You might want to check with your CC company, or check within your online account, to see if they offer some type of one-time use, or virtual CC number feature.

I use Bank of America and they offer "ShopSafe". With this I can go online and get a virual CC number which I can set my own upper limit and expiration date.
Once I have my order in check out I go to my CC account and get this new number, add a few dollars over the expected cost of the order, have it expire in 2 months, and give this number to the vendor. At no time does the vendor or anyone associated with him see my real CC number.

Call your card company. Let them know it's an unauthorized transaction. They will investigate and credit your account the amount illegally used during the investigation. Most card companies have fraud protection.

That's one the beauty of using credit cards; you get protection/insurance whereas you use cash, there is no guarantee.

That is brillant. I'm goona see if my bank offers something like this. In the mean time I've been loading a walmart card with my vape cash for online shopping. I load it with just what I'm spending. Fortunitly, I have a walmart less then a mile form my house, so for me its convenient enough to be worth the safety.

my bank does offer a prepaid card that is easily reloadable from any of your accounts with them. i also have fraud protection, so i won't be out the money if the charge actually goes through. it isn't fraud if it is a pending authorization, and so right now, i am just waiting on my new prepaid card. all is going to be well. i just love my credit union.......and my ecf!
