Hi all,

new to the forum and just wanted to post yet another ecig success story - reinforcement ftw!

I'm now 9 days without the evil weed, and either I'm very lucky, or I just have an affinity with e-nics, because I haven't had a single wobble, not even a little bit of one. That's kind of crazy, I bet we all have plenty of horror stories about NRT or cold turkey experiences and I have plenty. It's not supposed to be this easy!

I stumbled upon this forum when I first heard about electronic cigarettes, about two months ago. To be honest I was initially highly skeptical. But being someone who likes to make their own mind up, I read as much as I could here, got very confused by the sheer variation in what people were doing. I was reading about 'the drip method', tanks and attys, carts and batts, silver bullets and box mods and thinking,

"blimey, what on earth can these crazy people be on about, and how did I not see all this coming?"

And of course, I didn't even bother to take the good advice offered here, and instead plunged head long into my first purchase, which was an analogue looky likey. My reasoning at the time was that it was essential that it look the same.:facepalm:

My kit duly arrived, and I very quickly realised the potential. Frankly I was astounded by how effective it was as a mock of the real thing. Unfortunately it took me just 3 days and a fair number of analogues to realise this just wasn't man enough for my purposes. Lots and lots of research later, and I eventually settled on a Tornado Tank starter kit. And I haven't looked back since.

What an amazing world vaping is. I love my e-juices MORE than I ever did tobacco, and that's no self-delusion either. I really am into this thing in a big way. To begin with I approached it like I would a cig, you know, take a few toots every half hour or so. But I noticed that I was getting nicotine pangs quite frequently. So I started just vaping whenever I felt like it, making sure I had tanks primed with a variety of flavours just to keep things interesting, and that I had some drink on hand to keep me hydrated.

It's still early days for me. But I just know damned well that my smoking days are simply over. I'm never going back to it. And every time I feel like I need a reward, I'm going to buy myself something new from my preferred vendors. Little treats to keep this new habit energized.

I'd urge anyone that has stumbled upon this site, reading this post - do yourself a favour, if you're struggling with the concept, or not sure it's going to work for you, just go ahead and take the chance. I wouldn't normally encourage a habit, but hey, my improving lungs say DO IT!

Just like to add, that I did go through a period where I felt physically quite wretched, sort of like mild but persistent flu symptoms. Oh, and some pretty wild dreams too But then over the last couple of days my lungs are fighting back with a vengeance, kicking out an alarming amount of tar that's been collecting over the last 20 years, which is kind of simultaneously VILE and very very satisfying to behold.. Since that started, I'm feeling marvelously better, much more energy, my thinking seems less clouded and today for the first time in an age, my olfactory senses have awoken from their deep slumber. Yeah, my dog needs a bath!

Welcome to ecf, live well, vape well.

ETA: When I first started, I noticed my bushes outside my bedroom window smell like cat pee! I try not to open that window anymore, LOL.

lol @ pee pee bushes, and thanks for the warm welcome I'm a Mr...*double checks*...yeah definitely :) I see you're a gamer WalksWithWifi - that's another tick in the vaping plus box - I don't have to go AFK to make multiple trips to the back door now. The only downside is that I can't hold this thing between my teeth so I can properly lay the smack down on my buddies - yeah right, like vaping has given me mad skillz along with lung capacity, I wish!

edited for smiley abuse..

Bwwwwaahahahahaaa! The dog needs a bath. LOL

Oh yes. I felt this "vileness" for months, unfortunately. But I think for women it's worse because smoking depletes estrogen. When we quit, our bodies which are already going through hormonal ups and downs now have to deal with finally producing the adequate amounts of estrogen. I wasn't right for literally months. It was bad.

Oh wow, that sounds like it was rough. Mucho kudos for hanging in there. I think I've been a bit lucky so far with the downside of laying off cigs. But I've had 3 bouts of pleurisy in as many years, so I'm kind of getting that in perspective. I love that my my cilia are obviously doing the mexican wave despite my sucking on blended tobacco e-juice. Win!
