaded. Wobboles all over the place trying to put it on and does not tighten down on the hades, I removed it afraid it would damage the threads on the mod and sure enough it did put some wear on it, put my .28mm stillare back on the hades and it went on fine. I then tried putting the fogger v4 on the Sentinel M16 and Panzer with the same results, wobbly loose. I was able to get a connection on the M16 and if vaped incredible but it's totally useless if I can't put it on a 28650 mod or have to worry about screwing the threads up on my mod every time I use it. Contacted the seller on ebay and am shipping it back to him today. I was contemplating on having him check another one for fitment on his mods and sending it to me but now I'm worried about just wasting time and money in shipping and getting another lousy one and having issues. Seems like quality control on these may be an issue and I don't know if I feel like playing the nut shell game trying find or get a good one. At this point I'm pretty dissapointed.

One other thing I noticed threads on stove pipe were loose as well.

Yeah, I jus wanna cry... :( Least I got my trusty Kayfun's...

I'm not sure if any have had good results placing wick tails completely in stock channels, myself included. It wasn't until I placed tails over holes that I was able to see great results. Once I placed tails over channels I ever so gently press a few strands of cotton tails into channels, just enough to keep them there. And like others have mentioned, the tails cannot be to big or wide.

How do you not make the tails big or wide? do you chop them up at a angle and trim some off or what? roll the cotton or rayon tight?

All this is explained in a lot more detail in the fogger v4 thread, but there are basically 2 wicking methods for anyone else having issues:

#1: For fogger v4.0-4.2 only, maybe 4.4 (smaller chimney, bigger juice channels) (4.4 is official 4.1, vendor didn't like our numbering system :p). Cut the wicks at a 45º angle and put them just barely in the channels. You don't want any of the wick in the bottom part of the L shaped juice channels, if that makes sense.

#2: Recommended for fogger v4.3 (Bigger deck, smaller juice channels) is the Kayfun style wicking. No wick in the actual channels, but pull the wicks up & put the bottom part of the chimney on. Cut the wicks even with the top of the chimney, then gently press them down on top of the juice channels. Do NOT use something small enough to actually poke them into the channels, you just want them laying on top.

For me it's the size of the coil. I think I used a 1.7mm or maybe 1.8mm. With this diameter the tails just seem to be the perfect size. The lenght of the tails are cut to a point where they barely bunch up right over the hole. Also I do cut them on an angle.

Yes I am finding this was my problem wicking my Kayfun and Russians... And It was so frustrating because when I first started building I had no problems... turns out I was using 1/16 and 5/64 bits for my first few weeks building then when I started using larger diameter coils I was putting the right amount of cotton through the coil but the ends that go down to the deck were too wide and I wasn't cutting them down this apply to the fogger and Kayfun for me I just couldn't get smooth wicking but now I am back in business... finally

You look at these attys and think, nothing to it, but there is. so many little things that take time to get just right. sounds like your getting there though so keep with it. good luck

I have found that if I go with 30g wire, 8 wraps each coil around a small drill bit ( idk the size, just the one I do my micro coils with) I come out with 1 ohm. Then if I use VERY little cotton ( like the trimmings left over from wicking my RDA's) I get the best performance from the v4. I also let the cotton IN the coil be a little tight but I snip, trim, and shave the cotton that goes into the juice channel to where it is just the same width as the channel itself. Been running this setup for a few days now with a 70 vg blend and have yet to have a dry hit. Also this was the " LAST D*MN TIME I REBUILD THIS F&%*ING THING BEFORE I GIVE IT AWAY TYPE OF BUILD." I find the flavor to be less than my kayfuns or my Russian v2 but the vapor is MUCH better.

Hope this helps.
