ok I'll bite...

I was a smoker since the age of 15. I dabbled back then, a smoke whenever someone who was 'cool' would bum me one and I starting smoking regularly with the start of my first real job at age 16. Everyone I worked with at the restaurant smoked, so by peer pressure and the fact that I loved the smell, it wasn’t long before I started a pack a day habit that I had no idea would become a 23 year long ordeal.

I smoked Old Gold, Merit, Winston, Marlboro Red, Winston light, Marlboro Light, Merit Ultra light, Parliment, Camel Light, Camel Ultra lights, Seneca's and finally Seneca Ultra Lights, in that order more or less. Usually a pack a day, sometimes more when I'd be drinking. I tried quitting a few times, once as long as 8 months, only to get dragged right back in by peer pressure, drinking, or boredom. In the last 2 years before I started to vape I was smoking about 10 cigarettes a day. Not too bad but I knew they were killing me.

What really motivated me to quit was my son. He was only 2 when I realized if I kept smoking I wouldn’t be able to keep up with him. Running, jumping, playing baseball and soccer..I would be out of breath in minutes. I did have him late in life (36) so by the time he graduates I will be well into my 50's. I needed to prepare myself for the years to come.

I knew I couldn’t do it cold turkey and one day while I was surfing I came across a Smoking Everywhere ad I remember it had Danny Bonaduce from the Partridge Family vaping on the ad. It looked so real. I immediately jumped to their site and began reading. Free sample! + Shipping and handling $10 total!!!! I was about to give them my credit card when I thought, this sounds too good to be true. I mean, cigarettes were almost $6 a pack and they were offering me the equivalent of 10 packs for $10? This made no sense. I decided I would research a little. I mean, this is something that I will be inhaling into my body. The actors posing may be doing just that, posing. They may not even use this product, I thought. So I googled Electronic Cigarette and that’s where it all started.

I got real lucky because the first place I stumbled upon was ECF - electronic cigarette forum - and I read some posts, registered and began to ask questions. Anyone heard of Smoking Anywhere? Will e-cigs help me quit? Are they dangerous? The response to these questions was exactly what I needed. I was informed that Smoking Anywhere was selling junk and they were known for charging a monthly fee to the CC you would use to purchase their "sample". I was told that they could help me quit but that they are not advertised as a cessation device. And I was directed to all the literature I could handle on the safety and health concerns that are associated with 'vaping'. With this new found information, I was ready to try it.

My first e-cig was a 401 EVO from Innovapor. The videos they had on their site was really what sold me. I used it with EcoPure 18mg Rich ejuice and my first thought as I took a puff was 'this doesn’t taste like a cigarette'. I starting vaping daily and slowly cut back my analog cigarette smoking from 10 a day to 8. I cut down by 2 a day, a week until I burned through my last carton. I loved my EVO and I went nowhere without it.

I quickly realized that using this e-cig got me some additional attention I wasn’t really planning on. I got all sorts of looks and stares. I must’ve explained what it was 100 times to people. It got a little tiresome but I felt like I was empowering people to break away from a smelly habit. I remember I was on vacation at Disneyland and I was vaping. A park patrol woman came over and told me there was no smoking in the park, I turned around and told her I wasn’t smoking and that what I was using was not a cigarette. I showed it to her and explained what it was and what it did. She looked intrigued and immediately began apologizing. Felt kinda good.

I met quite a few people on the ECF forums. I couldn’t believe how many people used e-cigs. I was thinking what a great product it was. Here I was 3 months into vaping, without a desire in the world for a traditional cigarette. I thought what a great business to be in, selling e-cigs. I wondered if I could cash in on some of this. I didn’t have to wonder long. I met a guy on ECF looking for a partner to start an e-cig business. We talked many times, with his designs and ideas and my advertising and people skills, we were sure we could pull it off. Although little did I know, we were about a year too late.

We started small; he had a great site and a few Chinese contacts. We argued back and forth as to what model to sell. He was dead set on selling at 510, me a 401. We both began looking into each model to see what kind of prices we could get. In the meantime he kept working on the site while I ordered business cards and began promoting the business. We eventually agreed on the 510. After I tried one I realized it was as good if not better than my 401 so we needed to find them as cheap as possible. My partner insisted that we only go after resellers of genuine JOYE 510 models. At the time I didnt know what it mattered but apparently he did.
We searched for awhile with the big stumbling block being finding someone who would sell without a MOQ (minimum order quantity). We finally found one, prices were good, and we placed our first order. Took forever to arrive and cost a fortune to ship, but we had them. I was able to sell most all of them right away. Now we ran into another problem. We didn’t have enough money to place another order until we sold all we had. So we would have to wait another month before we would have stock. My partner didn’t like this so he found another supplier selling JSB 510's with a nice charging carry case that would sell to us on an as needed, per order base. So basically a customer would tell us what they wanted and we would order from the supplier. Problem with this was the wait was long and the product was garbage but my partner insisted this was the way to go. I disagreed and ended the partnership. The business eventually failed altogether leaving several unhappy customers seeking product elsewhere and slamming the company wherever they could. Can’t say as I blame them. We were shooting too high with not nearly the funds we needed to make it work. Live and learn.

I starting dabbling in DIY e-liquids but nothing I made ever came out the way I wanted it to. I moved onto modding and built a couple of 5V 510 mods which actually worked better with my failed e-juice attempts. I enjoy making different tasting e-juice and modding when I have time but I mostly just use my RIVA. I really enjoy vaping and I have turned more people onto it than I can remember. Haven’t had a cigarette since I started. I feel and smell better than I have in years. I will continue to encourage others who smoke to try e-cigs in hopes that they too can quit the nasty habit of cigarette smoking.

I smoked for 40 years and after repeated attempts at quitting with patches, gum, chantix, hypnosis, acupuncture I gave up on my efforts to quit and figured it was a lost cause. Then I bought a new car and it smelled so good that I didn't want to smoke in it and stink it up but I frequently have to drive several hours so after speaking to a neighbor who swore by e-cigs I decided to try one. I ordered a KR-808 kit and tried it and thought to myself 'hmm..this isn't half bad' over the next 3 or 4 days I found myself using the e-cig more and more, and not bothering with the analogs. It wasn't long before I realized I had no desire to smoke a regular cigarette, that it's been well over two months since I had an analog and I'm loving vaping. I went to a different system with a longer battery and like alot of vapers got addicted to buying more and more juice and the latest mod that came along but even with those costs considered I'm money ahead and feel 100% better than I did when I was smoking

A fellow employee had tried to convert me to the whole e-cigarette idea for over a year. I kept putting it off due to the fact I claimed I could not afford the money to purchase a 510 kit and juice. Well I changed my mind when my mammogram came back positive. Now it has been almost nine months, and that first money spent was just a drop in the bucket. However it has been a most fun flavorful journey that I do not intend to end.

I smoked for 30 years and most of those years, it was 2 packs a day. I have tried to quit more times than I care to remember, and with every method that anyone could come up with. None of them were successful.
In January 2011, I started noticing a lot of electronic cigarette ads on T.V. and on the radio and the ads started to peak my interest in trying to quit smoking again. I wanted to find out about the ecig before just ordering one off of the T.V. offers and started my internet research of the product. At first I was very skeptical and then a friend on one of the Goldwing forums, that I am active in , made a post about a website where he sold ecigs. He personally uses the ecig and sells them, I thought, hey, here is a guy that I can trust so I made an order.
On January 24, 2011, I recieved my Riva kit and after charging it up and giving it a try, I was simply amazed. I kept wondering when I was going to have an urge to smoke. I was sitting at my computer, messing around with my Goldwing forums and using the ecig, suddenly it hit me that I haven't had a cigarette in over 3 hours and wasn't even wanting one. Now I am starting to get really excited that these battery powered fog machines might just work.
Now I like being a member of the Goldwing forum and thought that there should be a forum for these things and by all means, I need a community that can help educate and motivate me, so my internet search led me to the great ECF. I quickly found answers to any questions that I had. Now, I have a tool, the ecig, and a support group, ECF, I already was motivated and now I had everything else to aid me in quitting smoking.
It has now been 65 days since I smoked my last cigarette and I am confident that I will never smoke another one. At some point in time I will also lay down my ecig. I have my nicotine level at 12mg now and will continue to lower it until I can beat that monster too.
I am proud to be a member of the ecig users and I am sure that it has saved me from the certain death that the cigarettes were handing me.

I rolled my own cigarettes for the past 20 years, and smoked a pack a day for about 25 years prior to that. I loved smoking, never attempted to give it up, and I thoroughly enjoyed the ritual of hand-rolling.
On a warm day last April, I happened to bring my car in for some work at the local garage, and I noticed that the mechanic was puffing on something strange. I asked him what it was, and he explained to me it was a Blu e-cigarette. He let me take a hit, and I was quite impressed. It tasted good, was cool to hold, and gave me the sensation of smoking.
When i got home, I hit the Internet, found ECF and other sites dedicated to e-cigarettes, did a lot of research for about a week and placed an order for a Janty eGo starter kit. It arrived on April 23, 2010 at 1 PM. As I strolled (ran) out to the mailbox, I put out my cigarette.........and that was the last one I've had since. I’ve never even had the desire to light up again.
This new pastime of mine has not resulted in any cost savings though, because, unfortunately, I became adicted to collecting mods and have also been sampling hundreds of e-juices from numerous vendors.
The health benefits, on the other hand, have been enormous........no more coughing, shortness of breath, wheezing, etc. And best of all, my lovely wife doesn't constantly tell me I smell and to get away from her.
Another advantage is that I never smoked in the house………..it was against the law! Now, I can actually enjoy a nice vape indoors.
The only thing I miss abput smoking is my trusty Zippo.
All in all, it’s been a wonderful journey. One that I wish more smokers would begin to experience. I really feel that this is only the beginning of the possibilities.
Thanks for reading. :D

I smoked kools/newports since I was 13-14. I am 47 years old. Actually I smoked my dads cigs (winstons) earlier than that. As a kid one imitates others. (I adored my dad.) I had tried numerous times to quit. Nothing worked. Last year 2010(Jan) I was interested in what a fellow nurse was using. She had bought a ecig from the mall. The price tag was around 150.00. I knew that I could not afford it and started shopping online.

I made it to this forum as a lurker and I did buy my first ego kit from you (ecigexpress) back in July 2010. I never looked back. I had the idea to gradually cut down. I did it gradually and it worked.

However, I could not completely quit one cigarette I alloted myself. I tried ego Ts, carts, LR atties. I was able to fully quit using a mod set at 4.2. So now I can say I am cig free.

I am enjoying making my own e-fluid at this time. I am going light on the flavorings. My husband is completely amazed . I no longer smell like a big old funky ashtray.

I really wish they came up with ecigs years ago. I could have saved my dad from his lung and heart disease. When he died he had 16% of lung function left. He had smoked 2-3 packs of Winstons daily.

Back to me....I started having problems with allergies. The bronchitis was horrible. Each year I knew I would present with an increase in breathing difficulties. My 02 saturations was around 89-90%. (The amount of 02 that can be measured.)

Now I can take my O2 stats and they average around 97% to 99%. I no longer have adventitious sounds-wheezing throughout my lung fields.

I can state the fact that electronic vaporizers has helped me quit the cigarettes. My health has improved as evidenced by no coughing, wheezing, shortness of breath, and increase in energy.

Cool contest! My first e-juice purchase was from ecigexpress.com as well.

My Story:

I started smoking cigarettes at around 13 years of age and was up to about a pack a day by the time I was 18-19. I was very well hooked in my twenties thru thirties and by the time I experimented with trying to quit, it was a very hard thing to do.

Somewhere in my late thirties, I tried to quit a couple of times, once with a nicotine gum and another time cold turkey. Neither approach worked for any length of time. The nicotine gum saved me from smoking a few cigarettes from time to time, but most of the time I found my self overdosing on nicotine as I would chew the gum until that craving went away, then light up a smoke a few minutes later. Not a good thing. So, I kept smoking for a few more years until I was getting kind of sick of smoking and wanted to save a few bucks, so I quit cold turkey.

That worked for about 2-3 months, up until when something stressful happened in my life which made me take up the habit once again. At that point, there was no point in even trying to quit smoking anymore and along I went on my pack a day habit (sometimes even more on the weekend).

Well, at 43 years of age (about 6-7 months ago) I was downright fed up with smoking. I was sick of going to sleep and waking up in the middle of the night and in the morning coughing. If you've been smoking for any period of time, you know the cough. I was sick of stinking like a walking cigarette. Every meal had to be followed by a cigarette, every drink, every time something excited happened even. My chest was hurting and I could barely breathe without coughing. My other half was constantly complaining that I smelled horrible. Not only that, but the price of this habit was getting a bit out of control with higher taxes and the price of a pack going up and up every year. I was at the point where I didn't want to smoke, I hated it even.

Then I started looking into ways of quitting the habit, for good. I didn't want anything to do with cigarettes anymore but was still very physically and mentally addicted. I searched online high and low for something that would get me off the smokes. Then I came across the e-cig. Pretty interesting little gadget I thought. The more I learned about it the more I knew this would be the only thing currently available that would have a chance of working for me. You see, its not only the nicotine addiction that kept me on cigarettes, I believe a lot of the addiction to smoking (at least for me) was the hand-to-mouth habit and the drawing in of a puff of smoke into the lungs. This e-cig device seemed like the only thing that would fit the bill.

Well, towards the middle of September of 2010, I finally got enough information to decide on which particular e-cig I wanted to start with. It took me a while as there is an abundance of information. I must have spent weeks going over it all. The different types, the different methods, etc. After I decided on an e-cig and placing my order, my unit came in a few days later. I was amazed. Sure the generic cartridges that came with the unit weren't nothing to write home about, but I could easily tell from that very first day with the e-cig that cigarette smoking was going to be a thing of the past for me.

I knew from reading online forums that there was better e-juice out there, and that I could re-fill my carto's with juice from manufacturer's that make a much better tasting juice than the generic ones that usually come with the starter kits. So I ordered some tobacco flavored juices at the same time I ordered my e-cig kit. I'm sure glad I did! I found that tobacco flavors were the thing for me! They gave me that reminder of the tobacco taste I liked and craved, and the e-cig gives me the hand-to-mouth and smoke filling in my lungs sensation that i've been so addicted to for over 3 decades of smoking. This was great! Plus, over the long haul i'd be saving money and saving my health!

I haven't had a cigarette since.

After about 2-3 weeks of using the e-cig, I started noticing my sense of smell had almost totally returned. I could smell things I never could before when I was a smoker. Sometimes this is good and sometimes this is bad but it was a welcome change. Somtimes i'll be in a parking lot and I can smell somebody lighting up a cigarette from across the lot!

The coughing I experienced before as a smoker, and the waking up in the middle of the night and in the morning coughing was GONE! I could finally breathe and laugh without coughing! This alone was a sign that my lungs were getting healed and its only gotten better since. I can taste a lot of foods that I couldn't taste really good before when I used to smoke. I don't stink anymore! My garage (where I used to smoke) is finally smelling like a garage again and I feel more energy in the mornings. The e-cig really has changed my life (and my outlook on life).

I can honestly say, that this e-cig gadget has probably saved my life, or at least extended my life. Plus my friends and family are much happier that they don't have to smell my old stinky self anymore. I highly recommend the e-cig to anybody who smokes that wants to quit and have converted a few of my smoker friends over to the e-cig and i'm glad to say, they've been just as successful as I have been in quitting.

It seemed really cool when I was 16 to skip school and hangout at the bowling alley all day. Of course back then you could still smoke indoors at places like bowling alleys and bars. I started smoking cigarettes my Sophomore year in high school. Really early but I actually didn't do drugs, or drink, or get in trouble. Smoking was the only bad thing I did and it would turn out to be one of the worst decisions of my life. I also feel bad because a few of my friends started smoking back then due to being around me and having easy access to cigarettes. A dumb 16yr old making dumb decisions.

I smoked consistently for the last 11 years basically. Now I'm 27 and this year was the first time in my life I really regretted being a smoker. My wife who doesn't smoke has put up with my smoking for years. She never forced me to quit and never smoked around her really. This year for some reason I decided it was time to quit. Getting older does funny things to a person. I never figured out exactly how I was going to quit, I just knew I wanted to quit.

About a month ago a friend of mine and I were having a conversation outside work and he said, "Hey I ordered one of the electronic cigarettes from the internet."

"A What? Like those things at the mall?" I asked.

"Yeah, kind of like that but a real starter kit."

"Well, let me know how that goes when you get it cause I might be interested if it helps you cut down on regular cigs."

He got his kit a few days later and called me. He was insanely happy with the product he got so I ordered the same kit. Three days after that I got my kit and I haven't had a single tobacco cigarette since then. I quit smoking the moment I opened my starter kit box.

Electronic cigarettes have been a life saver for me. I just hope my lung function and overall health bounce back well. I read stories about people who have smoked for 40 years and I'm so glad that isn't going to be me. 11 years isn't a short run by any means with cigarettes but it sure beats an entire lifetime of couching and smelling terrible, not to mention the ridiculous cost of traditional cigarettes. Between the health benefits, cost savings, and overall enjoyability of e-cigs I couldn't be any happier with my experience so far. I hope to be a vaper for a long time...

I started when I was 16 years old and it just got worse from there. 20 years old and a pack a day I knew I had to quit but I just couldn't. I started a new job and a guy I met while working there used an electronic cigarette. I finally went and talked to him about a month into me watching him on breaks and he was so happy to explain and talk about it. I tried it and immediately thought wow I can do this. So he gave me a business card to my local vendor. I went and talked to him and he turned me to an ego starter kit and let me try plenty of good liquid. Ever since that day I have not touched one analog and have been loving it!

I started smoking analogs at 16 years of age. I was dating my current wife. We had a short breakup, that's when I started smoking. We where back together in a short time apart, but I had that nasty habit. My wife was raised around smokers and hated it with a passion. She married me anyway when I was 18, and she 19. As the years rolled by every now and then she would suggest I try quitting. I ignored her. She didn't complain. We started having children after 5 years of marriage. That's when I stopped smoking in the home and car. When she became pregnant I made that decision myself, I didn't want her exposed to that toxin. Well the kids grew older and they too hated my smoking and constantly asked daddy to stop. I ignored them and would walk outside to smoke. As the years continued to roll on by, they would ask now and then for me to stop. I never tried. Well 28 years later, the grand babies came along. Oh lord it was like a big wake up call for me. I was starting to hack in the mornings, had trouble breathing, and I'm in really good shape for someone who's 46 years old and smoked for 30 years. I started seeing e-cigs advertised and I thought hummmm. Well I researched them for about 4 weeks before I ordered my first 510 joye. I received it on July 29th 2010. That was the last day I smoked a analog. My wife and kids were surprised that I stopped the analogs. They are so proud of me and constantly praise me for my success in quitting them. I hope to grow old enough to see my great grand kids grow. I'm 46 5-11 175lbs and feel 100% better. I no longer hack, snore or have shortness of breath. I recommend vaping to at least 1 person a day. Well that's my story. I'm not sure if it's 250 words or not, but that's my success story.
Thx from 1 happy vapor. :)

My name is Adam, I am 26 years old. I have been smoking a pack a day for 10 years, solid. Recently, a close friend of mine's mother passed away due to lung cancer, since then, I've had enough. I looked all over the internet for information on electronic cigarettes and the best that I found at that point was a site rating the top 10 companies. The top two, in which I was debating on whom to buy from, were extremely expensive. I knew with my limited budget that I just couldn't afford it. But I simply had to quit, I have a little 4 year old boy, Dominic who is relying on his daddy to live.

What luck for me though, I do a simple google search in hopes of finding others in my same posistion and voila!, I found ECF. Everyone here helped me make sound decisions on what package to start with, what juices to try, etc. It wasn't very long until my first eGo came and ever since my first vape, I haven't touched one cigarette. I'll never smoke again, ever. I don't care if I can never vape again, though I'd prefer to, you'll never see me smoke another one of those terrible products. My life is worth more than throwing it away on overpriced cancer.

I don't know for sure if I'll live long enough to see my son grow into a man, but, what I do know is that cigarettes will NOT be the cause of that prevention. It's been twenty-six days since my last cigarette puff, I have no regrets nor do I have any desire for a cigarette, ever. In fact, the very smell of one burning hurts my inferior nasal conchae. Out with the old, in with the new.

I’ve been a smoker since I was 15. I managed to quit with both of my pregnancy’s, but by time each of my kids turned 2 years old, I was back to craving a cigarette. It was so easy to start again because my husband smokes—analogs are always in the house. I’ve had several failed quit attempts. I’ve tried gum, patches, and even prescription drugs. Nothing helped me enough to really get away from cigarettes.
I decided to hunt alternatives, and landed on e-cigs. I tried a gas station disposable and was blown away. I managed to make it through days only smoking 4-5 cigarettes in a day; down from a pack a day… still smoking because I was trying to make the e-cig last long enough for my online order to come in the mail. I have since ordered a starter kit with a bigger battery and am happily vaping almost full time.
Since switching I have managed to get down to about 3-4 cigarettes in a day. My best day so far was when my six year old son gave me a hug and told me that I actually smelled good. He got an extra hug for that.
Don’t get me wrong, there is a learning curve with e-cigs. It’s not as simple as light & smoke. Some of the terms used to describe the parts seemed like a foreign language, but with a little research I figured out what would work well for me. I’ve enjoyed trying the different flavors of juice the most. I think for right now, I’m better off sticking with tobacco flavors, but I see many sweeter options in my future. I’ve also saved money vs. analogs—even after purchasing 2 starter kits!
I'm quite happy vaping. I feel better and I smell better.

I had been an analog smoker for close to thirty five years. I had tried all different methods to try and stop. Nothing seemed to make a difference. Then one day my daughter came to me and told me she did not want to see me die. The decision was made for me. How to quit though? I had tried so many other methods. A friend of mine just happened to be at my house a little over two months ago and had a strange looking device which he called an e cigarette. He explained how it worked and told me to go look at the reviews and decide for myself, which I did. That was over two months ago. I am now analog free. I feel better, I can taste my food again, take long walks without getting tired, and most important not having to look into my daughter's face while she tells me she doesn't want to see me die. Now I want to help others. As often as I can when I meet someone in a store, or at an event, or at the park and I hear that they want to quit but don't know how I just show them my e cigarette and tell them my story and how it changed my life. I now show them how it works . I am now the one to tell them to look at the reviews and to make up their minds. Some have taken my advice others have not. The way I figure it, if I have even saved one life free from an analog that will be one life well worth saved.

Well, my intentions was to never quit smoking real cigarettes. As a matter of fact,
it wasn't even to cut down...I started electronic cigarettes so I didn't have to smoke outside in the cold. Back in September of 2008, I saw an advertisement for Blu Cigs and it caught my eye. I was so curious because at the time, I had never heard of electronic cigarettes before in my life. I thought it was the coolest thing. It was that time of year when it was starting to get cold out and I wasn't allowed to smoke in the house and anywhere else for that matter (bars, restaurants, casinos). I smoked either outside or in the garage. Needless to say, it wasn't pleasing to smoke in the cold. Hands and body shivering trying to take a hit of a cigarette...not enjoyable whatsoever....so, I decided to go ahead and order the Blu Cigs. When I got them, I was thinking, ok..I can do this when I don't want to go outside to smoke a real cigarette. After a few days of real cigarettes and then switching to electronic cigarettes, back and forth with the two, I just didn't want to go outside to smoke anymore and the Blu Cigs were enough to kill the nicotine cravings. I liked it so much, I eventually ordered another kit. If I only knew about mods, but that's another story for another time. I ordered a few extra batteries, a boat load of cartridges of every flavor, the works. I think within a couple of weeks, I was completely off real cigarettes and never even thought about it again. I thought to myself, if I only knew about this sooner...i could have saved myself a ton of money and be healthier at the same time. Now, when I smell the odor of someone that just smoked a real cigarette...it kind of turns my stomach...the smell is awful! And I use to smell like that...anyway, thats my story...thanks

I smoked half a cigarette last night. I'd been drinking, and my last atty broke and I needed the fix. I'd had the pack of camel light 99s sitting around for a few months, but I hadn't really been tempted. Still, there was a small part of me jonesing for that hit, combustion; smoke. I was sorely disappointed. The taste was alright. The nicotine was there, but so were a thousand other chemicals fighting to take control of my neurochemistry. It was a bit uncomfortable; lightheaded and all that.

Worst of all, the smell. That lingering tobacco smell. I never much cared for it when I was smoking, and now it just smells rank. Not horrible, but decidedly unpleasant. Bleh.

Regardless, cigarettes are boring. The concept is great, and if I was alive 50 years ago I would smoke cigarettes. Not a problem. But today, it's just so mundane. The camel crush is sort of exciting, but mostly one must settle down into two-pack deals at 7-11 and other such banalities. There's really no intellectual outlet.

Which brings about the e-cig. While I used electronic smoking to quit cigarettes, e-cigs are lessened by the 'smoking cessation' label. It's more than that. It's about technology, health, and industry. It's a nascent world of commerce, largely self-regulated.

It's fascinating. And it's a great hobby.

I've spent countless hours online, loving every minute as I unravel the technical secrets of the perfect vape. I've spent far too much money, too. But it's a good cause.

And e-cigs are more than smoking. The flavors; the juices. E-cigs work on a totally different level from smoking. Tastes taste different. Combinations that you would never eat, or mix with tobacco and light aflame, explode gloriously on your tongue.

The smoke is pure, thick, whitish grey. The plumes beg to form rings. Every exhalation is an exaltation of vapor's chaotic form.

Vape on, my brothers!

edit: 312 words, not counting these. Thanks!

I started smoking when I was sixteen years old. It started as a casual habit that happened when I was with my friends. Later on it became a two pack a day habit. I worked in a fast food restaurant and it was common for employees to take smoke breaks. I would smoke two cigarettes at a time during my break just to get the relief of stress and anxiety that smoking provided. I remember spending all of my paychecks at the time on gas and cigarettes and wondering why I disliked my job so much. My life was fueled solely by gas stations and I believe that the highlight of my day was once opening a new pack of cigarettes.

I initially became hooked on regular flavored Basic cigarettes as that was the brand my parent's smoked and they always had coupons for me. I would like to say that the flavor was not a deciding factor in my initial addiction, so reports that suggest that teenagers are influenced by sweet flavors are offensive. I moved on to menthol cigarettes (mainly Camel 9s and Malboro Special Blends and smooths). I later discovered Djarum cloves and they became my brand of choice.

I smoked for almost five years and I spent half of those years hiding my habit. I disliked the way that non smokers would make me feel like a criminal for smoking. I was always conscious of those around me and I never deliberately caused anyone to receive second hand smoke. As the laws against smoking increased, I began to feel more like an outsider than ever before. Even bars and casinos began closing their doors to smokers. I understood the health risks of smoking, but I needed something to help me cope with my anxiety.

Last year I noticed an advertisement for a popular brand of electronic cigarette. The cost of the electronic cigarettes was a little bit over the price of a carton of cigarettes and all I needed to do was purchase the cartomizers after the startup fees. I enjoyed the initial kit, but I found myself longing for a more enjoyable vaping experience. The batteries wouldn't last more than an hour and the pre-filled cartomizers were sometimes empty. Even though I felt like my initial starter kit was a waste of money... I enjoyed the taste of the vapor more than the caustic taste of smoke. I made it through a week with the electronic cigarettes and I knew I could never go back to analogs again. I began my search for better e-cig models. I went through a few different varieties until I finally found comfort in using the tank system with e-liquid. I found that my costs went from $200+ a month to under $45 a month. I still occasionally splurge with new flavors, but I've found that this habit is much easier to maintain than my old one. I genuinely love vaping and I feel that I've finally found the replacement for smoking that I've been looking for.

It was a day as any other,or so I thought.

I walked into my local smoke store, and while waiting in line I saw a Joyful box on the counter,it said electronic cig,I was curious,so I asked, what does this do?and was told it was an electronic cig, only gives you nicotine,I was very curious by this time, but the pack of analogs in my hand said it was time to get back to work.As I left,I grabbed a brochure to learn even more at my leisure.

After looking up just what exactly an ecig was,I found this site and it started me on this fun filled trip we call vaping.I had been an analog smoker for over 35 years, and I have been smoke free for over 6 months now.My breath was getting short,my sense of smell was shot, and now, thanks to vaping, these health issues are slowly resolving themselves.

I have been able to turn my sister onto vaping, and my boss at work also_Oh,and the wife just loves the fact that I don't smell like smoke,my clothes don't smell like smoke, and I am once again kissable.
I am always showing it off to others to plant the seeds of curiosity and hoping that they too will take the plunge into vaping heaven.

I currently have a bottom feed mod,and it has been working like a champ.Just remember, don't get discouraged if you are a new vaper, and find the flavor you like.As a matter of fact,PREMIUM TOBACCO could be the one you have been looking for..

I can recall a few very vivid images and moments in my life regarding cigarettes. I remember my grandmother walking through her living room stopping to light up, my uncle stepping outside during the middle of winter to squeeze in a few drags, a babysitter hand-rolling and sealing tight her own cigarette.

I remember seeing parents in their cars waiting to pick up their children at school blasting puffs of smoke out their windows. I remember my fifth grade buddy bragging how he smoked some cigarettes with his older brother in their attic while playing cards, he even brought a king of spades for us to smell as proof. I remember sneaking around the building during a sixth grade dance with a few other guys to smoke half a pack of cigarettes a pal had swiped from his mom.

I remember watching the hottest girls in high school scrambling to their cars after class in order to light up and drive off without getting caught. I remember keeping cheap cologne in my car, thinking it would mask the smell of smoke and fool my mom if I sprayed enough of it on me. I remember smoke breaks being the best part about working long shifts at the local diner. I remember a friend at college telling me, "You know, I've never seen you without a cigarette in your mouth."

I remember girlfriends telling me that they thought smoking was cool and it didn't bother them only to take it back months later.
I remember the sun streaming in through my darkened dorm room and wisps of smoke forming the most dazzling display against the light. I remember coke cans and wine bottles filled with cigarette butts.

I remember singeing my girlfriend's arm when I hugged her with a cigarette still in hand. I remember burning holes in jackets, pants, and shirts. I remember coughing late at night and struggling to breathe. I remember being winded walking up a flight of stairs. I remember putting back some groceries so I could afford a pack of cigarettes. I remember the patch, the gum, the pills. I remember how I felt when I realized that smoking would kill me and that I was too weak-willed to do anything about it. I remember resigning myself to a life of smoke slavery.

I remember Greg.

I remember he walked into class one day. He pulled out a cigarette and puffed away as he lectured. There was an awkward silence, one that he addressed when it became uncomfortably evident in our eyes. "It's an electronic cigarette." He said this proudly and it didn't make sense to anybody. He explained how no tobacco was burning and vapor was what we were seeing and it wasn't lit but the orange l.e.d. gave it the impression. It sounded crazy, it looked crazy. It seemed too good to be true, almost like a magic trick.

I and a couple of smokers caught up with him after class and he showed it to us more thoroughly. He explained how you dripped into a cartridge and charged a battery to keep it running. He let a few of us try it. I didn't use it. He told us he picked it up at the mall and that it cost $100. That price was high enough to make me forget about it for six more months.

It wasn't until I was surfing online that I saw an ad for electronic cigarettes. "I've heard of these," I thought to myself. I did a quick search and found a kit. It was more than $100 but I was desperate to quit smoking by then. I charged it to my card and received it a week later. Piddling vapor clouds compared to cigarette smoke. I read some reviews and found out I could have gotten more for my money. Luckily, I was able to return the kit for a refund.

I picked up a kr808 kit with some cartomizers because it seemed simple. It arrived and I loved it. I ordered a 510 kit for my brother, who was also struggling with cigarette addiction. He loved the 510. We moved on from those first devices, following the pattern of other e-cigarette users: 3.7 volt devices, low resistance atomizers, tube mods, d.i.y. box mods, juice feeders, variable voltage. We've tried many of the popular juice makers, finding a few favorites but always on the look out for something better.

I remember suggesting an e-cigarette to a friend's mom. I remember her calling me on the Fourth of July to say thank you.
I remember giving out old e-cigarette kits for buddies to try and the heartfelt look of gratitude on their faces, I don't want to sound sappy and say they looked at me with faces of freedom or realized salvation, but they did have expressions that said more than just appreciation. I plan on giving out two more 3.7 devices to a couple of family members to try out, hoping it will help them with their struggles with smoking.

I'm not anti-cigarette, I've smoked since switching to electronic cigarettes, but I do appreciate what electronic cigarettes have done to help me separate myself from cigarettes. I enjoy the flavors, the throat hit, the inhale/exhale action, and (most important to me) the visual satisfaction of seeing the vapor.
