Found a helpful tool: 12V car USB charger

I got a high output 12V Rosewill adapter from newegg shipped for $20
It has two 1 amp USB ports and two 3 amp cigarette adapter slots. Item#:N82E16882021129
The USB ports powered a USB e-cig charger and a passthrough while one of the cigarette adapter ports powered a 1 amp charger for my phone.
The only downside is its size. If you don't need the extra cig ports they have a Rosewill 12V dual port USB charger for $13 shipped. Item#:N82E16882021130.

That is IDEAL! I'm about to make a cross-country road trip, and have been trying to figure out all the splitters and adapters I would need for PT/GPS/Cell charger/etc, and this handles everything I need!

Just keep in mind a PT without an inline battery may need up to 2 amps to fully funtion!

Agreed. I know my cell charger is very low amperage; I do need to check on the GPS though.

If the PT ends up drawing too much, I'll just have to do USB charging and battery rotating instead. Annoying, but I can deal.

The One I got from V4L works fine on this 1A USB port and a 1A USB port on my home charger too. One thing I have noticed though, My phone's induction charger uses a 1A 12V Palm charger, but when plugged into the 1A USB port of the Rosewill adapter, it doesn't charge my phone. I wonder what's different...but not enough to connect a meter to it.
