Any members on here use vaping as a way to quit chewing, like I am? I'm curious about your experiences in dealing with cravings, getting used to inhaling your nicotine, and things like that.

Personally, I use a really sweet and powerful mint gum to take care of the "burn" you get between your cheek and gum. Stride Spearmint does the trick well for me. And the vaping has replaced the cravings for nicotine. I started on 18 mg juice, but I'm thinking about cutting down to 12 mg, and seeing if it alleviates some of the throat and chest congestion I'm experiencing.

Mostly, I'm just happy that I've begun to worry less about my face falling off. :D

I did, I was at 2-3 cans of Copenhagen a day as well as smoked a half pack to a pack a day. I haven't touched any dip since April when I first got an iTaste.
Nicotine was my biggest problem. I mean I could pack my lip full and not feel anything. One thing that helped since I drip is moving down to 3mg. I did the mint gum too since I was dipping Copenhagen Mint before I quit.

First, welcome to the board. Second, congratulations for taking a huge step in quitting. I chewed when I was a lot younger, however, I was able to quit. Cigarettes, on the other hand, were not so easy for me to put down. Nevertheless, I know chewing is very addictive, may be more so because you're getting a straight shot of tobacco and nicotine.

I like your strategy. The act of "chewing" tobacco is obviously different from smoking it, but both are habit forming and involve nicotine. So I think you're taking the right steps to stop chewing. I started off at 24 nicotine strength, but I was able to cut down to 6 mg. liquid. Now I rotate between 6 mg and 0 mg. liquid and have found that I really don't miss the heavier dose of nicotine. So it's very possible to cut down from 18 to 12 mg liquid without missing a beat.

Keep going on the path you're on. Make vaping fun by trying out all the different flavors and equipment, and use this board to keep a journal of what works for you. After all, any information you write down will help you keep track of your progress, and who knows, there may be another chewer out there that could stumble onto this site and use your advice as to how to quit chewing through vaping.

In the meantime, good luck brother.
