I just thought I'd share this review I found since I just ordered 2 of these.

[h=3]Rocket tank and Battery First Impression Review[/h]

I've been waiting to try something like this for some time now. Ever since the Stardusts became popular, I hoped for one that would hold a decent amount of e-liquid. Finally, my wish has been granted!

I also got the matching battery for it just because it's pretty and will be nice for going out. The battery even came fully charged according to the green light on my eGo charger, but we'll see how far the 650mAh goes.

I scored this from my favourite Australian vendor Vape King | Electronic Cigarettes | E-liquids | Atomizers | Cartomizers for an introductory price of only $5.95 and also picked up a couple of replacement heads for $2.95 each. Replacement bodies are available in case your juice cracks the plastic part, which I'm guessing is the standard polycarbonate.

It comes apart very simply and is as easy to fill as the Stardust, only it takes a little longer because I fit 7ml of e-liquid in there. I really like that it is made from stainless steel, I really like the look but most importantly, I really like the vape! I let it stand for maybe 1 minute after filling and the first puff was a very nice clean flavour from my favourite e-liquid. I've yet to experience any gurgling at all but we will see how it fares after a few days of bouncing around in my pocket. The draw is perfect for me, not too stiff, not too airy. The throat hit is a bit less than I'm used to for the 12mg nicotine level I usually vape, but is definitely still present. This may be due to my pain medication so I won't judge just yet. It also seems to be wicking like a champ, I haven't gotten a dry scratchy hit yet and I've hammered it a few good times consecutively. I'll have to wait and see if it slows down any when the e-liquid level drops down.

The battery cost only $12.95, is stated to be unregulated and fits my Joyetech eGo charger just fine. It has the standard 5 click on/off feature but the button doesn't flash when turning on or off as usual. The red and blue LEDs are kind of cute but nothing too special really as they're not very bright, which is fine by me because I'd much rather use the battery power to produce vapour instead of bright lights. It is quite small in the hand and would be nice for stealth vaping except for the big honking tank on the top of it! I purchased the 1.8-2.2 ohm version of the tank so the battery gives more than enough power for that. Being stainless, it's a bit of a fingerprint magnet but since it's so small it's easy to wipe clean on the corner of my t-shirt once in a while.

I just tried my 1.8 ohm i06 on it and I would have to say this is definitely an unregulated battery with a full charge. It gives a fair better hit than it would on a stock standard Joyetech eGo-T 900mAh battery. It even fires a 1.5 ohm dual coil tank cartomizer quite nicely, though that won't normally be on there. My eGo shorty cone and tank skirt both fit perfectly in case I want to cover the threads or use a different tank. Using my i06 inside a Siam Mods stainless sleeve and Apex tru-flow tip, this will definitely be a good stealth vape!

My first impressions are quite favourable, it's a very spiffy looking unit and so far the vape quality is really quite excellent. The draw is not as stiff as I had with the one Stardust I've tried and flavour is extremely clean. I'm getting plenty of vapour without having to take excessively long drags so as long as the performance holds and it rides in my pocket happily, I will be quite happy to recommend these.

I will update this periodically as to how it continues to perform and if there are any questions feel free to contact me.

Thanks for reading, I hope my experience is helpful!

[Update after 4 hours use]

I've vaped this puppy hard for about four hours on the charge the battery shipped with, the last half an hour or so has been slightly unsatisfying in comparison to how it vaped on the fresh battery. I've got it charging at the moment and am confident that it behaves as an li-ion battery should, but in the meantime I've put an adapter on and the tank is sitting on top of my Lava Tube.

Definitely has a bit of a sci-fi look to it! In and of itself, the tank is performing quite excellently I have to say. I get a very slight gurgle once in a while but just vape on through it like a boss. No dry burned hits yet! I've gone through maybe a couple of ml of juice in it and the flavour is still quite clean and good, I'd say this coil favours the sweeter e-liquids perhaps, it seems to bring out the lighter notes in my favourite flavour a bit more. I'm sure it still has a bit more breaking in to do so I'll be vaping this hard at 4.1v and will update this again later tonight.

[Update after 10+ hours of use]

I'm still getting to know this tank intimately here, I would say the coil is fully broken in by now and the flavour is still very good and clean. It's also delivering a more full range of the flavour now and isn't quite as pronounced on the lighter flavours with my favourite e-liquid like it seemed to be at first. I definitely have no complaints in the flavour department.

Vapour production is quite good also still, no changes there but sometimes if it overwicks and gets floody, vapour production can slack off a little until you either blow the excess out or vape through it (Which can be impossible if it's been run a bit too hot, which is my guess as to one cause of overwicking.)

I noticed when putting this tank on my Lava Tube if I bumped the voltage up a bit, it can really rock but that can come with a bit of a caveat. When it gets too hot (greedy vapour hog!) it can get quite sloppy and gurgly. Once that starts it can just snowball a little and end up with a very wet battery connector. The only way I've found to deal with it is to blow it out from the battery connector end with the tip off then wiping it and the atomizer connector clean before hitting it again. Sometimes you just have to let it rest a little and cool down. Sharp draws are also not recommended for this or you can end up sucking a drop or two of juice into your mouth. Nice easy draws and not chain vaping it too much seem to let it behave quite nicely but if you push it, expect it to gurgle and spit a little.

I hope they do pay attention to feedback from vapers on this device and eventually release an updated version with improvements! To me, it is like an improved Stardust with huge e-liquid capacity and a nice stainless finish. My trusty DCT is feeling neglected now...

[Update after ~24 hours use]

I am still really enjoying this vape and it took me pretty much a whole day of moderate to hard vaping to empty half the tank. The only thing more I can really say about it is that you have to be gentle on the draw if you overfill yours like I did mine or else you could get flooding and gurgling. The other thing is when the e-liquid level gets around have, you still have to tip it to wet the wicks just like you would for a short-wicked Stardust. You'll get a fairly burned taste to remind you if you forget!

All in all, I will say this is a pretty fantastic tank! It's very nice looking, the materials and machining seem to be of a very good quality, the ease of use makes it suitable for a wider range of people, the flavour is outstanding, the vapour production is very good and it can hold a LOT of juice. *whew* I recommend caution in chain vaping it or drawing too sharply, especially if you overfill like me and also you may need to tip it some despite the long wicks.

I'll be adding a list of vendors known to carry these soon, I've seen one vendor having these in a choice of colours!

[Update after ~48 hours use]

I've had to blow it out a few times by now in order to relieve gurgling and leaking, once it starts it seems, it tends to just keep increasing until it's a little messy. I'm fairly sure this behaviour increases if you vape heavily on it and it starts getting hot. The stainless material doesn't resist or release the heat so much, so if you vape on it a lot, it will start to flood as the liquid wicks more aggressively toward the increasing heat source. I've refilled it once and gone through about 1/4 of the second tankful as of this writing. Refilling is as easy as filling it in the first place was, no problems there whatsoever. But if you are a heavy or chain vaper, you might well get overwicking, gurgling and leaking. Used casually it's not as prone but can still eventually build up to that point. I've been vaping on it an awful lot and the flavour is still very good but once or twice I did get a pretty burned hit when in the latter portion of a tankful and forgetting to tip it often enough. Since then the flavour has a *little* sharpness to it. I'm going to have a go at changing the head in it and cleaning the intial one. I'll write more about that soon!

[Update after changing the replacement head/coil thingy]

As I was getting a lot of flooding and a little leaking because of it, I decided to change the innards out to see how that went. It was pretty easy to use a syringe and remove the e-liquid in the tank, I had to do a little tilting while drawing with the syringe but managed to save my favourite e-liquid. If a tiny bit is still in the tank you can avoid mess by keeping it on its side and it shouldn't spill out as long as you don't tip it. The inner came out very easily and the new innards fit in just as easily, really the whole process only took a couple of minutes because I made sure all the threads were clean before putting it all back together. That's when I made a little discovery, the airflow had been obstructed some by a little bit of tissue in the battery connector! This could easily have contributed to the minor frustration I was having with it. Since the airway is nice and clear and the new coil has been in the tank, it's been vaping just fine and not getting too gurgly now that I know not to draw too sharply or chain vape it too hard. I've put the original innards to soak in some alcohol, no sense wasting them because they're probably still just fine but a good clean will make them almost like new again I'm sure. I think the replacement inners aren't too expensive and I do think I will have to stock up on a few of them even though I plan on trying to replace the wick and coil myself at some stage. I'm just very happy the gurgling and flooding has now subsided.
