Forced back to Analogs

Well I quess my love for vaping has been short lived. Unfortunately I am being forced to go back to analogs. Because of all the panic and hording I can't find replacement parts for my 901. Been waiting for stock to come in to the point that my last battery and atty are about to crap out. Everywhere I look they either have attys in stock but not batteries or maybe batteries but not attys and I can't afford to pay postage to 2 different places. Or the price is so high once you add postage its not worth the price. Truesmoker has been out of stock for over 2 weeks now puresmoker doesn't even offer anything but the prodigy anymore and so on and so on. If its going to be this hard to get what you need is it really worth it? Its not fair to hord I think its wrong because people like me suffer because another persons selfishness.:(

It's a temporary setback.....don't totally give up on vaping. If you have to use analogs for a bit until your supplies open back up, don't fret.

But don't give up.....there are mods out there to take care of the battery issues you're having - and some excellent DIY modders out there have some excellent guides...

Attys - if you keep the package sizes small, you can still ship in from China.

Juice - you can forgo the nic and make that yourself, as well.

Good luck!

Hi Gardenia,

Looks like you and I started vapeing around same time. I have had no problem finding suppliers for my 901 parts. I have had great sucess with several suppliers, let me know if you need any recommendations. Shipping costs essentially equates a pack of cigarettes. How much were you spending a week on those?

Please hang in there, the only person that can force you back to analogs is you.....well, unless to gov't gets involved, but that's a whole 'nother story.

Gardenia,

The supplies are out there, you just have to look for them. I would suggest you expand your shopping experience to more than a couple of vendors. If one vendor goes out of stock, you will have another to fall back on. A quick look this morning shows that My Vapor Store has all the supplies you mentioned in stock with reasonable shipping. I'm sure as the day progresses, others will post additional links as well.

The hoarding of supplies by some folks is unfortunate, but that's human nature. Personally, if my shopping experience reaches the point where I can't find the supplies I need at a decent price then it's time to chuck this habit as well. ;)

There are plenty of suppliers out there with stuff. For example, Widows Bead Work - Home has 901 batteries ($12.50) and atomizers ($10) free shipping. You just have to spend a bit of time searching . . . and maybe pay a bit more.

If you want to start back with analogs, that's certainly your choice . . . but no one is "forcing" you.

A bit of empathy works wonders for most us when we're feeling disgruntled.
Happy Hunting Gardenia, hope you find the stuff!

:)

I think some of us are just nicer than others. :)

I'd like to think that I have a fair amount of sympathy for folks, but for some reason this really struck a sour note with me. It's one thing to complain about having to spend a lot of time and perhaps extra money hunting down supplies . . . it's quite another to announce you're being "forced" back to analogs because other e-smokers are so selfish.

Kim, you have this wonderful ability to speak volumes with few words. I respect that as I tend to bloviate. <g>

But, there are definitely suppliers out there with parts to sell. It may not be one-stop shopping like one may want it to be ideally, although from what I've seen that isn't the case here. From my limited exposure (a week today sans analogs! yay!) to e-cigs, this forum and all the information one needs to digest, the whole procedure can be daunting. It tests one's research skills, online computer skills and a whole new shopping experience. It's a lot to contend with and in most cases unexpected. I mean, I just wanted to buy an e-cig when I found this forum. I didn't expect that I'd have to learn about mixing juices, what goes into them if you're buying pre-mixed, a possible government ban afoot, discerning one product from another, translating Chinglish, (in my case) calculating the milliamp load for a battery mod, etc, etc, etc. Hell, I'm even attending a rally/protest on Friday.

I think Gardenia's post hits home with a lot us because we see ourselves in one small part of that original post. That is, the knee-jerk reaction to being tobacco-free. The "being *forced* back into cigarettes" part. 'Tis an excuse like so many others we've all used when trying to quit smoking. It's no different than; "I'll quit after the holidays and the stress subsides" kind of thing.

Gardenia, I'm not saying that you are making an excuse, just that it *sounds that way* and that we can relate to that. I think you're truly frustrated in finding the right supplier and that's where this group's support comes in. I'm not a 901 guy so I'll leave it to others to suggest vendors that will suit you. I bet there are dozens that can accomodate your criteria.

Good luck to you.

:) and, despite being accused of being part of the hoarding problem, most who responded to the OP (with varying degrees of tolerance) offered real solutions to her issue....suggesting suppliers, giving options, offering help.

When I read Gardenia's original posting I detected a underlying frustration with e-cigs in general. Been there myself a couple of times.

When I first started vaping, I carried a pack of analogs with me everywhere I went, just in case I needed them. I expected to have to smoke an analog, I just didn't know when I would "need" to. It was my security blanket. One day I was having a real bad time vaping due to battery issues, I could not get a decent draw. I was exasperated and almost in tears. I was in a boat and had a battery charger, but no power pack or anything else that would give me relief. My husband reminded me that I had a pack of analogs with me (he hates smoking, so you know I must have been a mess). I surprised myself when I told him that smoking an analog wasn't an option. I suffered through until one of my batteries charged up enough to give me that perfect draw. I went home and got busy searching for a power pack so I would never have that problem again. That day I realized that I had truly crossed over and left analogs after 40 years of smoking. I really thought I would use the first excuse to smoke an analog. Instead, I am willing to do whatever it takes to vape. I have no idea where my unopened pack of analogs are, I'm too busy mixing juice, filling carts, charging batteries, rigging passthroughs and powerpacks, reading the forum and scouring the web for the best prices on supplies to look for them.

How much does cancer costs these days?
Smoke a few and find the supplies!
At two attys and batteries and liquid a week, after shipping, I dont spend what I spent on smokes- there is no way you can afford smokes if you cant afford parts!;)
