I found this posted in the New Members forum by "Louie the Rat". Another plus for us that Pulmologists are beginning to recommend e-cigs for their smoking patients who are unable or unwilling to quit smoking cigarettes.

Pulmonary specialist

Hi folks, I posted a question a few days ago asking if anybody had had an adverse experience with vapeing. Thanks for all your responses. Since then I've talked to a friend of mine who is a respiratory therapist. One of the folks who gives breathing treatments and breathing tests at a hospital. She also works at the office of a Dr. who is a pulmonary specialist ( a specialist who deals in the treatment of lung diseases). She told me that he recommends e cigs to his patients who smoke and that they have had good success with them. I thought you folks would want to know. It certainly gave me a lot more confidence to hear that. I have not yet gotten my e-cig kit ordered. The maxx fussions minis are out of stock and I'm waiting for them to be available. Hope it will be soon, really want to give it a try. When I get my kit I'll let you know how I make out.

I usually go along when my husband has a follow-up with the otolaryngologist (Ear, Nose & Throat specialist, for the Latin-challenged among us). When we saw him last month, the Doc was very happy to take a look at my electronic cigarettes. I saw him against today and took along a copy of CASAA's tri-fold brochure on e-cigs. To my delight I learned that just yesterday he was at a 7-11, and purchased an electronic cigarette to give to a doctor friend of his who has struggled for years to stop smoking. I'm pretty sure that he will be recommending this to his patients that can't stop smoking.

Suggestion to ECF members:

Print and give a copy to your doctor.
